If it was not for a specific bike tech in this store, I would suggest that there are far better places to spend your hard earned bike dollars. He assisted me in my first purchase of a really useable bike rack.
recently, I purchased my first Carbon road bike, from this place, and was told that a few items would be made available to me to "sweeten" the purchase. I have had issues here with a parts order, after purchasing my bike rack, but the tech was fantastic. I canceled the parts order because after nearly 5 weeks of delay and having paid for the parts upfront, they had yet to arrive because of messed up ordering.
But, as I stated in the purchase process of my first ever Carbon road bike, it was a big deal to me, the bike was on sale, meaning not as much profit for the store, but it was there to be purchased , so I went into this with knowledge I had read on the bike...notably, by replacing the brake pads, the stopping would be greatly improved, I asked for pad replacement, and 2 bottle cages...that was all I needed to "sweeten" the purchase.... The pads had to be ordered in, so no problem, and we put on the 2 bottle cages...retail value 20 plus bucks each, that's not what they cost, that is marked up price.....I paid for the bike, and was charged for the bottle cages, noticed afterward, so when I went back to get the pads changed I wanted to get my refund on the bottle cages, but was told by my tech that he had been denied that option since the bike was on "sale" already. He was going to pay me out of his own pocket to cover the bottle cage costs.
I refused to allow him to do this, but feel absolutely at a loss for words as to how the true cost of 2 bottle cages and 2 sets of kool stop brake pads would be too much the to ensure continued shopping at this store.....I'm done.....I will get my bike serviced at an approved Norco Dealer, and wish the owners of this Cap's store good luck....so, in closing, I went back ti this store because of one staff member...I bought again, but as they did with the parts order, a discussion to negate customer service which left me, the guy spending money in their store questioning their desire to satisfy a buyer and to build a reason to make their store a place to refer and keep purchasing from.
Times are tough for retailers in all areas, I understand this, the dollar, the buying power etc., etc. but 2 bottle cages cost them my referrals........spend your money somewhere else...I have a bad taste in my mouth on this pathetic value system placed on keeping satisfied customers. read more
