This is such a great shop. They carry a remarkable variety of high end bikes and parts, are very knowledgeable, and super helpful too.

Two weeks after I bought my bike the pedal started sticking so I brought it back, they changed it for me without charging me. We have barely a clue on what to go with and certainly required advice for the right bike. While their supply was limited, he was able to recommend a bike that fit our daughter perfectly. He allowed our daughter to give the bike a test in the parking lot and didn't rush any decision. In fact, another employee did a quick tweak to the bike and let my daughter go for another spin to see if it made the use of the gears any easier. We also learned that they have a buy back / trade in program for children's bikes since the kiddos tend to outgrow their bikes quite quickly. I recommend anyone in the area to include this place when seeking out a bike. I bought my previous bike from them about 10yrs ago and remember the same high level of service and support.

So I managed to get it home and changed it myself. I just wish I hadn't bought the replacement tube from them. I got and email from them apologising profusely which is nice and good business practise. Presumably this has something to do with Covid precautions, which makes little sense as I had already touched the items with my hands. He is wearing the same rubber gloves he used with the last customer, has no face mask and was ok hovering right next to me while I looked at the shelf. If a customer not handling products is the procedure, post it on the wall and greet them with it or explain that. Do NOT snatch items out of your customer's hands, then walk to the till with it assuming that I am going to buy it. Covid is not an excuse for having zero interpersonal communication abilities and grossly high pressure sales tactics. A message to the staff at Trek: you never know who you're talking to, and being condescending toward a more highly qualified mechanic and cyclist than yourself is not a good way to earn repeat business. Remember that you work in retail sales and are no more special than a sandwich artist. Also remember that grabbing things out of people's hands is rude and shamed upon even for toddlers. I will not be returning to buy even a valve core from these nimrods, and I am going to make it my mission to spread this experience with my family and friends in the local bike and dirt bike community.

About 2 miles from the top of Constitution, my motor seized up and I was in a really tight spot. I coasted back down to the campground and started putting water on the hub to cool it down, but it was already shot. The problem was, I was solo and didn't know anybody on the island. I called multiple businesses and taxis, but no pick up or responses. I left a message with Wildlife Cycles, thinking they may have a solution for a way to get my E-bike and I back to the ferry terminal, which was about 16 miles away. Hell, the closest hotel was in East Sound, a couple of hours walking a bike on a narrow road. With the sun getting lower on the horizon, my last resort was hitchhiking, to which a lovely local couple, and fellow bike riders, picked me up and gave me a ride all the way back to the ferry terminal. Within that time, Wildlife Cycles texted me back!!! Mind you they were the only response that I got from the entire island. The gentleman explained that he was off island, but asked me what my current situation was and what my plans were. I informed him about the ride I had got and how I no longer needed his assistance. Think about it, I didn't do any business with Wildlife Cycles, as I had my own E-bike, but yet they still reached out to help a bicyclist in need. I have no doubt if I still needed a ride, they would have 100% figured out a way. This small interaction speaks VOLUMES about how they run their business and who they employ. Hats off to Wildlife Cycles!

I recently purchased a helmet and thought I had already signed up for the welcome discount code. After I completed my order and looked at my receipt, I realized the discount hadn't been applied. My first thought was, "Oh shoot, I forgot to enter the code." That also made me wonder whether I had actually completed the sign-up, so I immediately signed up for the welcome offer. I looked for an option to cancel and reorder my purchase, but there wasn't one available. Since I acted right away, I reached out through the chat to see if the discount could be applied or if there was another solution. Sam responded by email and simply stated that the discount couldn't be applied retroactively. While I understand that companies have policies, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility or effort to help. I wasn't trying to misuse the promotion--I made an honest mistake and contacted customer service almost immediately after placing my order. Life gets busy, and sometimes things slip through the cracks. I was juggling personal and family responsibilities at the time, and I simply forgot to enter the code before checking out. I was hoping for a little understanding and customer-focused service, especially as someone trying to make my first purchase with the company. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority in this situation. A small gesture of goodwill or a more empathetic response would have gone a long way.

Hope got a regular cruiser and I got one of their e-bikes to try out. Both bikes seemed practically new and rode well. I'd never ridden an e-bike before, but I enjoyed the J725 bike I was on. I think it had a 48v battery with a 500w motor and a cadence sensor. It's also really heavy but I only noticed that when I tried to pick it up. The e-bike was fun but totally unnecessary for Stanley Park- there was one steep but really short hill and a longer (but not really long) incline. I probably had the pedaling assist on for less than 15 minutes total during our three hour ride (most of which was spent stopped at various scenic stops, not riding), and perhaps 5 minutes of that was where it was really useful. It's a great way to try out the e-bike experience though, at least for one with that kind of sensor. Service at checkin and checkout was quick and helpful. The person showing me the e-bike seemed new though, he did a good job of showing me the e-bike features but didn't know whether it had a cadence or torque sensor. He also forgot to show me how to work the shifters, which turned out to be the trickiest part of the bike, I had to ask after I went up and down the alley next to the shop and couldn't figure it out. Cost seemed pretty reasonable once you factor in the included helmet and other accessories.
