We went out to Juan Blanco's last night for dinner and drinks. I ordered the chorizo tacos with beans and rice. The food was good but I was hoping for a bit more spice. I found that spice in the Spicy AF margarita which is made with ghost pepper tequila and jalapeño. I would definitely go back just based on the food. Service was a bit slow to get our order in but they were pretty busy and there were chips and salsa in the meantime. Once we got our order in the food didn't take long and the waitress was friendly and attentive. I liked the decor inside and the restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside. Juan Blanco's is a must try Mexican restaurant. The decor is super cute, so many large tables, booths, large bar area and even a fireplace. Service is very quick. Birria burrito- HUGE!! The flavor is so good. A slight spice to it but amazing. Definitely worth trying. Birria tacos- these come with consommé. I did not try but positive review as well. Taquitos- YUM. Really good. The aioli is pretty spicey but the shredded chicken was really juicy, toppings abundant in the middle of the plate. Stuffed avocados- these are ok. It is literally an avocado with toppings. We ended up just scooping it out and smashing it into guacamole instead. Not sure id order this again. Calamari- sooo crispy. Two sauces- a spicy aioli and an avocado foam. Both were delish with this. Elote- you can order this in a bowl form or on the cob. The bowl seemed more convenient and was a pretty large serving size. It was slightly warmed and fresh. The ambience was at a level three; service was good up until cashing out check. Typically I do not visit locations that do not accept Apple Pay. But upon receiving the bill the I asked the server if they accepted Apple Pay. She stated,"Management said we are not supposed to. Because of issues we had with Apple Pay. For security reasons". Attempted to explain exactly what Apple Pay was; server as well as manager fully understood Apple Pay. But then went on to say it could be utilized as long as the physical credit cards were on the phone. Which is exactly how Apple Pay works. So for them to say that they knew how Apple Pay works, and then go on to make a statement as that. Implies that they do not understand how Apple Pay works. And this is why the server kept asking me if I meant tap . In which case tap is the process performed at the credit card machine. Apple Pay is the application that holds the physical debit/credit (insurance; discount; store;coupon;gas; and soon drivers license)cards on the users Apple device/iPad, MacBook; Apple Watch; or iPhone . I was never given a clear cut explanation. It all seemed to be made up as the conversation went on. Plain and simple; I felt that it is where the restaurant faulted as far as the service. Really enjoyed my dinner here! Right next to a golf course so if it's warm definitely grab a table outside for a nice view of the course. Started with ceviche which tasted really fresh. We enjoyed the food at Juan Blancos and the atmosphere is amazing. They have one of the best outdoor patios in the area. You can even watch the golfers on a nice day. The patio also has its own bar and firepit. I really enjoy the birria tacos here and my husband likes their steak fajita quesadilla. We are not big fans of their cocktails. While they have an extensive drink menu and I love that they offer margarita flights, I just have not found any drinks here that I enjoy. All their drinks are very sweet and I am just not a fan. I wish they would make a more authentic margarita with fresh squeezed lime juice. Chips and salsa are great but the queso is even better. Definitely give it a try. read more

Wanted Mexican and a friend recommended Juan Blanco's. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. Had a cute sign and disco ball in the bathroom, which gave us a good laugh. Being a southern Californian, my expectations were not high but it wasn't bad. The salsa is a good mild flavor and chips were fresh. Had the fajitas and was not overly happy. This place is new and I've had an interest in eating here but keep forgetting to go. A friend of mine lives on this side of town and we do lunch on the regular, and it was my turn to pick. I was like hey, let's try Juan Blanco's? She was like "sure, let's do it." So, off we went. Pulling up the place is decorated and really cool looking from the outside. Walking in, I was amazed at how wonderfully it was decorated with murals! I love the decor! Can I tell you the chairs here are SUPER comfortable. Their black chairs and super cushiony and really fabulous. Plenty of neon signs, and spacious. My favorite part though? They have a disco ball with lights that hit off it in the ladies bathroom! You can see it when you walk into the hostess area and since I "had to go" anyway, I checked it out. Hilarious and awesome! They also have a HUGE neon sign as well. Check out my photos, you'll see just how cool it is. We sat by the fireplace and they also have garage doors for patio seating. It was so well decorated and hip here, I could literally move in and live here. Seriously! The menu has tons of options and prices range from about $16 to a little bit over $20. Fair game, but the food portions are large, and they don't skimp. I had three tacos with rice and beans and my friend had a burrito which was huge. Our server took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. My bill for my meal with a pop was $18. Not bad. I think it was $16 for the taco meal and $2 for the drink. Let's start with the positives, beautiful restaurant, very nice wait staff and a giant open space for large parties. The margarita flight was fantastic, comes with the house mango, strawberry Thai chili and blueberry basil. I think that's the way to go over getting just one margarita. The food is where they lost me. I don't have anything positive to say. We started with nachos, some salsa and queso and elote. We asked for no beans on the nacho, and the most overwhelming thing on the nachos were beans. It had no salt on it anywhere. Everything tasted extremely bland. I had the papas con rajas, they were the driest tacos I've ever had. I tried the variety of sauces at the table with no improvement to the taste at all. In conclusion, I'll be back if we're just grabbing drinks but I can't let myself spend money on food here. 3 stars because the drinks were good and our server made us laugh. read more

Food and value go without mentioning, but a server like Catherine deserves exceptionally mentioning. Anyone can bring you food but the individual that can read a table or people is exceptional. I happily tipped Catherine $25,00 on a $ 36.00 tab. She brought laughter and joy to mine and my wife's weekly Tuesday visit. Although other servers have been good and received their expected 15% to 25% tip, Catherine deserved the 60% plus tip she received. We stopped in Taco Tuesday to enjoy this newly opened restaurant. Love the play on the name Juan Blancos. I've been waiting for this place to open for such a long time. It was very cool watching the transformation of this building. It's absolutely beautiful on the inside and such a fun vibe. The large bar invites you in, the decor is stunning in hues of white and cream, large booths make a statement, and the food is delicious. You're missing out if you don't experience the back Patio with a bar and fire pit. I felt like I was in a backyard with views of the golf course as the sun was setting. Menu has many options to choose from. The margarita flight was very good and of course we needed to explore the tequila menu. In a word, "Wow!". This is my first time here. My friend and I like to try new restaurants and try new drinks while we are out. Today we tried the Draft House Margarita. The drink was priced right at just $8.00. To my delight, the drink was served in the proper glass, there was both black and white salt on the rim, topped off with cute decorations; I loved it! I found the margarita to be a bit on the strong side. Also, I found it to be a bit too sweet for my liking. I only drank half but my friend drank every drop of hers. I've always preferred the regular margarita. But, I did enjoy the presentation of the cocktail. Our meals were served quickly. I ordered Tacos Mexicano's with steak and my friend had a burrito. I loved my taco's. Again, the price was right at $14.00. The rice and beans that accompanied the meal were also delicious. The best part of the meal was the salsa, it was cold, chunky with just enough spice to give it the perfect kick. There is plenty of parking available. My friend came over from the golf course where she and her friends just finished a round of golf. *Be kind and don't park at the golf course and walk over to the restaurant if you have no intentions of spending money at the golf course...that's just plain mean and rude. There was plenty of booths, tall and short tables to sit at. The rooms had high ceilings and the interior was surrounded by windows giving the place a happy and energetic vibe. The food was amazing and hot and the service was absolutely fast and incredible. Our server was Ellie and I didn't have to wait for anything. The best service ive ever had in a very long time! This is a "new concept" restaurant from Johnny Black's that opened in the old Warfield's bar. They completely remodeled it and it looks amazing. So modern and fresh and really inviting. They have tons of seating space and a large parking lot as well. We went at 3pm on a Saturday about a week and a half after they opened and it was busy! We were able to get seated right away but when we left there were a couple groups waiting for a table. They served chips and salsa to start and these were so good. The chips were warm and the salsa had a nice kick. They have a ton of menu options so it's kinda hard to choose but I feel like the tacos are always a good representation of the food at a Mexican restaurant so I went with the tacos Mexicanos - Al pastor. I do wish you could mix and match taco fillings since you get 3 but that's okay. These were literally so good! The perfect serving size and had so much flavor. My dad really liked his asada tacos and my mom had the Birria tacos. They both really enjoyed their meal as well. They have a large drink menu as well since they are also a tequila bar. I want to start out with my food was excellent. Kasie was my server. She took awhile to get to my table which it was busy so I understood. But she was not friendly at all. Okay we all have bad days. I order the fried ice cream and mention just honey because I don't like chocolate. It comes smothered in chocolate. I take a bite along with my sister and we just don't like it. So Kasie comes back over and gasps when told we don't like it and it has chocolate on it after requested no chocolate. She comes back with the check and the dessert is on my bill. My sister asks for it to be taken off because 1 it was made wrong and 2 we didn't eat it. Kasie got the look of death on her face and snatched the bill out of my sisters hand. I asked another employee for a manager. Waited 10 minutes and no one came over. I asked another employee for a manager. Again no one came. I went to the host stand and asked the hostess again for a manager and just didn't feel she cared or wanted to hear what I had to say. Very disappointed in the treatment and although my food was amazing I will try somewhere else from now on. With the economy the way it is I'll spend my money with people who don't treat guests in that manner. read more

The beans were the best thing I had. The al pastor tacos were the worst I have ever had, and I order them at every Mexican spot. These were big chunks of what seemed to be cut up pork chops - the flavor was off, they were not tender, the seasoning was blah, I did like how the pineapple chunks added a nice touch. The short rib tacos were better than the al pastor but still I thought the taco shells were almost doughy, not cooked on the grill. The Chocolate on the churros was not necessary. The manager tried to comp the drink my wife ordered and took away the drink my granddaughter had. When the Jumbo drink arrived, it was given to my wife, leaving my granddaughter with no drink. The manager was so interested in shutting me down, he left my granddaughter with nothing. Total idiot! Female waitresses, (kaitlynn) straightened everything out. She listened, delivered, and made a horrible experience better. Food was great, as usual, and Kaitlyn took the heat off a bad situation. After 45 + years in customer service, hotel, restaurant, bar, retail & grocery and restaurant owner for two years, I have learned to listen first, then apologize.
