The Sandbar is easy to miss if you're driving by. But, stop in and stay a while. You'll be glad you did. It wasn't busy, but it was still nice to get our order taken quickly after we sat down. The beer prices are reasonable, particularly on tap. But, my wife's Moscow Mule seemed a bit weak, and it cost more than the beer. The food arrived quickly, too, and everything was hot off the grill. My wife and I both got the salmon sliders. Each sandwich has a generous chunk of perfectly cooked salmon. I ordered the tater tots, which were amazingly crispy and flavorful. My wife got the same thing, with french fries. The fries are good, but I like the tots better. My daughter's mac & cheese was super cheesy and buttery, and just needed a little salt to make it perfect. My son got a burger with a fried egg on it, and he said it was nice and beefy. July 2025, I ordered the Cajun Alfredo. The noodles were overcooked, mushy and weren't drained. The sauce was a flavorless watery puddle. Aug 1st 2025, we gave it another chance(not my idea) My husband's hamburger /roast beef sandwich was missing the au jus that was the dipping sauce. My son's sliders were ordered with no lettuce, but had lettuce. My husband's tator tots tasted like the salt shaker top fell off. I ordered a Caesar Salad and their Onion Soup. What could go wrong? Went to eat here with two friends mind you we come to this bar at least twice a week. Had our service dog with us was told he wasn't aloud in the bar so we sat on the patio. Than was told by our server we were drunk so she couldn't bring us more than one drink mind you the girl I was with hadn't drank anything yet that day..... gave her a margarita with no liquor in it. Came here on a Friday night around 6:30. The inside was packed but the outdoor patio had some open seating. The outdoor patio had fake flowers for ambiance, but still a ton of bees (many in which came to my table a few times). Ordered to start were the frickles and brussel sprout salad. The frickles were a perfect fried food and the sandbar sauce was great. Not sure what it is made of but I loved it. The brussel sprout salad was divine and easily can serve 2-4 people. For entrees, we're the chicken Caesar wrap and Buffalo chicken sandwich. The sandwich was delishhhhh. So juicy and perfectly breaded. Would get again. Our server was nice, but inattentive. Never checked on the food or refills. I'd come back but would sit inside due to the insane amount of bees and flies outside swarming on and around my food. read more

She knew how picky was with my weird drink orders and asking for green olives on the side of my Margareta... She is an incredible bartender server suggested the fish tacos. Amazing! It's always hit or miss at The Sandbar, with service and food. The music is always very loud too, yet it is a bar so I understand. My last experience at the Sandbar was for my boyfriends birthday and we were the only people in the restaurant, the bartender went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and made our experience an overall great time. The food here is amazing! This was our first time eating here and we are shocked. We didn't expect the food at a bar restaurant to be so good. My wife had the CBLT Sliders. Came here after a day out on Lake St. Clair for dinner. Excellent service and food. The buffalo shrimp apptizer was delicious. I also had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was excellent. On a Saturday night, my wife and I visited this bar for drinks and some snacks. Really nice bar, lots of televisions with sports. Very clean and professional looking. The only problem? We sat for a half-hour at a table waiting...no one came to wait on us. The wait staff was laser-focused on helping the regulars. We walked out the door. No one tried to stop us or ask why we were leaving. We live in the neighborhood and there are other bars. Too bad because I'm never going back. Had a great meal at this local little gem. I was there on a Wednesday night about 7, so no loud band or music. Sat down right away and was greeted and got drinks immediately. Very good and friendly service. Had the chips, guacamole, and salsa starter. Good guacamole and fresh, warm chips. I had the chicken fajita wrap and my friend had the buffalo fried chicken sandwich. This place was packed! It was a younger crowd in their 20s-30s. My friend and I had ordered Pomegranate Martini's since they were on special and it's our favorite drink. They were absolutely disgusting. My friend asked if we could get something else instead, since they were so gross. We ordered Nachos too. Those were disgusting as well. They had cold canned cheese on the top... The waitress asked us what we wanted to drink instead of the pomegranate martinis and we said 'cranberry & vodka'. Will not be back, the food is amazing for a bar and I think that's the only reason I came back over the years. Years back the bartender/manager Christine (still a shock she's allowed to manage!) Gave my boyfriend & I terrible service, nobody was in the bar it was noon on a Tuesday. I told the owner about the incident, he obviously could care less about the quality of service. I kinda wrote them off back then and starting coming back again. I ordered The Farmer burger which has cheese bacon and a fried egg. MMMMM the burger was spot on perfectly medium rare and the egg done over easy was bursting with yolk, no hard edges to the egg which is easy to do. My dining companion had the Sandbar burger which was just as good w/ let,tom,bacon, cheese and jalapenos. We had ordered the spinach artichoke dip as a app which was served nice and warm with very tasty tortilla chips which seemed housemade. His burger was so dry, he couldnt eat even eat a quarter of it. I ordered the grilled baja fish tacos. My tacos were so greasy, i couldnt even get through one.. We definitely are not ones to complain but it was very bad. Then it got even better when i told our waitress about it. Just moved to the area and wanted to try this place out for carry out. I'm not overly cautious or sensitive about Covid 19, however, no rules were being enforced. I had to go up to the crowded bar to pick up my food where nobody, including the bartender, were wearing masks. None of the waitresses or customers were wearing masks. I understand you don't have to wear them at your table, but people were walking all around without them. It made me very uncomfortable to be in the restaurant at all. When I got my dinner it blew my mind away the fillet was not a petite little filet mignon it was an 8 ounce filet that was cooked to perfectly, The lobster tail was a 5 ounce tail which was very surprising again it was boiled melted in your mouth. Everybody at the table loved the food it came in a timely manner and service was excellent. The biggest surprise was the bill I'm talking a beautiful surf &. Turf and it was only $25 not $50 or $60 like other restaurants with smaller portions. I Have to give a shout out to the bartender to (Long Island's) which were only five dollars apiece and I'm talking a 16oz. glass not a Dixie cup were excellent too. They've got a great draft rotation and it's an absolute no brainer "bar setting" that's still good for families.
