They were suppose to be done in 4 weeks and I called them when they were suppose to be complete (I was out of town) and they told me they had not even started the floors and they should be able to start in 2 additional weeks! That was frustrating especially because there was zero communication that they were so delayed. When I got home there was a pile of plywood in the middle of my house about 4 feet tall. I have two little curious kids who started climbing all over the plywood and it seemed extremely dangerous. So I texted them to please remove the plywood ASAP because my kids were climbing all over them and they were in the middle of the house and I asked them to move it to a different room where I could close the door. They then told me that they quit the project (after they tore up all the previous flooring). They said they were busy with bigger projects and this was a smaller project and too difficult to match the stain since a few years have passed and the stain color changes with time. I was in a pickle because they were the only ones with the custom wood and stain. So I had to hire a contractor who told me that they were the only company who could do the job and he convinced them to finish the job. The end result looked beautiful, but I don't recommend them at all.

When Rob came out, he did all of his measurements and explained everything in detail to me. There was no pressure for me to buy anything from ATX. I honestly could not be happier with the quality of laminate floors that I received, and DEFINITELY could not be more impressed with the installation job done as well. The inspector found that the tile glaze was the problem. Door-to-Door Flooring does not guarantee the tile they install. I asked them to replace all of the tiles they had installed. They offered to replace the tiles with visible pits/holes. Last week (1.5 years later), 42 tiles were replaced and we were given several boxes of additional tiles for future replacement. I cannot recommend Door-to-Door Flooring. We went to Door-to-Door Flooring seeking high-quality tile. We were sold seconds at first quality prices. Select a company that sells first-quality tile and guarantees their tile.

STEER CLEAR: HILL COUNTRY FLOORING…read more Please learn from my mistakes. I started a bathroom remodel with another contractor who was highly underqualified and took on too big of a job. He tiled my primary shower without hardy board or any waterproofing and left the shower valve leaking behind the wall. Chris Campbell of Hill Country was very helpful at first. He revealed to me how poor the other contractors work was and showed me mold infested walls surrounding my shower. At that point, I released the other contractor and engaged Chris to complete the work. Chris/Hill Country started out fast and furious, but quickly turned to weeks with no action at my house. He was also quick to demand payments, but never sent workers. The workers that did show up all complained that Chris does not pay them fairly nor on time. Hearing that started to explain why it was so hard to get workers out to my house to finish the job. There were no fewer than three different subs sent out to cut one arch in a wall between my kitchen and dining room. The last sub was of such poor quality that he redid the arch twice, and it still looks like a kindergartener did it. I had ordered some cabinets for this same space, which Chris said were ready weeks ago. But once the arch was "completed" he said there was an issue with some of the doors and that they would be delivered the following week. A week later, the cabinets never showed up. I still have never seen these cabinets. The more I pressed Chris and asked for explanations and schedules, the more he ignored me. He does not respond, he will not answer his phone, he does not come out and check the work of subcontractors. He talks a really good game but does not deliver. Do not use Chris Campbell of Hill Country Flooring . You will regret it.

We began working with Hill Country Flooring earlier this year to help us remove carpet in our…read moredining room and replace it with laminate flooring. When we first reached out to them, they were very responsive and polite. Shaine gave us a quick estimate. He was very good at helping us choose flooring. There were a few delays in scheduling our service, but nothing that was a red flag. On the day of install, the worker showed up before Shaine and unfortunately spoke no English. While not a problem, we do not speak Spanish and had trouble communicating right off the bat. When Shaine arrived we hoped he'd be able to communicate with this worker. But Shaine spoke about as much Spanish as we did. Which was our first red flag. After pulling up the carpet, the worker only used a small amount of leveler which was our second red flag. When the worker finished placing all the panels and left, we immediately noticed the majority of the floorboards were loose (third flag). We messaged Shaine and didn't hear back for several days (all the red flags). Finally he returned our calls and sent the worker back to our house. The worker returned, pulled up all the floor boards, and added more leveler. This still didn't help. I'll give the worker credit, he stayed at our house until 8pm trying to fix it the best way he could. But clearly he was out of his element with this material. We texted Shaine and asked him specifically to come back and look at the issue and see what could be done. That is when he stopped responding. Both my husband and I called, texted, and reached out with every form of communication for weeks with no response. Finally, we called three other contractors we trust to come look at the issue. They all were appalled by what they saw. The type of laminate we ordered required a pad to go underneath that was not mentioned to us at all. They also did not pull up the baseboards to allow the floors to go all the way to the wall, leaving gaps on the edges of our flooring. All three contractors told us that Hill Country Flooring screwed up this job and they recommended we contest the charges for materials on our credit card. Which we did. While we waited on their response we discovered lawsuits that have been filed against Chris the owner. We've discovered that in the past two years they have screwed over multiple contractors and customers. It looks like Chris is attempting to open an media consulting firm now that is also getting called out for being a scam. I looked at all the reviews and I saw they had overall a good rating. I wish I had looked at the most recent reviews. I would have clearly seen how far this company has fallen.

Summary: I would NEVER use this contractor again…read more I purchased my flooring from Floor & Decor and was STRONGLY encouraged to use their contractors - Installation Made Easy - which turned to be Angel Superior Flooring (ASF). The estimator, Rosie, said we had just over 1,000 sq ft and the installers would do 200-300 sq ft per day so we estimated 5 days. We planned to be out of town for a week starting April 17. We discovered that ASF would not paint the molding - we paid them to move all of the furniture (about $700) and put it all back when they were done, but that would leave us with heavy furniture against a wall that would need to be moved again for the painter. Grrr. We decided that ASF would leave the furniture away from the walls and then the painter would come in, paint the molding, and put the furniture back. It's heavy wood furniture and we're too old to be dealing with it. We scheduled all of the material to be delivered from F&D for April 16. On the morning of April 16, one of the ASF installers showed up ready to start work. We sent him away since we had no material and he was a day early. F&D delivered the material shortly before noon on the 16th. The missed the shoe molding required for this project so I phoned and had it scheduled for the next day. The next day, the molding showed up before ASF did so we were back on track. The shopping list that ASF gave us was for 255' of shoe molding. It comes in 16' pieces so F&D sold us 16 pieces. We left on our trip. I discovered on my trip that my Internet went out. It acted like the T-Mobile gateway was unplugged. I had left explicit instructions for them not to unplug it because we have things that need Internet (like our irrigation system). I texted ASF on Monday morning asking them to plug it back in again when they got and was told the job was already completed - they went for speed and not quality. They said they didn't touch the gateway. They lied - it was unplugged at the gateway end so they likely knocked it off the shelf, it became unplugged, they put it back and didn't say anything. That was the least of our problems... The painter showed up the Friday while we were gone to finish painting the shoe molding. He texts me pictures showing scuff marks all over the floor - he noticed this before he even started painting. So I texted ASF and they said they'd send somebody over on Saturday to clean them up. We got home from our trip 2 days early on Saturday night. I see scuff marks all over a filthy floor. I pulled the electronic door lock logs and see that they were here for 6 minutes. So they walked in, looked around blindly, and didn't do a darn thing and left. My wife spent a good part of Sunday vacuuming and mopping the floor. We then spent time with postit notes beside every scuff mark and a couple of dents on the floor and told them to come back and fix them. We also emptied out the cardboard from our garbage can and put it in the recycle can, and we finished picking up the garbage that they left outside. Our neighbor had already picked some off the driveway and some out of our garden. The painter immediately noticed that there was a mixture of shoe molding and quarter-round used for the project. One of the closets didn't have either shoe molding or quarter-round! I asked ASF and they said they ran out of shoe molding. Their supervisor, Ivan, said they only used quarter-round in the closets where it wouldn't be noticeable. I pointed out that part of the master bedroom had shoe molding and part had quarter-round. The hallway also had a mix facing each other. They matched the corner joints by slathering silicone over them. Ivan said they used 50-60' of quarter-round so they either missed the estimate by over 20% or F&D didn't deliver what I paid for. I'll never know which it was. The supervisor offered to replace the quarter-round with shoe molding. However, it would be OUR expense to buy the shoe molding, and OUR expense to have it repainted. I told him we weren't going to do that but I wasn't happy about it. When they came today, they cleaned up all of the marks with acetone, did a nice job on the shoe molding in the closet (they were struggling to get around shelving in there), and ended up replacing 1 tile that was dented. Ivan tried to say that it wasn't dented at all and it was my imagination, and the flooring guy today tried to say somebody else must have dented it - but there was nobody home between the time they left and when it was found. He then said it must have come that way from F&D and that it wasn't noticed during the install. ASF opened the packages and ASF put the flooring down. They need to pay attention to what they're installing. The master bedroom closet had a larger dent but to fix it would have meant removing and replacing the molding so we left it. Again, why did they install a dented piece in the corner of a closet? Overall, we have a new floor and we've made our final payment. But I can't say we're happy.
