They communicated when their guy would be in my area and could stop by to look at the job and give a quote. Price was very reasonable. They not only came out and gave a quote, but said they could do it that same day! Way sooner than other places that gave quotes but wouldn't be available for a week or so. Some places wouldn't even do a job unless it was $2000 or more to make it worth their time, which my job was in the low $100s at best. They listened to my concern about another board that looked to have a portion rotted and they were able to include replacing the rotted part and not create additional seams between the boards--something I hadn't thought possible! Highlights are: good communication, great workmanship, timely service, friendly service. I definitely recommend this business!

Hiring contractors is scary. It's right up there with hiring a mechanic. I consulted Yelp and read…read morethrough dozens of reviews for different contractors. We called 5 of them for estimates. We received a vast range of estimates. While Alberto was not the lowest, he seemed both fairly priced and knowledgeable. We got a bit overwhelmed by all that we were planning and backed off of our project for a bit. Then it took us a while to find slabs that we liked for our new counters. Once we did, we were ready to move forward. It had been 5 months. When we circled back around, we called Alberto, as we had previously decided that he would be the contractor that we would hire. He didn't seem to mind our delay, although his estimate did increase some. To be fair, this is 2023 and inflation has been terrible. We hired Alberto and his team (Alba Construction) to drop a pony wall, square off an arch, redo that drywall and paint in that area, paint 2 large 2 story interior walls, demo our kitchen counters, demo 4 bathroom vanity counters, demo the kitchen backsplash (in preparation for new counters and new backsplash), cap a pot light and drywall over, install 2 new drop lights over the kitchen counter, and install a pot filler line. He had 5-8 different guys that he lined up for different days and they each had different specialties. They showed up when he said they would and they did their jobs cleanly and efficiently. Alberto was also here working and supervising a good amount of the time. They cleaned up after themselves and finished on time. Overall, we are happy and wouldn't hesitate to hire Alberto again.

I had the opposite experience with Alberto. He really cares about helping people get the job done at very reasonable price. He was very communicative, punctual, patient, and even early. I would definitely hire him again.

Larry absolutely knocked it out of the park. We hired him to build a custom accent wall with an…read moreintegrated fireplace, and the finished product exceeded every expectation we had. This was an important project for us because the wall is now the centerpiece of our living room, and Larry treated it with the same level of care and attention to detail that I imagine he would give his own home. From the very beginning, Larry was kind, honest, straightforward, dependable, and incredibly easy to work with. There was never any pressure, games, or wondering where we stood. He communicated clearly, explained what he was doing, offered thoughtful recommendations when decisions had to be made, and was completely transparent throughout the process. It is increasingly difficult to find someone in the trades who combines genuine integrity with excellent craftsmanship, but Larry is absolutely one of those people. The quality of his work is outstanding. The accent wall came together beautifully, the fireplace installation looks clean and professionally integrated, and the entire project has a polished, custom-built appearance rather than something that looks like it was simply added onto the room. His attention to detail, patience, precision, and pride in his work were obvious throughout the entire job. He also respected our home, kept the work area organized, and made sure everything was finished properly rather than rushing just to get to the next job. Beyond the craftsmanship, Larry is simply a good, honest person. He is personable, respectful, trustworthy, and the kind of contractor you feel completely comfortable having in your home. That means a great deal to us. When someone is working inside your house for an extended period, character matters just as much as technical skill, and Larry gets five stars in both categories. We could not be happier with the finished accent wall and fireplace. It has completely transformed our living room and turned what was once a plain wall into the focal point of the entire space. We have already received compliments on it, and every time we walk into the room we are reminded that hiring Larry was absolutely the right decision. If you are looking for someone who is honest, skilled, dependable, fair, meticulous, and genuinely cares about the quality of his work, I cannot recommend Handyman Services By Larry highly enough. We would hire him again without hesitation and will absolutely be calling him for future projects. Five stars does not feel like enough. Thank you, Larry, for the beautiful work and for being such a pleasure to work with. Highly, highly recommended.

My first review was well over four years ago - and I thought it made sense to surface John again…read morepublicly, most notably due to the continued care and attention he gives our rental property out in East Austin. We are in the midst of a tenant turnover (not the best time as a landlord), and having the home sit idle for any amount of time seems like an eternity. But that's not how it is with John. Two days after the tenants moved out, John supported us by conducting a walkthrough of the place, highlighting areas that needed some attention, and got to work. He brought his mower and lawn edger to do some landscaping, flushed the water heater, fixed the front door lock (after troubleshooting it live with a support agent), tightened up some loose cabinetry in the kitchen and bedrooms, and even cleared out the garage of dust and loose debris. John is incredibly thoughtful and is a great communicator - thorough and complete. He actually takes care of the home like it is his own, and honestly, that level of detail and support helps me ensure that I can stand behind the value & security of home when it goes back on the market for the next tenants. John - thank you for continuing to be you. We appreciate you more than you know.

What an aptly named company, because yes, I do in fact, love this handyman service…read more We had paid Home Depot to deliver and install our new dishwasher. When they showed up they said, "Nope there's a piece of wood trim in the way, and we can't," and they left. Literally that's all they said... and left. So I begin the process of calling around to plumbers and handy men. John is the only person that could squeeze our small project in, and when I say "squeeze" I mean it. He (like many others) was booked solid, BUT he went SO far out of his way to make it to our house. Even hanging around for a while in our part of town when I missed his call and it took me over an hour to get back to him. I couldn't believe it. He's clearly not short on business, so the fact that he was concerned enough about his costumer to just wait around and see if we would get back to him boggles my mind. He had SURGERY scheduled for the next day, and was so concerned that if he didn't get to our call that night he wouldn't be able to for some time. Again, he's not short on work, he just cared that it would be a nightmare for us to go that long w/o a dishwasher. Now you would think, busy as he is, with surgery the next day, and late in reply to him as we were, that he would rush the job. NOPE. He stayed here for hours making sure he did the job right, and he was a very pleasant "house guest" as well. Funny stories about his work. Tips about other "jobs" around our house that came up in conversation, and actually tips too, not just fishing for more work: "Oh yeah you could do that yourself, you just need XYZ and to watch out for these things." The dishwasher is installed, run beautifully, and the price was absolutely fair and appropriate. I probably would have paid more. Especially considering how long he was here, and that our instillation did have a few unexpected issues. Again you might worry with other companies, that all the polite conversation it racking up the price, but no way, not with John. Read the name of this business and believe it. You will love this handyman service.

First and foremost, he has excellent communication, which is huge for me. He was very responsive, explained everything, and promptly answered any questions. Before and during the job, he also kept me updated. I was considering another handyman for this gig but his replies were full of non sequiturs. It was a no brainer to go with Eric. On top of everything -- Eric does siding repair, which isn't widespread. Most (if not all) siding companies won't do repairs, only replacements. Even worse, I had a hard time finding all that many handymen that did this sort of work. Glad I found Eric. Ultimately, he did a great job replacing a siding panel (had some rotted wood around a defunct dryer vent). He found the closest match and did a thorough and careful job. Oh and last but not least, his prices are reasonable. Don't hesitate.
