I just bought a new refrigerator from Home Depot. When the crew from Home Depot went to hook up the water line they saw that there was a copper tube soldered to the faucet and they weren't able to hook up the line. So they sent a plumber out to fix the problem. PDQ arrived on time - instantly went to work on the problem. Told me exactly what the issue was and how they would fix it. They were great!! Water line is hooked up and new fridge is making ice. I highly recommend PDQ Plumbing and want to give a shout out to Winston and Tim for their thoughtfulness, professionalism and basically doing a great job. I've been a Realtor in the Austin metro area for 20 years and have recommended or hired too many plumbers to count for clients or my own needs. I hired PDQ for a recent job in Cedar Park for a relocation client, a home seller who lived out of state at the time of the work. The home was vacant. The contract job was $1,650 to replace a difficult to reach 10ft section of pipe. They got right on the job, which is why we hired PDQ; they were able to start almost immediately. That, and they were recommended by another agent in the transaction. The work was completed quickly, however PDQ made no mention that it would be our responsibility to call the gas company once the work was done and post City inspection. I'm not sure if that is a City requirement or just the way PDQ does business, but in any event they left a vacant home in cold weather with no heat and clients thinking all was well. It is my fault for assuming the gas would be left on when the work was completed, but a word of warning would have been super helpful. Thankfully the freezing weather had passed the weekend before, or what was simply an inconvenience to the new owner could have been a more serious issue. PDQ also left the section of gas line removed on the garage floor and indicated they do not clean up unless paid extra to do so when asked about it. Also a surprise and also something that could have been avoided if mentioned; my client would have gladly paid as time was of the essence at that point. I'm not saying there was any breach of the contract, as the contract for the work doesn't address my complaints. But I'm confident I can and will do better with another company next time I need plumbing work competed. In doing business this way they left a bad taste with me, the new owner, and owner's representative. read more

Like many others it seems, I too had an absolutely horrible experience with PDQ Plumbing. I hired them to get help with low water pressure and was told that a new water line would solve the problem. Not only did it not solve the problem, but they destroyed my yard in the process and failed to get the permits cleared for their work. I've never felt more taken advantage of in my life. They failed to communicate accurately (ultimately I believe they directly lied) on what they were going to do in the process and were horrible to work with once things went south. Based on my experience, I would describe PDQ Plumbing as untrustworthy and deceitful. I would highly suggest that anyone looking to do business with them to do your research. Contact the Texas State Board of Plumbing Auditors and ask to see any and all complaints made against PDQ in the past. It's your right as a consumer to do your research. You should also look at individual county court websites. You'll find that PDQ has been taken to court several times in the past (something they openly admitted to me at the end of this nightmare). There are so many options out there when it comes to getting plumbing work done. I would STRONGLY suggest you consider someone other than PDQ Plumbing. read more

PDQ is EXTREMELY responsive and I couldn't be happier with the customer service. The are courteous and knowledgeable! I had a line back up in my yard, and once they came out discovered it was something the city should handle. They made the recommendation when they could have charged me $200+ to fix it instead. I highly recommend PDQ. We called them yesterday, and they were able to get a plumber to our house this morning! The issue wasn't urgent, simply fixing a leaky faucet outside and replacing a shower head. I'm certain that if it had been an emergency, they would have had someone here sooner. It was very quick service. They were also friendly on the phone and gave me a very reasonable estimate. The plumber, Danny, arrived on time, and all the work was finished within 30 minutes. Home Depot assigned PDQ to install our dishwasher in Austin. I have leukemia thus am high risk for Covid so we requested a vaccinated plumber. The guy who called assured me NONE of their 42 employees was vaccinated and in fact he was fairly certain there was not a plumber in Austin that was vaccinated. We were quoted one price for a faucet replacement and the popup drain. After they replaced the faucet, said it was extra for the popup, which they said was never part of the quote. THEN, after some difficulty with the popup, charged us extra for removing the base to get to the pipes. We will never use this co. again. We ended up paying $180. more for just that faucet popup than the original quote. I noticed much later that they had chipped off a small piece on the underside of the pedestal sink base they had worked on. read more

I would NOT recommend PDQ Plumbing for any services. Please note that I have never used them and just never plan to at this point. They had a truck coming up Mopac today with an appliance in the bed rolling around and bouncing into the air. It got enough height to almost make it over the tailgate. I backed way off, and kept my distanace, but felt like maybe they should be made aware, so they could have them pull over and secure it and avoid an accident. The man that answered the phone proceeded to be condescending and make excuses, rather than just say thanks and that he'll pass it on. So I hung up because I was trying to be kind, not start a fight. He tried to call me back, but I didn't answer as he made it obvious the first time that the conversation would not be productive. So then he texted me from his personal cell number. I first used PDQ plumbing in 2004 when my wife and I opened The Studio Kitchen in Round Rock. I was my own general contractor on building a commercial kitchen and with a limited budget I wanted to deal directly with my plumber and not some big corporation. Danny and his wife Tana were personally involved in everything that was done. It was a major job and all went off very smoothly. When a previously installed hot water cylinder went out a year or two later I called PDQ again and the experience in getting it handled was equally good. Then in 2012, we decided to make some major changes in our kitchen layout and I called them back again. This time Danny and Tanna's son was now an official (fully qualified) part of the team. They came in and started work once our chefs were gone for the day and worked all through the night and had it all completed the next morning! The work was beautifully performed and everything works perfectly. I am really, really pleased. Called this company in the midst of a quasi-emergency situation. Was told it would be a minimum of $97.50 for them to come. Long story short, they came rather quick, assessed the situation, said they couldn't do anything and to call for a 2nd opinion from an AC company. (I know, it's an AC issue, but involved clogged drains into main drain system of commercial building and AC company had suggested a plumber). They proceeded to collect payment. I scoffed, and the plumber asked why, to which I responded I did not feel they did anything except say they couldn't do anything. BUT I SAID I WOULD PAY, albeit begrudgingly. Then he said, how about we let this one go and maybe you will remember us in the future if you have plumbing issues. I said I appreciated that, but again offered to pay. He said no, I'd rather you be happy. I was; and I intended to write this review with an excellent rating. And I would have gladly called them in the future. Now, 4 days later, their office calls demanding payment. I told the lady about the conversation cited here, and she said after review with the owners, they wanted to be paid. So I gave payment because, as I said, they did come to our business, but again I said I was not happy with the service (nothing done). So, ending moral is, I will remember this company in the future, but not because of their wonderful service. I will remember to NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN, and I will tell everyone I can to NEVER CALL THEM for service. EDIT AFTER COMPANY RESPONSE: another plumbing company came and flushed the drain lines, which is what I asked PDQ to do. Then the AC company re-strapped the lines. PDQ recommended a total overhaul of the drain lines, but this was not necessary. Yes, I knew the price, yes, I ended up paying. I was not angry with the tech, he was very nice. I didn't like the way any of this was handled from the "diagnosis" to how this was handled afterwards when goodwill was extended and then taken away. I would have been a loyal customer perhaps if you'd even called to discuss. But whoever called for payment after 4 days was quite curt, like I had refused to pay or something. Again, I had offered to pay the technician 2x. You should probably just say your service call to APPEAR is $97.50, not $35 with a diagnosis for the remaining $62.50. Although the issue wasn't the amount because I in fact paid even more to have the lines flushed by a PLUMBING company. read more

My commercial building was having a plumbing emergency at 4pm on Friday. I was calling every plumber in Pflugerville, trying to get someone to come in immediately. PDQ claimed they could be there in half an hour, so I stopped calling around and waited for them. An hour later, I called and was told that I should have received a call already from the plumber. 10 minutes later, I did (this is 70 minutes after he was being "immediately dispatched to my location). He informed me that he was just leaving Taylor but could be to my location in about an hour (or more than 2 hours after my initial call). He showed up after 6, removed the clog in the main line, then told me that there was more stuff but he couldn't get it and would need a camera to do anything more. But he doesn't do camera work after hours. Well, it's only "after hours" because you took 2 hours to get here, instead of the promised 30 minutes. I called S & D Plumbing immediately after and had a wonderful experience. If you were thinking of using PDQ Plumbing, just search S & D Plumbing instead. To make matters worse for PDQ, they called me Monday morning to get paid - and charged me the "after hours" rates because they didn't start the work until 6pm. Pros: I called PDQ because I noticed my hot water heater was leaking and needed it fixed asap. PDQ was great on the phone and got a plumber out to me in just a couple hours. The plumber came in, fixed the part and was done in just a few minutes. He also recommended someone who could help with the water damage. The only reason I went 4/5 instead of 5/5 was I felt it was a little pricey for the quick fix that it was. The "fixing" part took about 5 minutes. -- Cons: I decided to move my rating down to 3/5 stars. Again, the 3 stars are for the service and professionalism. They lost another star after I looked up some pricing. When I looked up the part I was charged $150 for on my bill, the MOST expensive one I could find was $30. On average, most cost $15. So, 500-1000% mark up on a part when you're already paying $125/hr (with a 1 hr minimum) and an additional trip charge seems incredibly excessive. I totally understand having a mark up on parts. I feel companies need to make some money. I would have understood if there was a 100% mark up, but not 500-1000%. I think it is hard to find a company you trust, especially when it comes to repair work (cars, plumbing, contractors, etc.). I had trust in this company when I agreed to have the leak fixed...because I needed it fixed. After looking up the costs and talking to my grandfather, who is also a plumber in another state, I felt very taken on this deal. I called PDQ Plumbing on the recommendation of a close friend due to a major clog in our kitchen that was spilling out of a drain pipe in our garage closet. The guys that came out and I informed them that my father-in-law (a retired handyman) was unable to free the clog with a 20 ft sewer snake. They proceeded to use an auger and came to me indicating that they could not go any farther because our very old cast iron pipe had been damaged. The guys informed me that this was very serious and there was no other solution than to replace that area of pipe. I was then informed that there were only two options - to dig up the concrete slab and go that way - or to tunnel under the house and reach the damaged pipe. I was encouraged to go with the more costly (but supposedly faster) choice of tunneling. They told me that they would not have to pull a permit (which would be the case with the concrete; a process they said could take months) and while the cost was very high, it would be done in a week or so. Bottom line is they wanted to charge me around $5,000 to tunnel and replace the pipe without any confirmation but the plumbers "instinct" that it was broken. I told him that I would like to have someone else come out for a second opinion. At this point I got a polite but hard sell that they "were the cheapest we would find" and that any other plumber would come to the same conclusion and charge more. I promptly called another plumber who came out and within a half hour discovered that PDQ COMPLETELY WRONG in their diagnosis. Not only was the pipe not broken, PDQ did not bother to notice (or ignored) that the pipe goes down and to the right, so they were hitting the pipe wall, not a broken area. The other plumber fixed the clog very quickly through the clean out and charged us $175. PDQ was horrible and lazy with no problem scamming me into a very costly and unnecessary repair! read more

These guys were the only ones to come out for an emergency call on a Saturday, when about a dozen other plumbers said they couldn't. Not only did they come out, but they identified and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently, did not charge an arm and a leg for the call, recommended a course of action, executed that as well, and did everything with courtesy and professionalism. Had a small leak in the front yard. Didn't know what kind of problem this leak was coming from. My husband contacted PDQ online and they called back **quickly** and was able to get a plumber out the next day (Saturday!!). The plumber explained everything that was going on to my husband and showed him the leak. If I recall he was a owner son. He was extremely mannered and would say call my husband sir. He was able to run to Home Depot and get some supplies. Fixed in a few hours and then a finishing crew came to tie up loose ends. He explained a lot of information to us. His quote was close to the original quote. Seems like around here, you got to love a company that actually calls you backs and does a good job!! Highly recommend these guys. read more

Called them at 5 pm Friday and they gave me an appt on Saturday around 10am to noon. Very happy that they were able to get me in on short notice. Tyler came out around 10:30 and did a very thorough examination on my plumbing and even showed me other things that needed to be worked on that did not involve plumbing. He was honest about the work he needed to do and told me that I just needed it done on the near future. He was nice enough to not charge me the hourly rate and only the service call . Used these guys before, several times actually, so didn't hesitate to call them for this "small" job. They replaced a hose bib on the outside of the house. The part was $12 and the total bill was $175. I thought that was a little high for a pretty simple and small job. They do good work but may have to shop around for next job. read more

I used PDQ Plumbing after the snowstorm since our water heater was not working. Tyler was very nice and came out on a Thursday afternoon to look at it. He came to look at it and determined that the gas valve needed to be replaced. That Friday he was still trying to locate a part he advised if the supply house was open on Saturday they would come and install. I did not get a call Saturday or Monday so I followed up Monday afternoon. He let me know that they had to order the part. He sent one of his techs out to see if they could light manually which they could not do. Tuesday and Wednesday there was no communication so again on Thursday I had to be the one to follow up. That Thursday we finally got the part installed but when it was installed they noticed that when they tried to light it manually they broke the thermal cutoff switch. They advised that they would come back out to install that at no charge the next day. They never came so again I reached out to them the next Tuesday and he advised that he had to order. That was on Tuesday March 2nd. I have not heard anything back so I text on Wednesday March 17th and have not gotten any responses. I totally understand that they were swamped after the storms but no communication is so unprofessional as well as stating that they would be coming back to install a part that their employees broke. I was in panic mode when I came around the corner to find the seal had broken on my kids toilet and water was standing in the bathroom and into the hallway after 9:00 pm one evening a few months ago. I called around and was able to reach PDQ at night. The cost they charged me to come and replace the seal and check the pipe outside was higher than what it actually cost a more reputable and well known company to fix the entire issue (including digging up the ground outside, running the camera, etc.). Two larger companies said they don't charge to run the camera, it is part of the initial review. PDQ charged an astronomical amount just to do this. I was extremely disappointed to be ripped off by this company and would never recommend them. read more

These are the rudest people I have had to deal with in a long time. Our neighbors are tying their septic to the city sewer system. This really shouldn't affect us as next door neighbors much except PDQ Plumbing keeps parking their trucks behind our cars directly in line with our driveway. When I asked the onsite guy to please not park there, he was less than friendly, but agreed to move the truck. I come out this morning and not one but two PDQ Plumbing trucks are parked directly behind our driveway. When I asked why they couldn't park in front of the house they were working on (because it was totally void of vehicles) I got no answer. In fact I got no answer from the guy except when I turned to walk off and he made a comment behind my back that he refused to repeat when I turned back around. So I called the office number. The woman who said she handled complaints was even ruder. She informed me it was a public street and they could park there. Technically she is correct, but you would think they would be interested in good customer service. Obviously not. She did agree to ask them to move the truck. I wonder how long it will last this time. They also asked to cut off limbs from our 100 year old Oak tree to make it easier to work. We agreed to two small branches. When we walked outside. The branch appears to be snapped off not cut off and sealed. The ends were jagged. If this is indicative of their work ethic, I would not hire these people.
