I've used this company a couple of times now and both times they have excelled at service and price. The first time it was to replace the inside of a toilet that I thought was the pipes causing the noise. John told me it was just a faulty flushing device and all it needed was to be replaced. He was able to fix it and done in less than an hour. Just the service fee and actual cost of parts. Then just recently I had a leaky toilet (different one) and I called Benjamin Franklin plumber and this guy came over and gave me an estimate of $396 to replace the innards of the toilet. When I said no as I thought it would be under a $100 he told me those were handyman prices. I was thinking at that price I could replace the entire toilet. He then said he could give me a good deal and take off $93 of that. I sent him packing and called Boone Plumbing again. It was a different guy Clint I think it was. Super nice. He replaced the innards of my toilet and also installed a couple of bidet add ons to the toilets. All for under a $100. For all my plumbing needs I'll be calling Boone. FANTASTIC! I am so grateful to have stumbled upon Boone's Plumbing while I was circling the drain of desperation while trying to find someone to come out ASAP to convert my gas dryer to propane. Not only did they find the time to fit me in within a couple days, but they took the time to actually discuss what needed to be done and walked me through what I needed to do to save money by having what I needed on my end for them to get their job done without running into any hiccups along the way. I had to order a special part that was specific to my brand/model. With the help of Amazon, I got the part and they came to set me up with my new laundry room the next day! I called Landmark, our home warranty provider, to fix a leak under one of our bathroom sinks and John from BPS gave me a call first thing in the morning (I had called on Christmas Day and this was not an emergency). It was quick and easy to schedule with John and he gave us a four hour window. David and Jason called before they showed up and when they got here they were quick to diagnose the issue and figure out the correct parts needed. After a quick trip to get the parts and installation, the leak was no longer there! Everything was covered under our home warranty as well, including parts and labor. I am kicking myself for not reading the reviews on Boone plumbing first. I would never recommend this company due to the most HORRIBLE customer service. They were assigned to us through our home warranty company. We arranged for a date and time for him to show up (on a Wednesday between 1-4pm). That means someone will be there at my house between 1pm and 4pm. Prior to his arrival he did call however I was unable to answer the phone. In my experience with contractors this is a courtesy call to let the customer know they are on the way. I attempted 3 times to call back that afternoon and got no response and no call back. Boone never came to my house on the agreed upon day. The next day he calls me and wants to reschedule. I told him that this should have already been taken care of the prior day. He told me "you did not answer your phone; we don't have time to wait around so we moved on". Regardless if I answered my phone or not an appointment was set-meaning someone would be at my house at the agreed upon time frame! Otherwise I would call and let him know that we need to reschedule. I called my home warranty company to get my claim re-assigned to another contractor. Boone plumbing then contacts me to ask why I re-assigned the claim. I told him I did not care for the way he spoke to me on the phone. He literally laughed at me and hung up the phone. Not one time did he apologize for his behavior and for not showing up at the assigned time. Terrible customer service. read more

Requested a service call to fix the water heater. The plumber told me he fixed the water heater but it went off again 10 minutes later. I called the plumber (who supposedly has a 30-day service warranty) and he told me water heater needed to be replaced so he was going to submit a report to my home warranty to get it replaced. Plumber instead submitted a report that there are no mechanical issues with my heater and thus considers the issue closed. So plumber 1) did not fix my water heater, 2) did not submit a report to home warranty to have heater replaced as he said he would. So my time and money have been wasted and I still don't have hot water in the coldest time of the year. read more

On Monday Nov 11th Boone Plumbing, via home warranty, came out for a possible leak just outside my foundation. David arrived and quickly assessed the problem to be outside the home at a joint where they connect the PVC to the copper that goes into the slab. David set up an appointment for Thurs to come back and he said the job would be $450.00 barring any major problems. Since it was outside the foundation the home warranty probably would not cover it, sure enough the claim was denied. On Thursday David called and said they would not be coming but would be here on Friday. Since I had the day off on Thursday I rolled back a good section of grass trying to preserve it and dug a pilot hole in the area David said the main would be, since he does not use high tech gadgets those are for rookies. Unfortunately I could not be here on Friday since I had to work. My wife was present the day they came. David and his apprentice got here around 1100hrs, an hour after they called my wife and said they would be right over. They spent approximately 1 hr digging and they located the water pipe and the connection joint. In the process David hacked up both bushes in front of the house, he did say we may lose a bush before he began. Instead he hacked up both bushes cutting them in half. He told my wife he would remove them. After finding the joint, David and his apprentice left for lunch. 2hrs later they returned spent approximately 20 min to fix the problem and then clean up, and I say that sarcastically when you see the pictures you will understand. He destroyed the sod that was rolled back so it could not be used. I left him a trailer to use if he wanted to put the dirt, mud, that they were digging in so as not to destroy the yard more than necessary. He did not use the trailer instead trashed the yard. Upon completion David charged my wife $612.00 for the job. David told her he was only charging her 1 hour of labor. I happen to pull up to the house before they left. My wife advised me what they charged her and I went to speak with David. David's response to the new charge when I said you told me $450.00 was I don't pull out a shovel for less than $450.00 and I only charged 1 hr of labor. He then showed me his plumbing license and said this and my 22 years lets me charge this kind of price. It is that attitude and the condition of my yard is why I am writing this review. I caution anyone who considers using Boone plumbing to AVOID him at all cost before you get taken and left with his mess to clean up. read more

Call someone else as Boone provides VERY SLACK CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain receipt of bills paid and documentation of services provided from Boone Plumbing, 600 Territory Cv, Austin, TX 78613, 512-577-6833. I called Boone Plumbing on Jan 18, Feb 4, Feb 5, Feb 6 to obtain copies of bills ($1K+). John Boone has informed me that a) his wife is behind on her paperwork and/or she was out of town, and b) it would be a week to get them to me (on Jan 18). I do not have them as of Feb 22. Boone Plumbing was VERY responsive after the recent Texas freeze. My hot water heater broke and I received a top of the line replacement within just 2 weeks. All other plumbers were booking initial site visits a month out. I always received good communication and never felt forgotten about. David and his assistant came out to install my heater and replace 3 sink faucets/shower heads. They always had a professional attitude. I highly recommend working with Boone in the future. Was assigned to me through landmark. While fixing water heater put hole through ceiling, I understand accident happens and they fixed it, so 1 star for that. Kept storm crawler open and said need to get roofer to fix it since he couldn't climb and won't pay for it. Landmark is at fault as well since they didn't cancel his license. Didn't give me idea that I have to pay for roofer thing before starting job or when I asked is there any other fee besides out of pocket cost. Also needed to pay oopc right away when they fixed water heater and hole was still there in ceiling. Never one to put down others who write bad reviews, but sometimes the responsibility of the homeowner has a lot to do with outcome. I own several properties, and while I'm not a big fan of home warranty companies, sometimes precisely for the reasons so of the folks state (bad contractors!), this was definitely not the case with Boone. This company was assigned to us through Landmark Home Warranty. They had to come out twice to fix an issue. We asked them to provide us a write up of the work we paid to have addressed and they refused to provide any paper work and told us that we had to go through Landmark to get the information. Landmark told us the Vendor had to provide that and we went around and around. I never had an issue getting paperwork from any other Vendor that had done work thru a Home Warranty company. When I called Boone Plumbing asking for documentation needed for closing he was rude, told me he already went over this 5 times already and he isn't providing any documentation. They were fast to come out and take a look and thoroughly explained what they were going to tell the warranty company, what they would most likely approve and all of my options. Turns out they were spot on with their prediction (warranty company would take the cheap route and replace something that would likely go out again in a few months). I requested Boone be assigned to the job the second time I had to deal with the water heater and again - fast and professional and this time got the replacement. I had two plumbing companies assigned by Landmark warranty for 2 unrelated plumbing problems. Boone was assigned to fix my garbage disposal. They arrived in the early part of the appt window and completed the job in less than 30mins. Later that day, a different plumbing company assigned by Landmark arrived to fix shower handle valve stem. This 2nd plumber rejected the job and made a false claim to Landmark that the shower handle valve was damaged by excessive force and was tampered with by me. I called Boone back and they explained that damage was normal wear and tear and they had it replaced and fixed within 10 minutes. They knew the problem right away and had the part on their truck. David and Jason were friendly, helpful, and really knew what they were doing. It is great to know a good plumber, and these guys are good. read more

Called Choice Home on Saturday and later in the day received notice that Boone Plumbing was assigned our work order. Boone confirmed Monday morning and David and Kelly arrived shortly after noon. Quickly confirmed that disposal was cracked and required replacement. While waiting for approval, which took at least 1/2 hour, they flushed my hot water heater and gave instruction regarding future flushes. Installed the disposal quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after job completion. Would highly recommend Boone Plumbing. read more

Avoid at all costs. I recently bought a house and the previous owner had Landmark Home warranty. During the sale it was noticed that the hot water heater was leaking. The sellers called the warranty company and had Boone come out to fix the issues. I closed on the property and 3 days into prepping the house to move I realize the water heater is leaking again. I had kept Landmark as the home warranty and called them to tell them about the issue. They send Boone out again, who has already been at the house for the same issue 2 weeks ago. I get a call telling me it will be $600+ to replace my water heater. Had Boone fixed the issue when they first came to look at the water heater, I would not be paying out of pocket. I ended up getting it replaced with a completely different company and not using the home warranty because they also said I could only use Boone to do the repairs. NOPE! I refuse to have them do terrible work again. read more

Don't ever, and I mean ever use this company. First, the Choice Home Warranty claim was made on Monday that water was leaking in my kitchen. Boone Plumbing issued me a appointment email that they would be at my house on Wednesday between 11-3, BUT on Wednesday morning they called to reschedule not even to Thursday but Friday instead. I did not even make a fuss. Then they came, got denied by Choice (do not use Choice either, they denied a/c repairs and replacement last year) so I was on the phone with Choice and the repair guy says he has to go to his next call, which was in the next city over. I then asked before you leave will you be able to come back today and he said yes and that it would be $250. Then when I called to have him come back, the owner says by the way we cannot come today and it will be another $85 service fee on top of the $250. I am not even sure if the repair guy was a licensed plumber or not, he handed me the owners business card, not his. STAY AWAY from this company. In my opinion they are crooks, trying to get two service fees for the same job. The owner John Boone has no customer service skills at all and does not stand behind what his employees promise or say. read more

David with Boone Plumbing Services was assigned to us today by Landmark (our home warranty company) when we called about no longer having any hot water. David called us to schedule a time for him to come to our home to look at the problem within the time Landmark said he would. He followed up and arrived during the scheduled time period that he said he would. He figured out the problem very quickly, went to retrieve a new hot water heater for us, and installed it as efficiently as he possibly could. Had water leaking from wall. Was told on Wednesday that they would be able to take care of the issue the next day on Thursday. When Thursday came, they told me they would not be able to take care of me until Monday! The gentleman on the phone was very rude/indifferent in telling me. Lost a day and had to find a new plumber after waiting for them. Also, they don't answer their phone. Had to leave several voicemails before getting a call back several hours later. Boone Plumbing Services was one of the vendors recommended by Landmark Home Warranty. He came out gave and estimate that landmark said I would be responsible for 705.00 of the bill. I did some checking with out local building inspector, and one of the thing he said that needed to be done was not required in our area. When I questioned him on this he said he could not do business with me, he had the right to back out because clearly I did not want to pay. Not that I did not want to pay, but I did not want to get price gouged. I did tell him that I do check on people because my Mom was taken advantage of in CA by a plumbing company that I went to the State contractors board on. He told landmark he was afraid he would be sued? Really for what? If you do quality work that does not happen. The ticket with landmark was assigned 5 times and twice to him. Finally they let me go out of network, and I found a local plumber who was a five star rating who explained and was not trying to over price us. Boone told me that if I got another bid I would see he was 25 - 30 percent less because he worked with landmark, and believe me that was not the case. I would not recommend him, and in reading yelp I noticed several bad reviews on him. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but the service I received was amazing. I called them because I was worried when I saw some water staining on my ceiling. They came right in and took a look. They were able to diagnose and apply a fix to the problem in an hour. In addition, John and Dave saw that there were some older parts in my toilet and that my front door had a loose screw and they fixed it right up! Very down to Earth guys and very friendly. They made me comfortable by explaining the problem and letting me know what they were going to do and what they did. I definitely would recommend them! read more
