Started of 2018 with my Furnace/Central Heater not working. Contact 5 Star AC and Heating, via Yelp (on 01/01/2018). Submitted "request a quote" and within 10 minutes - I received a message from Henery. I called Henery and discussed the issue with my Furnace/Central Heater - within 30 minutes. Henery dropped by and resolved my issue. Very friendly, honest and professional! Would HIGHLY recommend, and definitely worth earns good & worthy referrals. A+++++ on a NEW YEAR! Thank you Henery - God bless your heart in what you do! read more

I worked for this company as a subcontractor and they did not want to pay me, I do not recommend it at all. It is not an honest company.

On one of the hottest days this summer, our AC stopped working at around 8:40pm. We did a quote request via yelp and the issue was completely resolved within an hour. Henry was super knowledgeable, offered great service, and at a reasonable cost! Before coming out, Henry called us and walked us through a self diagnosis to see if we could fix the issue ourselves. He was very honest and told us how to fix the issue in order to save money, but since we are new to home ownership we decided to have him come out and fix it! Lastly, he also taught us how to keep up with the periodic maintenance. Will definitely use 5 Star again for any of our heating and cooling needs. Highly recommend 5 star! read more

Wow! Cannot say enough about Henery and the professional he is! He is friendly, caring, knowledgable, and most importantly does stellar quality work at a very fair and reasonable price. T-Stat went out late Friday evening and AC stopped working. Was not fun trying to sleep in a 82° bedroom. Not fun here in Texas! I used Yelp Saturday morning to find and review 5 Star AC & Electric in Pflugerville. After receiving text messages from Henery I knew right away he was my guy. As he was on another job site, he and I communicated through texts with steps I could take to see if I could resolve issue myself. He recommended a brand new t-stat to purchase from Home Depot Honeywell 6000 series. He walked me through steps to install it myself. That to me was education I always will take where and whenever I can! After new t-stat was installed, AC did come on and run for 15 minutes then would cut off with short cycles blowing the furnace fuse. Not knowing what the cause was Henery said he would need to come out. He found a frayed power wire in the furnace unit itself, replaced furnace capacitor. Then had a look at the main fuse box in garage and as I was with him, discovered all main power wires were not screwed down into switches! This was a huge surprise and spoke volumes of the builders who built this home. They were all just pushed in, and could easily be pulled out with your fingers. I will assume they have been this way since the home was built 10 years ago. After all fuse wires were tightened the AC worked again with no further failure! My home now gets colder than ever before my wife and I feel. I recommend 5 Star AC & Heating to anyone in Pflugerville if you want stellar, top notch, superb, quality service and fair pricing in your AC needs! I even tipped Henery a $100 for providing me the steps and knowledge he did and what to look for! That was and is invaluable knowledge to me. I will let all my neighbors know of 5 Star AC & Electric! Thank you Henery and I will use you for all my homes AC & Heating needs. Class act and stand up guy! Truly is 5 Star by every meaning of the word. Thank you again Henery! Extremely satisfied customer! Norm, Anna, and Denver Coddington read more

Henery came out next day on a Sunday to check out my heater. He was very knowledgeable on all HVAC equipment and gave me many tips on prolonging the life of mine. He even found one of my air ducts was being pressed down by some wires in the attic He fully met my HVAC needs for the time being and didn't try to up-sell me. I would definitely contact him again if I had issues in the future. read more

Your typical summer here in central Texas, go to sleep on Saturday night and wake up feeling warm on Sunday morning and the thermostat is indicating 80 degrees. The AC stopped working during the night!!!! We did a quote request via yelp after looking around and we found 5 Star AC and Heating and the issue was completely resolved within an hour. Henry was super knowledgeable, offered great service, and at a reasonable cost. Will definitely use 5 Star again for any of our heating and cooling needs. He does offer Spring and Fall checkups and Henry and the 5 Star crew are Highly recommended. read more

AC stopped working on Saturday. Called and talked to a woman who answered the phone. She said text her my name and address and she would let Henry know. Sunday comes around and still no phone call, called again, was told the same thing. She would let Henry know and would call us back. Its now Monday and still no phone call and no Henry. Not even a call back to say he is very busy, or any idea when he might be available. Called another company, Monday - problem fixed. Very disappointing considering he replaced our system 5 years ago and were were very happy with the service. read more

Henery was amazing! I called him on Saturday morning of Easter weekend as I noticed my AC unit fan outside kept on running when everything is supposed to be shut off. He said he will swing by later the same day and he did! We initially thought it was something major until we went up to the attic to find the furnace constantly running (something else was wrong). He fixed it within 10 minutes and everything was working good again. He serviced the house about 3 month before (in January) and he didn't charge me a dime this time. Offered him a bottle of beer which he took but didn't drink as he had another client after mine. Thank you! read more

I called yesterday and spoke to a lady who stated that she would check the schedule and call me back in 45 minutes. She never called back. I then called a second time and left a message. Nobody ever called back. I called again early this morning around 8:00. Again, nobody returned my call. Evidently they don't need any new business. Disappointing. read more

WOW !! Just WOW !! Five Star AC and Heating has customer service like no other company I have ever dealt with. We realized our unit was not cooling and called another highly recommended company, they did not have a tech available for this evening and referred us to Henery at 5 Star AC. NOW THAT IS A RECOMMENDATION! We called Henery at 7:15pm, and he arrived at our home in 30 minutes. (faster than pizza delivery) We had prompt, professional, and friendly service. Henery is knowledgeable, thorough, and patient . He gave us advice to improve our A/C's performance, and ways to save money on our over all cooling bill. His pricing is more than fair, and being a family man understood the need to stay in a budget. We always like to stay local, and support small business, we definitely will use Five Star AC again! Thanks Henery! read more

My last review in 2016 was excellent. I wanted to do a maintenance check after 3 years...no urgency but didn't quite go as planned. I called Suzie which seem to have been busy. After a second call I was able to get an appointment date set. The day of the appointment, no call, no show!! I called back a few times the following day, nothing. This is not the way to conduct a business. It's too bad, I truly liked Henery. read more

I've used 5 star at least four times and I've always been happy with Henery and his work. No bsing no up selling, just comes out does the work. Thanks as always for coming out again to fix my AC! read more

Extremely rude. Wanted to charge multiple trip charges even though they could have asked simple questions over the phone. They waived the charges eventually but after I put up a fight. Will not recommended them to anybody. Superuser how they got a descent rating. read more

Our AC started acting up earlier this week-- it would stop cooling for a couple hours, then come back on for a few days. We called two other companies first-- one never returned my call, the other promised to send someone out but never did. Henery from 5 Star responded quickly, fixed it quickly, and the price was reasonable. We'll definitely be calling 5 Star again for all future AC needs! read more

Heat stopped working downstairs. Called 5 Star AC and Heating. They came out within an hour. Henry was friendly, professional, and extremely honest. Part was purchased and installed within hours. Grateful that I found this company and will be calling them again if there are any more issues. read more

This is my first time using 5 Star AC and Heating and also my first review on Yelp, or first review in a while, can't remember ‍. AC was acting up and decided to give them a call ASAP (wife and I try to do business locally) since the summer heat can be very unforgiving. Henery showed up when he said he would and asked what the problem was and if I had any questions. After diagnosing what the problem was, (previous work was done by a "friend of a friend") he went at it and fixed the issue within a reasonable amount of time and installation looked very professional. During the installation we struck up a conversation, just to pass the time, and was very friendly and courteous. I would recommend 5 Star AC and Heating to anyone who is looking for a reasonable and professional technician to get the job done right the first time. read more

YELP has done it again. The AC unit went down and after replacing the control panel, because the display was blank, I went to YELP to find some help. Henery at 5-star AC and Heating picked up immediately and said he would be over after he finished a current call. When he arrived it took less than a minute to find the problem.... a clogged drain line (Yup, embarrassed). Henery cleared the drain line and provide maintenance tips to prevent this from happening in the future. He also checked the system for leaks and provided some guidance on that too. Very knowledgable, courteous and professional. 5-star AC and Heating has a new customer... Thanks Henery! read more

Just wanted to update my review. We've now had them out 4 or 5 times since we moved in and we won't go with anyone else. He replaced our very old (1992) furnace and is very reasonably priced. Came out quickly to assess the problem and next day was able to come do the replacement. Very happy with this company! Call him, you won't be disappointed. read more

I had been shopping for almost a year to replace my A/C. I started by getting quotes from some of the big companies in Austin, and a few of the small ones. I hated most of their sales pitches. They either gave me an experience that was like buying a used car or they were like my dentist criticizing how I brush my teeth. Not Henery. He came out the next day and looked at my system. i told him I had gotten a great quote from another small company about 100 miles away and he said he'd see what he could do. I am glad to say 5 Star easily beat all the big companies with his detailed quotes and attention to my needs . While i did not pick Henery, I strongly recommend you get him to provide a quote, especially if you want a small, local company. Even after I let him know i chose someone else, Henery provided me great advice on what to ask for and look out for on the install - how to flush out the old and how to vacuum the old system. One of the bigger companies, wrote me a very nasty e-mail after i told them I selected a smaller provider - even though they were that way before. read more

Fantastic service and knowledge! Henery was great. He came out the same day, quickly identified the problem, told me the cost up front, and even suggested some other improvements to avoid the problem going forward. He did additional checks on my a/c unit outside, and again told me ways to improve the condition and get it to last longer. I couldn't have been more pleased - highly recommend! read more

Our A/C stopped working on a late holiday weekend and were thinking we would have to suffer through a super hot weekend given the lateness. We liked Henery on-line reviews and that he his business was close and gave him a call. He was professional in every sense and had that rare quality of being sincere and caring about our comfort. He came out that evening and was very knowledgeable in getting our A/C back up and running. I would highly recommend Henery business to anyone needing an honest and fair A/C repair. 5 Stars Plus! read more

I was very happy to find someone who could come out at 9:00 pm on a Thursday evening. Henery knows his business well, seems honest, and is able to give a good rate. I recommend him. read more

5 Star AC and Heating saved the day! Prior to using 5 Star, I had several other AC companies do repairs, provide false advise and unfortunately cost me a lot of money in unnecessary, poorly done repairs. It's hard to trust companies providing repair services for your home but you can trust in 5 Star AC. They will be my go to company for maintenance and all future AC work in my home. read more

Henry was amazing. We purchased a REME-HALO that we wanted installed and looked around for the best price. His price was more than reasonable and his response time was great. He came right out the next day, Saturday, and installed it in no time. He also gave us some advice on additional things we should do around the house with no pressure. Henry even gave us the name of a friend to assist us in some plumbing work we would like to get done. Trustworthiness and honesty is hard to find these days. Contact him if you need anything done, you will not be sorry. read more

Henery Pugh was great. He serviced my HVAC unit and inspected the thermostat and found it to be defective. He was going to install a new Nest (at a very competitive price) and found that the original wiring did support the Nest. He installed temporary thermostat (worked well) and returned the following week with another tech. They were able to re-wire the system and install a new Nest. He was professional and did not require any payment until the job was complete and I was satisfied with the work and the operation of the Nest. I highly recommend Henery. read more

Thanks for your help fixing the AC this weekend! It went off Friday evening and 5Star AC was the first to respond after leaving a voicemail. Can't say anything bad about this company/man. Called him about our AC issue earlier today and he was here in the afternoon as promised. I think his prices are very fair. He took he time and inspected the whole system. Even offered tip regarding our AC filters. He gave us a few options and even welcomed the idea of getting a second opinion from another local company. Very honest and didn't pressure us in choosing the more expensive route. This guy obvious knows AC. He explained everything in detail. Very knowledgeable. I have no doubts that he will fix our AC problem for good. I will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks Henery! Paul read more

I actually liked Henery very much at 1st & believe he had good intentions but he burst a water line installing a hot water heater. There was water all in the attic & it had leaked through the ceiling, smoke detector & onto the ceramic tile.He didn't even tell us it had happened.I had to slip in a large puddle wearing flats & fall to find this out.He was angry that we called Serv Pro to handle the water damage to prevent mold but we wanted specialists in that field.I have a large area of carpet missing & medical bills mounting up for sciatica & a pinched nerve in my neck.He hesitantly agreed to pay the Serv Pro bill but has informed me that all other bills will be handled through his attorney. He does not feel liable. All of this coinciding with the death of my son.If this was the one & only time he ever messes up it was a huge one & I would advise anyone & everyone to use another HVAC tech.He had promised that he would take care of whatever problems arose from his mistake.I have text msgs to back up every word I am saying. You take a big risk using Henery Pugh because he does not hold himself accountable & accidents DO sometimes happen even to the best workers & companies but that is the chance you take opening a business for yourself. You screw up,you fix it...but not at 5 star apparently. read more

Very good! Professional and courteous as well... Definitely recommend Henery for any a/c or heating issues...!!

We were having trouble with our A/C and two other companies, after charging us a few hundred dollars each, weren't able to fix it. We decided to give 5 Star a chance after reading positive reviews on Yelp and our neighborhood HOA discussion forum. Henery came out very shortly after we called, gave us a free estimate and, most importantly, CORRECTLY diagnosed the issue. Withing 24 hour of his initial visit to our home, we had glorious, precious cold air again! The rate he quoted was very reasonable, and he was incredibly honest and helpful. Not pushy or demanding, he's just a polite guy who knows air conditioning and wants to provide the best solutions for his customers. read more

Henery is an awesome guy to work with. I had been having issue with my AC (which is still under warranty), I had called for the warranty claim for a couple of times but those guys were not able to diagnose the issue with my AC. Heard about Henery on Nextdoor and decided to give him a call since Henery was offering free service call. He diagnosed the issue in no time. Also Henery educated me with so much information about my AC and Heating system and also advised me on maintenance.
