On one of the hottest days this summer, our AC stopped working at around 8:40pm. We did a quote request via yelp and the issue was completely resolved within an hour. Henry was super knowledgeable, offered great service, and at a reasonable cost! Before coming out, Henry called us and walked us through a self diagnosis to see if we could fix the issue ourselves. He was very honest and told us how to fix the issue in order to save money, but since we are new to home ownership we decided to have him come out and fix it! Wow! Cannot say enough about Henery and the professional he is! He is friendly, caring, knowledgable, and most importantly does stellar quality work at a very fair and reasonable price. T-Stat went out late Friday evening and AC stopped working. Was not fun trying to sleep in a 82° bedroom. Not fun here in Texas! I used Yelp Saturday morning to find and review 5 Star AC & Electric in Pflugerville. After receiving text messages from Henery I knew right away he was my guy. As he was on another job site, he and I communicated through texts with steps I could take to see if I could resolve issue myself. He recommended a brand new t-stat to purchase from Home Depot Honeywell 6000 series. He walked me through steps to install it myself. That to me was education I always will take where and whenever I can! After new t-stat was installed, AC did come on and run for 15 minutes then would cut off with short cycles blowing the furnace fuse. Not knowing what the cause was Henery said he would need to come out. He found a frayed power wire in the furnace unit itself, replaced furnace capacitor. Then had a look at the main fuse box in garage and as I was with him, discovered all main power wires were not screwed down into switches! This was a huge surprise and spoke volumes of the builders who built this home. They were all just pushed in, and could easily be pulled out with your fingers. I will assume they have been this way since the home was built 10 years ago. After all fuse wires were tightened the AC worked again with no further failure! My home now gets colder than ever before my wife and I feel. I recommend 5 Star AC & Heating to anyone in Pflugerville if you want stellar, top notch, superb, quality service and fair pricing in your AC needs! I even tipped Henery a $100 for providing me the steps and knowledge he did and what to look for! That was and is invaluable knowledge to me. I will let all my neighbors know of 5 Star AC & Electric! Your typical summer here in central Texas, go to sleep on Saturday night and wake up feeling warm on Sunday morning and the thermostat is indicating 80 degrees. AC stopped working on Saturday. Called and talked to a woman who answered the phone. She said text her my name and address and she would let Henry know. Sunday comes around and still no phone call, called again, was told the same thing. She would let Henry know and would call us back. Its now Monday and still no phone call and no Henry. Henery was amazing! I called him on Saturday morning of Easter weekend as I noticed my AC unit fan outside kept on running when everything is supposed to be shut off. He said he will swing by later the same day and he did! We initially thought it was something major until we went up to the attic to find the furnace constantly running (something else was wrong). He fixed it within 10 minutes and everything was working good again. He serviced the house about 3 month before (in January) and he didn't charge me a dime this time. My last review in 2016 was excellent. I wanted to do a maintenance check after 3 years...no urgency but didn't quite go as planned. I called Suzie which seem to have been busy. After a second call I was able to get an appointment date set. The day of the appointment, no call, no show!! I called back a few times the following day, nothing. AC was acting up and decided to give them a call ASAP (wife and I try to do business locally) since the summer heat can be very unforgiving. Henery showed up when he said he would and asked what the problem was and if I had any questions. After diagnosing what the problem was, (previous work was done by a "friend of a friend") he went at it and fixed the issue within a reasonable amount of time and installation looked very professional. YELP has done it again. The AC unit went down and after replacing the control panel, because the display was blank, I went to YELP to find some help. Henery at 5-star AC and Heating picked up immediately and said he would be over after he finished a current call. When he arrived it took less than a minute to find the problem.... a clogged drain line (Yup, embarrassed). Henery cleared the drain line and provide maintenance tips to prevent this from happening in the future. He also checked the system for leaks and provided some guidance on that too. Just wanted to update my review. We've now had them out 4 or 5 times since we moved in and we won't go with anyone else. He replaced our very old (1992) furnace and is very reasonably priced. I had been shopping for almost a year to replace my A/C. I started by getting quotes from some of the big companies in Austin, and a few of the small ones. I hated most of their sales pitches. They either gave me an experience that was like buying a used car or they were like my dentist criticizing how I brush my teeth. Not Henery. He came out the next day and looked at my system. i told him I had gotten a great quote from another small company about 100 miles away and he said he'd see what he could do. I am glad to say 5 Star easily beat all the big companies with his detailed quotes and attention to my needs . While i did not pick Henery, I strongly recommend you get him to provide a quote, especially if you want a small, local company. Even after I let him know i chose someone else, Henery provided me great advice on what to ask for and look out for on the install - how to flush out the old and how to vacuum the old system. Henery Pugh was great. He serviced my HVAC unit and inspected the thermostat and found it to be defective. He was going to install a new Nest (at a very competitive price) and found that the original wiring did support the Nest. He installed temporary thermostat (worked well) and returned the following week with another tech. They were able to re-wire the system and install a new Nest. He was professional and did not require any payment until the job was complete and I was satisfied with the work and the operation of the Nest. I highly recommend Henery. read more

Can't say anything bad about this company/man. Called him about our AC issue earlier today and he was here in the afternoon as promised. I think his prices are very fair. He took he time and inspected the whole system. Even offered tip regarding our AC filters. He gave us a few options and even welcomed the idea of getting a second opinion from another local company. I actually liked Henery very much at 1st & believe he had good intentions but he burst a water line installing a hot water heater.There was water all in the attic & it had leaked through the ceiling,smoke detector & onto the ceramic tile.He didn't even tell us it had happened.I had to slip in a large puddle wearing flats & fall to find this out.He was angry that we called Serv Pro to handle the water damage to prevent mold but we wanted specialists in that field.I have a large area of carpet missing & medical bills mounting up for sciatica & a pinched nerve in my neck.He hesitantly agreed to pay the Serv Pro bill but has informed me that all other bills will be handled through his attorney.He does not feel liable.All of this coinciding with the death of my son.If this was the one & only time he ever messes up it was a huge one & I would advise anyone & everyone to use another HVAC tech.He had promised that he would take care of whatever problems arose from his mistake.I have text msgs to back up every word I am saying.You take a big risk using Henery Pugh because he does not hold himself accountable & accidents DO sometimes happen even to the best workers & companies but that is the chance you take opening a business for yourself.You screw up,you fix it...but not at 5 star apparently. read more
