We hired them to get our entire home painted. We had a strict timeline to get things done as we were traveling. I know he told me he would try, and was showing up daily at 8am. Randomly Saturday night at around 9:26pm, he messages me that his guys don't want to work Sunday. Do you tell that to a customer via text at 9:30pm? I found that very unprofessional. A very unusually uncomfortable exchange of text messages went back and forth about reasons why they were not going to show up Sunday as previously planned. We felt stuck because we needed to get this done before we fly out so my husband told me to just stay calm change our plans but have them finish. We were not a small job customer. We paid almost $12k for the job. Anyways, changed up our plans to let them finish. He had done our railings and door for stairs. This was done last minute since we had to fly out. He said it will dry out. We were going to come back after a month, so we thought fine, let's leave it. We came back after over a month, the paint was sticky. It got on my kids hands and our clothes. I don't know what he used, but they all started to come off when we wiped. This was on May 25th. Texted him abd he responded that he will come back and do it. He said he would come back in 2-3 weeks by June 15th. Waited patiently. Followed up July 8th and again this passed Sunday on July 25th. No response. This is what led to me writing the review. I really don't care for them to come back to finish my railings anymore. I had earlier decided not to waste my time writing a review about the owners previous unprofessionalism, but now that he is completely being shady and ignoring my messages, I think people need to know that this is not the experience you deserve as customers. Work with someone else, but not these guys if you want a peace of mind.

When we remodeled our '90s house, I hired half a dozen contractors, and most of my experiences were less than stellar, to say the least. This is my first home and first experience dealing with contractors, and there is a costly learning curve to sniffing out BS'rs, and the whole experience was pretty demoralizing. After having seven contractors come through and quote painting my entire interior, Keith was the only one who took the time to actually look at the house, see the potential, and talk me through the possibilities. He was thorough and a genuine pleasure to talk to. During the several weeks of our initial project, he called me every morning to touch base, make sure everything was on track, and let me know what to expect that day.I've hired Keith on three separate occasions to perform various projects from popcorn removal, patch and retexture surfaces, trimming out doors and painting. Keiths Forman, Benjamin, is very knowledgeable, respectful and detail oriented. He checks in with his team and relays your requests without a fuss. His crew did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. The real thing that set Keith's crew apart from the others isn't that there were no mistakes or issues but that when there was a problem, they were responsive and fixed the issue without a bunch of pushback. Keith gives you a roll of tape and tells you to spend a few days and tag anything you have an issue with, and his guys will keep coming back until it's right. When a simple miscommunication via text resulted in my entire house being painted the wrong sheen, they returned and repainted everything. I hate that they had to do that, but it was a testament to his commitment to getting it right, and from now on, if I need anything at all, I'll check in and see if it's within their scope before calling anyone else.

I hired Kyle Roberts for a project to add a bathroom and closet to my modest 1000sq ft east side…read morecottage. The project was estimated to take four months for a budget of $140k. Instead, the project took over a year and was $60k over budget. Some of this was due to unforeseen circumstances (like unexpected electrical rewiring to fix existing issues). Most of this, however, was due to Kyle being unresponsive to both myself as the homeowner and his contractors who told me time and time again that they were unable to reach Kyle for time-sensitive decisions and instructions. Additionally, when his team made mistakes (which they did frequently due to a lack of supervision or the wrong plans on set or a litany of other reasons), Kyle charged me for the time and materials required to redo the work. Not only was the project poorly managed and way over budget and timeline, the quality of the work was so poor that I am still dealing with broken plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues that continue to cost me thousands of dollars to repair. All the faucets leak. The doors don't close properly. The floor is so unlevel (despite being an addition) that furniture doesn't fit properly. The HVAC vent in my son's room was covered up so there's no airflow coming into the bedroom. After a plumbing emergency the weekend I moved back in during which raw sewage came up through my new shower because his team had left the test plug in (!!!), Kyle was nowhere to be found. He didn't respond to calls, emails, texts, or messages in WhatsApp and Signal, and I ended up being on the hook for the nearly $3k plumbing bill to repair his team's mistake. Once I finally heard back from him on Monday, he and I agreed to part ways and terminate the relationship. I clearly laid out for him the conditions of the termination in writing, and he accepted. I have not heard from him again and, true to my word, have contracted directly with professionals that are repairing his team's work at my expense. Now I am receiving Intent to Lien notices from the subcontractors that he neglected to pay for work he contracted with them directly. He and I did not have a contract, and there are no grounds under which I am responsible for these payments. Kyle created pull requests for work completed, and I paid them same day. Every single time. Apparently, KYLE HAS NOT PAID HIS SUBS and they are now coming after me. Fortunately, I have documentation dating back to the beginning of the project that demonstrates Kyle's negligence as a General Contractor, as well as the documentation from all of the professionals I've had to contract since we terminated the relationship that are willing to go on record to describe the egregious mistakes and lack of craftsmanship in everything from the framing to the plumbing to the finish out, so I'm hopeful that I will not continue to be held responsible for Kyle's lack of attention and oversight.
