I have been a long time customer of J's. When I moved away from the Oak Lawn location, I shopped around at different dry cleaners and tailors, but no one met the quality for the price of J's. J's is my go-to dry cleaner. They are detailed oriented and very communicative if they notice anything off as they clean my clothes. J's is also my go-to tailor. I trust the tailors there to guide me on what needs to be tailored and what doesn't. The service is quick and the employees are very friendly. J's is dog friendly and my dog always tries to redirect our walks towards J's as he loves being greeted by the employees there. read more

This is the best cleaners in Dallas! I am a new customer having left Tide Cleaners after 15 years. I am so glad I did! J's presses my shirts and pants much better. The collars are always pressed perfectly! The pants creased. I have also used their tailor and the results have been great. I have never had to take the clothes back to re-do! I use the Sherry Lane store where Albert and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I recommend that you try it out! Ron J. read more

Came here for the first time, and my experience here was really good. They were able to fix a thread that was loose within my sweater and everyone was super nice and friendly. Definitely coming back here again. read more

I have found my go to tailor! Everyone knows how difficult it is to find a good tailor- let alone a great one. They are able to work with almost every type of material, and their attention to detail is incomparable. I always recommend them to all my family and friends. Every time I go into the store I am greeted with such professionalism and kindness from everyone, and if I'm lucky a little tail wags from the sweetest pups! read more

I always use J's Tailor for my alterations needs but today they exceeded my expectations because I needed same day alterations and took it in this morning at 7:30 and they will have it ready for me by noon!!!! I just love them! read more

Took a $107 shirt to have the sleeves altered to wear with a suit. When I picked it up then tried it on at home I couldn't even lift a fork to my mouth without the end of the sleeves going up to half of my forearm. Total waste of money and time. Never again will I walk into this establishment. Jake 214-850-5032 read more

J's Tailors and Cleaners is our go-to place for both tailoring and dry cleaning. For the occasional nip and tuck needed in pants, shirts, and women's wear, the J's tailoring staff are just superb, and efficient in getting the garment back. For our household's cleaning needs, which include dry cleaning, treating woolens for storage until the next fall and winter seasons, and pressing cotton pants and shirts that we have washed ourselves at home, J's careful work cannot be beaten. And their prices are reasonable. Oh yes: they have a super friendly and gracious dog who welcomes customers. The human staff members are the same! Highly recommended. read more

I've been coming to J's Tailor & Cleaners for a few years now, and the service has always been prompt and courteous. They are a specialty cleaner so they are priced within the realm of the likes of Bibbentuckers and Dee & Hattie. Jay and his staff also do excellent work on alterations. When hemming pants, they actually take the time to measure both pant legs without needing to be reminded. Pricing information is available online from their website. read more

J's Tailor & Cleaners - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Dallas, Texas

My family and I took multiple pairs of jeans for custom tailoring. Everybody was extremely helpful and nice! The turn around was fast.

There's a guy who works here named Albert, he's awesome. Always smiling and very polite... we'll be cracking jokes and having a blast and I'm like WHAT I thought I came here just to get my clothes but I end up leaving laughing and the next day I look clean AF in my perfectly washed clothes. read more

If you want something added or not on your piece of garment for alteration, they make it happen! This store is their first mom and pop store and have history where they built their name in the community! Thank you for being an essential business during this difficult time. read more

I was tired of dry cleaners always ruining my shirts. Buttons getting broken. Shirts going missing. And in general very high end shirts would not last long. I checked out J's and have never looked back!!! The quality is just unparalleled. The service is phenomenal from every single employee. Even alterations and some pretty complicated changes to wedding outfits were a breeze for them. They have never said no to a request! It really is unbelievable. If you care about taking care of your clothing and having someone care for it like it's their own, J's is the place! I live in the plano / Frisco area but still bring my clothes to them in Dallas. They are THAT good! read more

Terrible service. Terrible business. Terrible Management. Took a nice button up here and was told that my shirt was damaged. The person who called me then asked if I wanted this patched. I thought it would be free of charge since THEY ruined my button up. Nope. They said they would charge me $20 to patch my shirt. I declined. When I arrived to pick everything up, the manager or owner tried to tell me that my button up was too small for their machine. She compared my button up to a "Ladies shirt". My shirt size is as generically sized for any male in their 30's. I took this particular button up 7 times to this business over a 4 year period. Never had an issue. When THEY mess up, they tried to charge me money to fix it AND blame the size of my button up. Wouldn't bother going here if you want excuses when they F*&K up your clothes and not even compensate you. I give this place a BIG FAT 0/10. read more

I've been going to this location for almost 10 years. 10 years! They are absolutely the best cleaners and tailors. This is the only place I trust for alterations, especially higher end clothing. They have great customer service. read more

I have been coming to J's for almost 2 years now for both dry cleaning and tailoring and everything is always fantastic and exceeds my expectations. They are careful and organized with their dry cleaning. You will rarely have chipped buttons or any other problems like a lot of the other places around town. They have a quick turn around and always put everything on the correct hanger. Sue is always at the front desk saying hello to everyone by name with a smile as they walk in the door. Sue and all the tailors are masters of their craft and know exactly what they are doing. They will tell you if what you want can be done and will be honest about managing your expectations. You can really trust that they will take the utmost care of your clothes. This is a local favorite for a good reason: good quality service and friendly staff. read more

I picked up my floor-length crocheted black dress from J's and have been wearing it around my house for the past couple of hours...I could not be happier with the alteration and now I just can't seem to take it off! It's soo hot!! I've been using J's for alterations for around 4 years, and I have literally never had a complaint. Not even one alteration-gone-wrong. Pretty impressive, right? They do fabulous work, and will accommodate you if you need something altered pronto. I've taken in blazers that were meant to fit someone twice my size and that basically needed to be recreated-- they look amazing now, like they were made for me! Just as an FYI, sometimes you have to be persistent when it comes to asking for something specific to be done. For example, I recently took a pencil skirt in that needed to be altered to where it fit higher on the waist. When I put it on, Jay tugged it down and told me it fit, that it didn't need to be altered. I explained that I wanted it higher up, but he said it couldn't be done. Sometimes you have to ask them if there is anything they can do to make it fit the way you want it to fit. They are the experts, so tell them the problem ("it needs to be tighter/it needs to fit higher up") and ask them how to fix it, don't say, "it needs to be taken in right here." I think they just like to come up with the solution based on their expertise :) And they obviously know best bc Ive loved everything they've done! Overall, J's is my go-to for alterations. As a warning, they are pricey. I can't take my dry cleaning there anymore bc I have too much of it and it got too expensive. But for alterations, it is definitely worth the price, bc they do excellent work. If price is a concern of yours, ask them how much it will cost when you drop it off. That way, they won't charge extra bc it turned out to be a difficult alteration, and you won't be surprised when you pick up. read more

This is the most wonderful dry cleaners that takes customer service to the next level. Wonderful people- great service read more

This is the worst place in Dallas. The ladies who work here are extremely rude and disrespectful. They act like everything if your fault and your problem and take no responsibility or willingness to fix their mistakes. Additionally, they have ruined very many nice pieces of mine including my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding and a very expensive pair of pants that I can no longer wear. They refuse to do very simple changes such as letting out a seam or hem. They will tell you they cannot fix something and then you'll take it somewhere else and they say they can fix it no problem. Not to mention the RIDICULOUS prices. I would discourage anyone from going to J Tailor. There are certainly much better tailors/cleaners in Dallas read more

I have never been so offended and disregarded by a place of business. The manager refused to even discuss alterations of a bridesmaid dress with me saying there was nothing to be done. The next tailor. Said no problem. Rude. Disrespectful. Will never return or suggest. Complete lack of customer service. read more

The clerk had to get "permission" before I could try on my alterations "before paying". The service is over-priced and the staff is under-trained and rude. Never again read more

J's cleaners does an amazing job on even the most delicate fancy clothes. As well they do beautiful work with alterations and are very honest with their pricing and time assessments for alterations. I have been a long-time customer and will continue to do business with them read more

I was missing a button on the sleeve of my Dior jacket today and I ran in this afternoon because I was frantic. Sue immediately came out and found a spare in the stash of black buttons they had on hand. Sue is very practical, hands-on, no nonsense, gets the job done and fast, and delivered to my home within a week. No additional charge for delivery. But what I like best is their great hours for working people - they open at 7am and close at 7pm, so I can run in before going to work or after work, if I have a clothing emergency. Saturdays are very accommodating hours too: 7am to 6pm. Love the alterations service. read more

Awful. Seriously AWFUL. I thought that this would be a good place to drop my stuff, since it is right around the corner from my office building. I took two cotton short work dresses that needed simple hems, and one evening dress. Later that day, after I dropped them off, the alterations lady called to tell me that the evening dress was going to be too expensive because they had to take out boning on the dress. She said, at least $100. So I told her no, since I had told her while she was pinning me that Tootsie's said $80, so I would just take it back to Tootsie's since that is what they quoted me when I bought the dress. I went today to pick up the two other simple dresses and she charged me $211 for two cotton dresses! I asked her why she didn't just quote me those also, because if I said no to the evening dress being $100, I probably would have said no to the regular dress being $100. She said, "YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED!" I was shocked. I asked to speak to the manager, and she said she was the manager. (which I doubt, but if she is, wow.). Honestly- I have been going to Vu's Tailors my whole life, he is such a great guy and does impeccable, IMPECCABLE work. I shouldn't have tried to go anywhere else. I also told the lady at J's I would take it up with American Express since she wouldn't agree to meeting me anywhere in the middle (i.e. take off $50 from the total bill), and she walked away and said take it up with them then. Really the worst service ever. To top it all off, she took out all of the pins in the evening dress- ones that Tootsie's had put in prior to me even coming to them, and in the process tore a string in my evening dress. read more

Please find somewhere else to get your clothing tailored. They wanted to charge me $55 for a cheap shirt!! Not worth it here.

Not a place for very delicate items. I brought my wedding dress here because I needed the straps shortened and the bottom hemmed. It was a recommendation from Bella Bridesmaid where I purchased it. When I went back to try it on, the hem was fine, but I noticed the straps were puffing up in one spot. They are cap sleeves so it was obvious. I wish I could add a picture. It was overlapped and stitched on top of the shoulder. I pointed it out, and the tailor just pushed it down with her hand and said, "It's ok, that is how I had to do it." Then she stood in silence. I paid for it and left because I didn't trust them to fix the mistake. I ended up taking it to a place that deals only with wedding dresses. read more

This place looks very nice, but the customer service is terrible. I got one dress altered and it cose $75 for a pretty simple alteration. Yet they didn't tell me this until I picked up the dress, and when I was surprised by the price, the lady rudely responded "You never asked." They did a decent job, but they need to be nicer to their customers. Although the price is outrageous, I would have been okay with it if they handled it nicely instead of being so snotty. read more

I was a big fan of J's. The dry cleaning is very expensive, but the quality has always been good. J's also does our alterations. For the second year in a row, they did not alter the hems of our school uniform skirts correctly. Instead of apologizing, they took no responsibility, even though I am a very good customer, and told me I would be charged to correct the error. The customer service could be better. read more

I was really happy with the service I received! I've read that they were fairly expensive, but I found the alterations pricing to be consistent with other places. I took a bridesmaids dress to be altered and so far, the work seems to be great. I'll definitely use them again. read more

I was referred to J's by my boss who lives in the area. I live in the burbs and had a vintage fur and wool coat that I couldn't trust with a regular chain dry cleaners. I came out to J's and they were SO nice and accommodating. I was very weary to give anyone my great grandmothers coat because it is my only memory of her. The gentlemen at J's was so kind and even cleaned the coat for me in one day because I live so far away. My coat looks gorgeous!!! I would recommend this dry cleaners to anyone, especially people with special fabrics, linens ect. read more
