Do not use this dishonest place. I've been going here regularly for years and was just treated so terribly that I will never go back! The owner repeatedly lied and told me I didn't have clothes here even though I knew I dropped them off last week. He kept trying to convince me that I had picked them up almost a month ago. I even left thinking I was crazy and then went back. Finally pushed back enough that he said fine, come look and prove yourself wrong and I found six bunches of clothes under somebody else's name in their rack. Then he tried to blame his employee who wasn't even there the day he took my clothes and didn't create a ticket. He still refused to admit his mistake. I called it to his attention and said you should try to help customers instead of just denying the issue and he told me to get out with some choice profane words. We have spent thousands of dollars there over the years and he would still rather mistreat and lose a long time customer than admit he made a mistake. I've had other instances where I was given the wrong clothes and clothes of ours have gone missing or been returned damaged and I overlooked them in the past, but this was the last straw. What a horrible way to run your business! read more

The owner is more concerned about money than keeping long-term customers. A few weeks ago, the staff lost most of the dress shirts i wear regularly. They could not find them for several days. Later it was discovered the staff had given them to the wrong customer, who eventually brought them back. I made multiple visits to the store and wasted a whole lot of time on this error. The owner's wife told me she was so embarrassed by what happened she would not charge me for that order. So I took my finally found clothes and left. Then today, when I went to pick up first order of laundry since that incident, the owner told me I had a balance due from the previous owner. I reminded him of hte circumstances and what his wife had said. He insisted I had to pay the full balance due because, in words, "We eventually found your clothes." I asked if he would at least discount that messed up order from before and he said no. I asked if he was willing to lose a long-term regular customer just to balance his books even though his wife had made a pledge to me, and he still said I had to pay the full amount. I started going to Sterling Cleaners a few years ago after my last cleaners closed. Frank is always so cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Today (Jan 18, 2025), when I stopped by to pick up a few things, he asked me if I was missing any clothes. I said no - but then he said, well take a look, because we have had some clothes that were cleaned under the wrong customer name back in Sept 2024 when I (Frank) was out of the country. He recognized the clothes from having cleaned them before and somehow was able to associate them with me. They were, in fact, mine - I had just forgotten about them! I couldn't believe it. I was traveling from California and my maid of honor dress needed to be steamed after flying with it. I called several places and everywhere I called was extremely pricey and had slow turn around times. Frank, the owner, was so helpful and was able to steam my dress in under 24 hours for a fraction of the price of the other places. I brought in a white dress with dark stains which had been there for years covering the entire front. Had been going here for around a month and started to have issues with the way I was receiving my clothes. As I went to inform the owner, he would no accept responsibility for the poor quality my clothes were given to me and put the blame somewhere else. His attempt to find a solution was less than what I would say is the standard as well. When I leave my clothes to be cleaned, I expect to pick them up in better condition than when I left them. I can not say that about this place and the customer service with trying to fix my issue was below par. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I wish I could give this place more than five stars! I went to Sterling Cleaners needing a rush tailoring. I had a dress that needed to be hemmed about an inch and a half then pressed. Frank's normal tailor wasn't able to do this in time so he called another tailor he new and drove my dress out to him personally to get this done. The customer service was incredible, going above and beyond for me like that was something that will make me a customer for life. Having asked and paid for heavy starch on my shirts on numerous ocasiones, I finally confronted him about them coming out differently every time(most without starch) and he responded that for the amount of business I was bringing him, I could take my business elsewhere. Everyone raves about Sterling cleaners and that they are so friendly and helpful. I also thought that as well until they lost one of my sweaters. It was a very expensive sweater, and I cannot afford a lot of expensive sweaters and it was also a unique one. It was also one of my favorites but trusted them to clean it and to give it back to me. Not a huge ask. However, when I called to inquire about the missing sweater, Frank argued with me and said he had no record of me even being there since April 2021. I found that to be funny since I dropped those clothes off in December 2022 and picked them up in February. However, he continued to say no. So I had to go print out the purchase from my bank and I actually ended up finding the receipt as well. When I brought these items in, Frank and the other girl that works there, got on the computer to check, and somehow all of a sudden, they had a record of me being there in December of 2022. Then they tell me that they don't have a record of a shirt being in my order. Sterling's has been the only cleaner I've been using so I know with 100% certainty that it went to them. So I guess when a customer has an issue, magically, they say you haven't been there in years. They were so rude, had zero empathy and offered me zero help. They didn't even try to look for it. I was shocked that such a "nice" man would be so argumentative and rude to a customer. It was extremely disappointing. Also, I am NOT a complainer and I have only written one other yelp review in my life. It has to be really bad for me to take time to write a review. Where do I begin.....I have been holding this review back for some time and now I feel that it is time to let it be known. I have lived in the area for almost 20 years and previously drove down towards northwest hwy and Plano to get my clothes cleaned until my significant other found Frank and Sterling Cleaners. The first years of using him was exceptional but in the last 2-3 years it has declined. I have had experiences with taking home other customers clothing items that were bundled with mine and I also have had shirts that came back with stains again. I brought back the shirt and pointed out where it was and requested that they try to clean it. It came back again with the same stain with no improvement and I had to return back with the shirt. Frank got offended when I suggested that the shirt wasn't even cleaned again due to the stain remaining. We agreed to have him send it off to get it cleaned and the 3rd time was a charm. I told myself that I would be looking for another cleaner as soon as I got this shirt cleaned but I foolishly returned again with a 3 piece suit and other shirts to get cleaned. This was when things got ugly and I swore on my dead family members graves that I will never return. My 3 piece suit that I needed for work came back with the vest missing. I was so livid and called up Frank to let him know that the mistakes from his store have taken a toll on me and that I will never step foot in there again and I would let others know about the terrible experiences I recently had. *edit* this place has won me back as a customer. read more
