Do not use this dishonest place. I've been going here regularly for years and was just treated so terribly that I will never go back! The owner repeatedly lied and told me I didn't have clothes here even though I knew I dropped them off last week. He kept trying to convince me that I had picked them up almost a month ago. I even left thinking I was crazy and then went back. Finally pushed back enough that he said fine, come look and prove yourself wrong and I found six bunches of clothes under somebody else's name in their rack. Then he tried to blame his employee who wasn't even there the day he took my clothes and didn't create a ticket. He still refused to admit his mistake. I called it to his attention and said you should try to help customers instead of just denying the issue and he told me to get out with some choice profane words. We have spent thousands of dollars there over the years and he would still rather mistreat and lose a long time customer than admit he made a mistake. I've had other instances where I was given the wrong clothes and clothes of ours have gone missing or been returned damaged and I overlooked them in the past, but this was the last straw. The owner is more concerned about money than keeping long-term customers. A few weeks ago, the staff lost most of the dress shirts i wear regularly. They could not find them for several days. Later it was discovered the staff had given them to the wrong customer, who eventually brought them back. I made multiple visits to the store and wasted a whole lot of time on this error. The owner's wife told me she was so embarrassed by what happened she would not charge me for that order. So I took my finally found clothes and left. Then today, when I went to pick up first order of laundry since that incident, the owner told me I had a balance due from the previous owner. I reminded him of hte circumstances and what his wife had said. He insisted I had to pay the full balance due because, in words, "We eventually found your clothes." I asked if he would at least discount that messed up order from before and he said no. I asked if he was willing to lose a long-term regular customer just to balance his books even though his wife had made a pledge to me, and he still said I had to pay the full amount. I started going to Sterling Cleaners a few years ago after my last cleaners closed. Frank is always so cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Today (Jan 18, 2025), when I stopped by to pick up a few things, he asked me if I was missing any clothes. I said no - but then he said, well take a look, because we have had some clothes that were cleaned under the wrong customer name back in Sept 2024 when I (Frank) was out of the country. He recognized the clothes from having cleaned them before and somehow was able to associate them with me. They were, in fact, mine - I had just forgotten about them! I couldn't believe it. Everyone raves about Sterling cleaners and that they are so friendly and helpful. I also thought that as well until they lost one of my sweaters. It was a very expensive sweater, and I cannot afford a lot of expensive sweaters and it was also a unique one. It was also one of my favorites but trusted them to clean it and to give it back to me. Not a huge ask. However, when I called to inquire about the missing sweater, Frank argued with me and said he had no record of me even being there since April 2021. I found that to be funny since I dropped those clothes off in December 2022 and picked them up in February. However, he continued to say no. So I had to go print out the purchase from my bank and I actually ended up finding the receipt as well. When I brought these items in, Frank and the other girl that works there, got on the computer to check, and somehow all of a sudden, they had a record of me being there in December of 2022. Then they tell me that they don't have a record of a shirt being in my order. Sterling's has been the only cleaner I've been using so I know with 100% certainty that it went to them. So I guess when a customer has an issue, magically, they say you haven't been there in years. They were so rude, had zero empathy and offered me zero help. They didn't even try to look for it. I was shocked that such a "nice" man would be so argumentative and rude to a customer. It was extremely disappointing. Also, I am NOT a complainer and I have only written one other yelp review in my life. It has to be really bad for me to take time to write a review. I was traveling from California and my maid of honor dress needed to be steamed after flying with it. I called several places and everywhere I called was extremely pricey and had slow turn around times. Frank, the owner, was so helpful and was able to steam my dress in under 24 hours for a fraction of the price of the other places. Had been going here for around a month and started to have issues with the way I was receiving my clothes. As I went to inform the owner, he would no accept responsibility for the poor quality my clothes were given to me and put the blame somewhere else. His attempt to find a solution was less than what I would say is the standard as well. When I leave my clothes to be cleaned, I expect to pick them up in better condition than when I left them. I wish I could give this place more than five stars! I went to Sterling Cleaners needing a rush tailoring. I had a dress that needed to be hemmed about an inch and a half then pressed. Frank's normal tailor wasn't able to do this in time so he called another tailor he new and drove my dress out to him personally to get this done. The customer service was incredible, going above and beyond for me like that was something that will make me a customer for life. Where do I begin.....I have been holding this review back for some time and now I feel that it is time to let it be known. I have lived in the area for almost 20 years and previously drove down towards northwest hwy and Plano to get my clothes cleaned until my significant other found Frank and Sterling Cleaners. The first years of using him was exceptional but in the last 2-3 years it has declined. I have had experiences with taking home other customers clothing items that were bundled with mine and I also have had shirts that came back with stains again. I brought back the shirt and pointed out where it was and requested that they try to clean it. It came back again with the same stain with no improvement and I had to return back with the shirt. Frank got offended when I suggested that the shirt wasn't even cleaned again due to the stain remaining. We agreed to have him send it off to get it cleaned and the 3rd time was a charm. I told myself that I would be looking for another cleaner as soon as I got this shirt cleaned but I foolishly returned again with a 3 piece suit and other shirts to get cleaned. This was when things got ugly and I swore on my dead family members graves that I will never return. My 3 piece suit that I needed for work came back with the vest missing. I was so livid and called up Frank to let him know that the mistakes from his store have taken a toll on me and that I will never step foot in there again and I would let others know about the terrible experiences I recently had. *edit* this place has won me back as a customer. read more

I took a comforter to be cleaned here because I needed a professional to clean a high end Vera Wang comforter. I took it and said what I wanted, I came back a week later and picked up, while keeping it in the bag, thinking it was cleaned. I opened the bag a couple weeks later to see it hadn't even been cleaned. I took it back and told the main employee and he claimed that had never happened before, but agreed to reclean it. Picked it up a week later thinking all was well, although he added that there was a tear on it. How I'm not sure because I'm pretty careful, but figured it was an accident on my part. I took the comforter home for the holidays in bag to get the tear fixed by a family member. I only then found out that the comforter had in fact been ruined by a bad wash cycle. Not only did it look bad, but all of the lined cotton inside had been shuffled throughout with no consistency anymore. It no longer flat or even. A $400 comforter had been ruined with my only hope that over time the lining can be straightened out, but not likely. My best case scenario is finding another online to replace the destroyed one. When we confronted the employee (Frank?) by phone, he denied he did anything wrong and claimed it had never happened. This is what I get for going to a "professional" cleaner in Dallas. He may be a nice man and does a lot of good work (obviously not in house), but my one and only experience turned into ruined bedding. Sad to say I will probably never go here again, shame considering how great the ratings have been and how nice Frank was. read more

Other Yelpers have not exaggerated Frank's niceness. The nicest you could imagine this guy possibly being? He's one step nicer than that. Frank makes a point of memorizing your name and face on your first visit. I don't know how he does it. But he's getting your clothes before you even hand him the ticket. His rates? $7.75 for a mens suit, $4.25 for a mens jacket, $2.59 for slacks/ties/silk shirts. My clothes were ready for pickup next day at no additional charge, and you pay on pickup (not on drop off). Oh, and he offered to carry my dry cleaning to the car for me. He really makes you feel like family. I dropped off a cashmere sweater, and mentioned to him that the sweater had a hole. He offered to repair the hole at an additional cost -- I said just to clean it for now. When I got the sweater back, the hole had been repaired, but he didn't charge me for the repair. BUT. The cleaning was not up to snuff. Small food stains on the sweater and a mens suit jacket were not removed. The suit pants were poorly pressed. The ties came back with worse creases than they'd been sent in with. I sent the ties back to be re-pressed, and they came back even worse. Unfortunately, Frank sends his clothes out to be cleaned, and those guys seem to be the weak link in the chain. read more

Frank, the owner of this business, is a seriously hard working guy. He's ALWAYS there. He remembers my name when I pick up my clothes, too. And when I've had problems, he's gone out of his way to make things right. He does a nice job with men's dress shirts, and will even do small repairs and alterations for much less than most tailors. However, the quality of dry cleaning isn't the highest. It's okay, but sometimes light colored items still look a little dingy. But honestly, he charges less than $2 per item. I can't really complain. Even though I like the guy who runs this place, and he's SUPER affordable, I can't go with more than 3 stars because he lost my husband's Hart Shaffner Marx suit jacket. To his credit, he gave us a lot of free dry cleaning to make up for it, but that was a really nice suit, and my husband was pretty irritated not to have it anymore. Another time, I got home with someone else's dress and missing a pair of pants, but fortunately, we switched that out the next day without any problems. Despite the couple of glitches I encountered, I recommend this dry cleaner. I think he's an honest hard-working guy providing a decent service at a fair price. PS- The yelp map is a little off.
