They told me there was an appointment at 10am already scheduled. I come here at 10:45am, it's closed. And now it is 11am. No one there. Kind of not cool. Was looking forward to donating my hair. I didn't receive an email or phone cancelation either. I confirmed my appointment in the email as well. My advice, if you can't show up, call me or email me. Also, it's especially not cool when it's a hair donation for a kid. I understand life happens, but I drove 1 hr for this. The least you can do is inform me of a cancelation. Also, just to add, I was also getting charged for the cut too. So the stylist was suppose to get paid/tipped.

That's exactly how I feel every time I visit Christina. She is talented, professional, and all around awesome. I could not recommend her enough. I made a hair appointment for a bleach and tone because I wanted to lighten things up…read more Firstly, I was met with an energy of like it was a bother for me to be there. Second, she told me she couldn't do a bleach or tone, even though she showed me a panel of different blonde hair samples that she said they were all out of..so I'm still unsure what the point was of showing me the samples. So basically I was promised a service that was not even possible. She told me she should have let me know we should have done a consultation, and that she was sorry it was something she forgot. However it was clearly stated to me on the phone they could do my hair no problem. Then I requested a shampoo and blowout since I was already there and was told "no". At that point I felt like my time was disrespected and that the low level of experience and professionalism was careless. When I told her I was going to leave she then offered to shampoo my hair which I at that point was no longer interested in either. I suggested moving forward they be transparent that they can't do blonde hair...as it takes a bleach and tone. That's simply the standard. I am not one to leave negative reviews but in this case it feels necessary.

My previous stylist retired, and I stumbled across Matthew Steele while searching for someone new…read more It wasn't close by, but I get my hair cut only 4 times a year, so I didn't mind going a bit out of the way. Plus, Tangletown is a cute area and this gave me an excuse to venture into a different area of Seattle. I didn't know anyone else who'd come here, or anything about the stylists - so I just took a leap and scheduled with Paul. I am so happy I did! Paul and I visited a bit so that he could get a feel for what I wanted and what I was comfortable with. He's an experienced stylist, and he had great ideas about what kind of cut would work best for my hair type (fine hair but lots of it, and a bit of wave here and there) as well as my lifestyle (low maintenance). Paul began with a light massage using some delicious smelling essential oils, with another scalp massage while washing my hair. While the conditioning mask sat on my hair, he gave me a hand massage. It was so relaxing, I nearly dozed off. Filling my cut, he dried and styled my hair so that I looked finished coming out of the salon. And my cut was fantastic. As a bonus, Paul is lovely. The salon itself is cozy and inviting. They have some boutique items, like sweaters and jackets, that they sell as well as an array of Aveda products. The whole place smells amazing. And the staff are also very sweet and helpful. A lot of salons are closed on Sundays and Mondays, but this salon is open (another reason I wound up coming here, as those are my "days off"). Convenient hours too. Highly recommend Paul and Matthew Steele Salon.

It was approved until the week before where it was cancelled by the salon. They had scheduling issues, totally get it. Instead of saying it was THEIR scheduling issue and giving me options to book another appointment, they recommended a different salon in Bothell. I live in auburn, so Seattle was already a drive but I wanted the good quality for my curls. I believe the email said I could reach out if I wanted to "but it would be a long wait" which to me hints don't bother so I didn't. No hate to the salon, this was just my experience. And since I was so excited to work with people who understand curls and I was ready to get to dying my hair, the last minute cancellation and then no offer to rebook even though it wasn't my fault were my reasons for the stars. Well one star is cause everyone else gave 5 and I don't wanna bring down the rating. The 1 star is all I'd give.
