We moved July 14-15, with an added day of the 16th because they didn't have enough room im their truck on Day 2. From the start the young men, who were very polite, told us they were undermanned. They also told us after day 1 the estimator (who visited our house beforehand) was way off on how much they had to move (this after we left a washer and dryer originally set to be moved). Two of the group also told us they were 'new' on the job. On Day 1 we noticed they were packing rooms as individuals instead of working in teams. On Day 2 the same occurred--one guy would start a room and another would finish. In almost every room something was overlooked and we had to find someone to go back and finish. Day 2 finished at 11 pm in Chesapeake with a hurried unloading and little time to put boxes in the correct rooms. Why? Because only two of the guys (Gavin and 'Washington Commander') bothered to put detailed descriptions on boxes--just a number. Two days after the move our Realtor in Nags Head called to say an entire kitchen cabinet of pots and pans were left behind. The manager called us to express her concerns and showed up at the destination house later. We told her the guys worked hard and 'stuff' happened. When we found out about the pots and and pans, I left On Friday, after we found about the pots and pans, I called their office and left a message to speak to the owner, Briar Baughman to call us back just to talk. We left a polite message saying we wanted to express some concerns. I called again the following Tuesday and was forwarded by the office to Briar's cell phone. No response. My wife called Wednesday and was told she would get a call back. Didn't happen. Same Friday, except instead of a call we received an email telling us they took no responsibility and by the way, 'your window for claims is closed'--something we had not even mentioned. A summary of issues: A two day job turned into 4 days and still things were left behind. The owner nor anyone else refused to call us. On Day 2 the last boxes unloaded were soaked and Gavin said the truck had leaked somewhere. Old books, a family Bible, and other items were soaked and ruined. Cords were not packed with items--we still can't find cords for appliances, printers, stereo equipment. Boxes were not labeled. Or totally mislabeled. Towels were books. Books were electronics. The glass on our laser printer was smashed. Small pieces of items were removed and we can't find them. Items from the same room ended up in boxes mixed with other rooms. Small fragile items were carefully wrapped, then placed at the bottom of a box and crushed or broken. The list goes on. Hell, they even left their company iPad here and haven't come to pick it up even after we called the driver the same night. I rarely rate any company this poorly. Check my reviews. But I have zero desire to talk to the owner now for any reason. Time to move on.

They took care in packing every item so everything arrived safely at the new location. My parents asked ahead if they would do a few odd moving-related tasks and they agreed to everything. This relieved so much anxiety as this was a bittersweet move out of their home of forty years. The moving crew was hard working and efficient despite the extreme heat. I additionally appreciated their kind demeanor and positive attitude about every aspect of the moving process. On the unload end, they were meticulous at placing items. They kindly adjusted the placement of a few things without hesitation despite the requests being 'above and beyond' their duties. Just a couple of specific examples.... We had a washer that unknowingly needed a pipe adjustment before it could go into place. One of the men took time to explain what needed to be done to fix the situation to my parents. He then took time to give them helpful tips on the remedy and answer all of their questions. Instead of being worried, my parents had a plan and knew it was an easily fixable issue. My dad had an ultra heavy desk with hutch. Movers asked where to place it and did so. Later, they were asked to move it and the dresser next to it...again. They did so and never complained. These requests were above and beyond and they complied without hesitation. Above and beyond! Before leaving they checked to see that everything was done to our satisfaction. It was clear the item was a couch that was specifically a sectional and had recliners. I was quoted a price between 109-129 and the following day "Friday" I booked an appointment for Saturday, time frame 8am-10am . I got an email confirming and text messages which was great. Saturday the day of the appt, no one showed. I waited til 1015am to call and inquire about my appt. This time Hill Will himself talked to me and said something about his tire and that there was another person ahead of me so he will call me when he's on his way. This was a huge inconvenience for me, because I had a full day schedule of things I needed to do. That's why I wanted an early time frame. At the same time the couch needed to be removed because our new couch was coming the next day. So unfortunately I had to wait. 11:00am Hill will calls and asks what my address is. I already gave them all that Info so now I'm annoyed. I tell them the info and wait some more. Around 11;20am Hill will and the crew show up. He apologized about being late, ok fine. I lead him to the couch that I want removed and he tells me this job will be more because of recliners. Now the price has went from between $109-$129 to now $259. I explained that I made it very clear with the receptionist what the couch had so this shouldn't be a surprise. I also explained that the receptionist told me cash payment is preferred because they charge 5% to run a card as payment. So I already went to the ATM and pulled out the original price quoted. At this point I'm very annoyed. Not only am I extremely behind on everything I needed to do that day as well as missed another appt due to this man being an hour late, but now I'm stuck with this couch I need removed by tomorrow to get my new couch because I'm not paying $259 for this fiasco. That amount of money was not my quote. As I was telling them my concerns, while frantically trying to get ready to leave, Hill Will settled on a payment of $159 in order to remove the couch, citing he was late and the receptionist quoted the wrong price. Thank God I had extra cash lying around in my purse in order to make up for the $30 difference. Was the job done...yes. will I call again if I need something removed...no.

They were attentive to numerous clients with short deadlines; I had no compelling deadline and my large order did take a while.
