Star Movers was honestly the best moving experience I've ever had. The movers were friendly, communicative, incredibly thorough, and genuinely conscientious throughout the entire process. What really stood out to me was how thoughtful and proactive they were in ways I never would have anticipated. For example, they intentionally left the mop and broom accessible without us even asking -- and we ended up needing them immediately afterward. They also packed an important document file near the front of the storage unit because they anticipated we might need access to it later, which turned out to be incredibly helpful. These are the kinds of details that show real care and experience. The only minor issue was that the third mover arrived late (9:49 AM), and when asked about it, he stated an earlier arrival time than when he actually showed up. However, management handled it professionally and gave me a discount for the delay, which I appreciated. Overall, that small issue was vastly outweighed by how excellent the service was. I booked this move nearly two months in advance and was told the schedule was "wide open," securing an early morning slot for my 89-year-old mother's move to a senior living facility. Unfortunately, the day before, I was informed via text that the start time would be pushed to the afternoon, and the crew ultimately didn't arrive until 2:45 p.m. The movers themselves were very good, professional, hardworking, and respectful, but they were put in a difficult position by the late start and long day. Because of the delay, the move couldn't be completed that evening and had to be finished the next day. What should have been a straightforward, small move became a stressful, two-day, costly process. The biggest issue was poor communication and unrealistic scheduling, compounded by impersonal, automated responses when I raised concerns. I appreciate the effort of the moving crews, but the overall experience fell short due to management and coordination issues. read more

Very disappointed with my moving experience. Multiple furniture items were damaged, including my dresser, couch, and bed frame. Movers also left holes in my wall, damaged my upstairs railing and steps, failed to properly wrap furniture, and didn't fully reassemble one of the beds. The movers also used excessive time during the move, which significantly increased the cost and resulted in me being charged nearly twice the agreed amount. After all of this, the company denied liability for the damages. Extremely frustrating experience with no accountability. read more

STAR MOVERs is really excelled and coordinating with me to transport my dad's table saw he passed away so I had to transfer in the military and I wasn't able to move it so I had to leave it behind. But it wasn't safe hands with Star movers out in Williamsburg, Virginia, and then made a one phone call set up a time and they delivered it straight to me all the way in Michigan. We contacted them to move a baby grand piano from a nearby neighborhood to our house. We had an appointment for 830 on a Sunday morning. My husband went to meet them at the other home and waited an hour and a half and no one showed. After repeated calls, we finally got a response that they didn't have enough people to move the piano. My husband rescheduled the appointment for five days later. About one hour before the scheduled move, he got a phone call saying that they were not going to be able to move it because they had scheduled a bigger job instead. This is very disappointing and was a waste of my husband's time. Fortunately, they did refund our deposit. We canceled the move and found another company to move the piano for us. We felt that this company was very unprofessional and not reliable. read more

I hired STAR Movers for a local move and they were amazing! From the beginning, Joy was patient, kind and understanding and very willing to make sure I was satisfied. I was deciding between STAR Movers and another company, but Joy's lively personality and follow through were the reasons I chose them. I was called 48 hrs before the move to ensure I didn't have any concerns and Chrisha answered all my questions and kept in great contact with me. On the day of the move, Harrison called me to let me know he would arrive right on schedule and he was very attentive and displayed professionalism and concern. The other 3 movers were wonderful too and worked well together. Russell was always smiling, Larry was extremely respectful and Patrick was a hard worker. It was so nice to see these 4 men working in harmony and showing how much they love the work they do. I felt valued as a customer and had no qualms about being taken advantage of or being hustled. Very professional team. My quote was accurate and customer service was great. The movers came on time and were very nice and professional. My only complaint is that it was taking them kind of a long time to get the work done at first. I was concerned that three people were going to go too long considering I didn't have that much stuff and they were getting paid by the hour. When they were asked to speed up, they did but they ended up leaving a lot of us to do on our own so we could stay within 3 hours. read more

I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH!!!! My husband has a VERY high standard and even said "can we give them MORE than 5 stars?" We had a last minute move for my 89 year old veteran Father-In-Law. I called a few places recommended by friends but no one could accommodate a move that HAD to happen in the next 2 days. In desperation, I got on Yelp and stumbled across STAR movers. Veteran owned company so BONUS!! I called and told Valerie our situation and she didn't hesitate - she said "we will make it happen" and they sure did!!! The customer service aspect was fantastic as well. I had Matt and Ramalo help move my items from Norfolk to Va Beach on 3/8 and they were EXCELLENT. They were on time, were very respectful, and took very good care to wrap everything up to preclude any damage. They were very quick and I will certainly reach out to STAR Movers for my next move. Previously I gave Star Movers a very poor review (1 Star). That review was based SOLELY on being way overcharged for the work that was performed. Understand, the movers themselves did an excellent job!! However the price we were initially charged for the service was EXTREMELY HIGH. To their credit, after viewing my initial post, a representative of Star Movers contacted me, agreed that the charge was too much, apologized and refunded us the entire amount. I appreciate and applaud Star Movers for doing that. Therefore I'm replacing my initial post with this one. I hope Star Movers continues to offer fair pricing for their services. I saw your response. The gentleman who did my very short move was NOT in a 'box truck' but a 250 size pickup truck. I assumed it was his small company? I had 10-12 boxes, a large poster and two e-bikes. There was also no 'cargo trailer.' My two e-bikes had minor damage from the move. Suggest more careful coordination and care when moving these. read more
