This place was a life saver. I lived at the Holiday Inn down the street for 2 months for work. The menu is decent and the food is OK. The service was decent as well. However, all in all -- nothing to blow you away here -- but it is a decent value for the money. The ambiance is where this place should pick it up several notches. The bar is A-OK and a decent environment for a place like this. Unfortunately the restaurant is a bit of a time warp (in a bad way), its dated, has cheap chairs and tables and they play music from the 1940's. The only TV in the room is displaying Keno (sweet, not). If you want to watch a game but have to sit in the dining room you are out of luck. If you bring kids into JP's you will be forced to sit in the dining room even though there are ample tables and chairs (nicer ones too) in the bar area. The owners ought to visit a 99 or an Applebees to see how the chains handle it. Feel free to check it out ...but stick to the bar. Drink prices are good. This is another unnecessarily flawed place. read more

Local bar with a restaurant attached. Standard bar food. Wings are very good. French onion soup is just ok. A little too salty for my taste. Fast service that is generally friendly. Keno is available in the bar area. Good atmosphere and nice place to get a quick bite. read more

Three of us on Saturday night for dinner . Tried the bar side and we weren't disappointed ! We were going to get the corned beef which looked delicious but decided on pizza . I have never had pizza this good . This is the best in the area , even better than Red Rose . It took a little while but it was worth the wait . Waitress was fantastic . One bartender handles 50 people comfortably. The beer is cold and the wings are good. Right next to the mall too.

Not sure who bartender is on most day shifts in the lounge area. But she needs a bar back or help tipped out or not. Horrible service. Can't handle it on own! Ok, here goes, I don't ever really leave negative reviews often BUT tonight!! Got there and had to wait about 10min for a table in bar area because for whatever reason we couldn't sit in the dining area. Okay. Got to our table ordered drinks, server forgot what I ordered, no biggie I forget things walking from my living room to kitchen lol. She promises she's no "spaceshot" our meals will be right! We actually FINISH our first round of drinks before she even comes back to take our food order. I order a salad with chicken, comes out great, my other friend orders basic chicken sandwich, fine. Other friend orders Chicken pesto pizza no mushrooms, comes out with onions all over it, no where on menu does it state onions, she HATES onions. They offer to remake it, begrudgingly she agrees, it now comes out, no onions and of course we again remind no mushrooms but now with SPINACH on it!!! Wtf who does that? Just look at the menu and see what kind of pizza it is, chicken, pesto, tomato, mozzarella, NOT HARD!! Other friend orders the San Francisco Burger, gets the Santa Fe Burger REALLY!!!! She chooses not to send hers back. We get checked on, order another round of drinks, she forgets the friend with the pizza's drink, Malibu and Coke. We remind her and she bring a Malibu with who knows what, but not Coke!!!! C'mon!!! It was overall not a good experience. Bartenders were awesome with getting Keno in!! read more

The turkey club was okay, although they use a deli sliced type meat rather than meat from a roasted turkey. Their fries were cold and mushy. When told, they brought new, although they were hot this time, it was apparent they were microwaved. They were soft and came out almost immediately. Met a group of people for dinner sitting at the bar. Another friend stopped in quickly to show off her baby. Owner Jaime came over and told her she had to leave because kids were not allowed in the bar. Mother was not sitting at the bar and was standing behind us holding her 10 month old. Really?!? No good hospitality! These people have no clue on what real hospitality is! We were there eating and drinking and could not get their special of prime rib Togo. We don't care the price just could not get it Togo. The waitress explained that it is "to get people in". Well we're in drinking and had to get home. JP's is a great local hangout, that is much of a neighborhood place that you will come across. They have great wings, pizza and the absolute best, fish and chips. The bar is welcoming, and you can even win some cash, playing keno. Large screen tvs feature every Red Sox game, and the bar is stocked with many brands of beer. Had lunch here today and it was excellent! Our server was attentive, friendly and quick. I had the fish and chips and the fish was possibly the best fried fish I have ever had. At least top 3 anyway. You can tell they were frying it in clean oil at the right temp and the the fish was fresh, flaky and cooked perfectly. I'm not sure if the coleslaw is house made or not, but it was also very tasty! The fries were fries. The only thing that could have made this lunch any better would be if they cut their own fries, but they were just fine with me! The people I was with both had the Ruben sandwich and they said it was delicious. We all cleaned our plates. We shared the Tuxedo cake for dessert and it was super good. The prices here are more than reasonable and their menu can be viewed on their website, which is always important to me. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Great service, felt very welcome with family pictures on the wall. Our appetizer was potatoe skins they were okay but not as crispy as I expected not too much cheese either. The main meal was a small honey barbecue chicken pizza which had two cheeses it was not bad it had some garlic which added to the flavor would recommend the pizza. They sadly only had a relatively small selection of Coca Cola products only. The small plates that came with the appetizer was a little dirty which made me not want to use or eat off. Never a disappointment ! My family lives in Greenfield and this is BY FAR my go to place !

Looking at the outside of this diner I expected it to be dark because there weren't many windows but it was the sports bar side. The diner side was nicely lighted with windows and comfortable booths and tables for seating. I ordered the mozzarella sticks that were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside as an appetizer which was very good. Sided with a flavorful marinara sauce that made an amazing combination! After that I shared a pepperoni and hamburger calzone which was so big my aunt and I only ate half together. For a calzone, mozzarella sticks, two sodas and refills it was around $30 so it wasn't too pricey for good food. The service here was very nice. Our waiter checked up on us enough but not too much so she wasn't always coming over and bugging us. Everyone here was very nice and gave us our food in a reasonable timing and always made sure we were satisfied with our meal and if we needed another drink or extra napkins. I've heard many good things about this restaurant and I couldn't agree more with what they had to say, nice service, great food, and a nice place to enjoy lunch or dinner with family and/or friends. Looking for a night out? Somewhere to watch Sunday football? Or a simple lunch? I would definitely recommend anyone to eat here. I would definitely get the mozzarella sticks and a calzone but if you don't want that they have potato skins, wings, salads, burgers, Chicken Francaise, Shrimp scampi, a lobster roll, or a pizza. I have their wings almost every time I go! I try them at other restaurants but honestly no comparison. They have this angle hair pasta dish with grilled chicken, bacon, mushrooms , spinach and poppy seed dressing that you have to try- sooo good. Also their servers are great. I went to this restaurant based on previous reviews and found something must have changed. We sat down to dirty silverware -- fine, one piece is dirty, you swap it out. But we kept on having to replace our setup with clean silverware. Then the salads came and every other piece was rotten. We were afraid to see our main courses (especially my restaurant worker friend who had a salad as her main course). It was clear those salads were old, old, old and that no one on staff had checked them before sending them out. We had to leave. read more

I've been to JP's numerous times when visiting family in Western Mass. The most recent visit was two nights ago. The parking lot spelled like rotten coleslaw. I have nothing bad to say about the service, but the food is awful. Stay close to a bathroom the rest of the night. read more

i really like jp's and the sat. afternoon bartender is really great. we have voted her bartender of the year for the last 3 years. she tends bar, waits on tables and does keno with out missing a bet. well that was until recently and they now have a full time keno girl. i would recommend this place any day. read more
