Service staff was super friendly. Clean ambiance. Delicious food. You do have to wait just a tad bit longer for the food since they're making it fresh, but overall super satisfied! I want to go back and try the other items. I'd say to help pass time, get ready to order an appetizer right away, if you will, then after that order goes through, then look through the rest of the menu to try to decide what you'll have for entre, as again, it might take some time. When we were there, there were a consistent flow of people coming in and out for take outs, so I'm sure they're busy.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 After living in Poway for 25 years, I only discovered Joyee within the past two years, and honestly, I have no idea how I missed it for so long. Joyee is a legit, homey Chinese restaurant that delivers every single time. The service is friendly, no fuss, and very efficient, whether it's busy or slow. What really stands out is the food. It is always fresh, piping hot, and insanely delicious every time we visit. No matter when we come, the quality and consistency never change. Everything we've ordered has been amazing -- from the boiled fish and boiled beef to the walnut shrimp, salt and pepper fish, Mongolian beef, and the green beans with garlic, which is my absolute favorite. Every dish hits the spot. We've also ordered takeout many times for family gatherings, and the food always travels well and is just as good at home. We are always left super happy and super stuffed after every visit. If you're looking for a solid Chinese food spot in Poway, I cannot recommend Joyee enough. This is hands down my number one Chinese restaurant in Poway,

Came here after we went to another neighborhood favorite was closed. Wasn't sure what to expect but thought we'd give it a try and we were pleasantly surprised. Started with some appetizers, potstickers and popcorn chicken and I thoroughly enjoyed each dish. Having eaten popcorn chicken at other dumpling restaurants, the pieces are sometimes pretty small and get lost in all the breading. These were good. Potstickers tasted good as well. For our entrees, we ordered the Seafood Dumpling Soup and Walnut Shrimp. The walnut shrimp had the right amount of sauce and tasted good. We also shared a Beef Roll, which was good. Shopping center can get pretty busy on the weekend with other restaurants, retail, and gym but the parking lot is big enough to be able to find a good space. Inside of restaurant is pretty sparse, but plenty of seating.

The people at this place were so kind!! My waiter, George? from the get-go was so happy-go-lucky. We talked the entire time I had my meal and he was so funny! I got the honey walnut shrimp and the bok choy and the portions were so huge! George truly made my day and taught me so much about Chinese culture and practices! Come for the food and the ambiance.

Poway's best kept secret. Our favorite place to stop at for chow mein, xiao long bao, and dumplings. Everything is fire, they have reasonable prices, nice staff, and delicious food. People mostly do takeout, which makes dining in so much more relaxed. I was introduced to this place by my Chinese relatives. We love Joyee's!!

Enjoyed lunch here. The cucumber cold appetizer was perfectly seasoned with salt and garlic and crisp. Still thinking about the cucumber appetizer. Boiled dumplings and eggplant dish were good. XLB soup dumpling was just okay and they were stuck together. Beef chow fun noodles were flavorful. Service was good and friendly. He was covering the entire restaurant and did a good job at lunch. Lunch time was moderately busy inside. It was clean and decent sized.

Went in for a quick bite and left satisfied! The server was helpful and attentive. We only ordered two things, their potstickers and dumplings were so delicious! The filling inside was packed and flavorful! We got full with just these two so sadly we weren't able to try anything else but definitely bookmarked to come back!

The place is nice and comfy, great service from the staff there, but most importantly, the food. The orange soda was nice, yes, it's from a bottle, but it's a fairly unique flavor I haven't had elsewhere. The mapo tofu though. Absolutely the most flavorful mapo tofu I've had ANYWHERE. This stuff was like 2 steps below a climax, but in my mouth and tongue. I couldn't stop eating it. I took it home to eat later, but unfortunately warming it up in the microwave kills a bit of the flavor; it was still very good though. But fresh at restaurant itself? My god. I would drive 5 hours to eat this. I would be on the toilet for 10 hours to eat this. I don't care. It's THAT good.

    Chicken dumplings - good

This place was decent. Food was good, service was okay. We were irked that their menu doesn't reflect their current offerings. For example, we were excited to get the walnut chocolate bun. They told us they don't have walnuts, just chocolate, so we ordered it anyway expecting something like the picture on the menu. But it was something much different. Still a dessert, but we wouldn't have ordered it if it wasn't going to have that waffley look and expected taste like the picture. We didn't love the fried cream cheese wontons, scallion pancakes were nice to have but a little too greasy for us, chicken dumplings were good, and wouldn't get the chocolate buns again.

The best experiences in food may be in ordinary food places that can pull your heartstrings.

I came in for lunch with one other person on a Monday before hitting the road. It was difficult ordering because I wanted everything on the menu. We ended up getting a bunch of different items. My favorites we got included the salmon poke nachos, their classic fish taco (both grilled and fried), and clam chowder. I love that the salmon poke nachos had imitation crab and a nice sauce over it. The fish tacos were packed and had lots of flavor. Both grilled and fried were good and I love that you get the option. Their gumbo and calamari was cool but not a favorite. The gumbo was bland to us and the calamari was a little over fried but still good. We enjoyed our food and had left overs. The staff is really nice and was super helpful. The inside of this place is spacey and casual. They have extra hot sauce and other sauces out that you can grab. They also had a nice patio seating area where we sat with a dog. I do want to come back and try their other seafood items including their seafood boil. I recommend if you want a casual seafood spot.

So we went here in Mira Mesa and they had plenty of seating, and they had nice decors and lighting inside. We got seated quickly and so we made our order quickly too. Here is what we had: *EL VIEJON FAJITAS (Mix combo: Steak, Chicken, Shrimps) *WHOLE FRIED FISH (Red Snapper) *CAMPECHANA (Shrimp, Octopus, Scallop) *VIEJON EMPANADAS (Smoked Fish) *AL PASTOR TACOS COMBO *OCTOPUS TACOS COMBO *GUAVA MARGARITA I was really craving for a CAMPECHANA, this has SHRIMPS, SCALLOPS, and OCTOPUS. This one came with tortilla chips, usually I get a crackers with it in some restaurants, but tortilla chips are still okay. I added some spicy sauce and the next thing I know I forgot to share it with my Son and Husband, I like this CAMPECHANA ;) For appetizers I chose their VIEJON EMPANADA with smoked Fish fillings and I didn't like it, I thought that since it was an Empanada that it would be full of Flavor, but it's bland. My Son had the AL PASTOR TACO COMBO and OCTOPUS TACO COMBO, both of these Tacos were delicious, but the presentation of the AL PASTOR TACO and how the rice and beans looked like is the part that I didnt like, it's like they just Tossed the rice and beans in a rush. A small mexican restaurant nearby had a better food presentation than how they shaped the Rice and Beans on their plate here. My husband ordered the WHOLE FRIED FISH (RED SNAPPER), this one had pretty plating and was delicious, with all those dipping sauces, beans, tortilla, and salad, this is a good one. My Husband ate it with the Tortilla and I ate this Fish with the Rice. And for my food I got the EL VIEJON FAJITAS (Mix combo protein of SHRIMPS, STEAK, and CHICKEN). Omg the meats are tender, the shrimps are juicy, and it has nice Seasoning, really good Fajitas. My Drink was the GUAVA MARGARITA. I love anything with Guava flavor, and this one was a delicious guava margarita. Customer service is great here, our Server and another Guy bringing our food to the table were both very friendly and always on the lookout on our table for what else we might need. Also, other staff passing by our table always had this glowing smile, they are happy servers here to all the tables they pass by. Parking is okay, lots of space to park.

It was my first time trying the happy hour here, so we were going in a bit blind. Frankly, the happy hour menu isn't that extensive. We ordered the artichoke fritters, potato skins, clam chowder, and flatbread. The flatbread lacks any description on the menu, so we were very uncertain about what we were ordering, haha. I also got a piña colada. It turns out the flatbread is very sad-looking. It looks like they dumped some barbecue sauce chicken onto half a piece of flatbread. Very unimpressed with the presentation and flavor. Meanwhile, the artichoke fritters were oddly sour...? I don't have artichoke that often, so I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be like that...Regardless, let's just say we didn't finish it. The potato skins were okay, but how can you mess that up? It tastes exactly how it looks; nothing crazy or special. Finally, the clam chowder was very rich and creamy. You can't really taste the clam. I actually quite liked this dish, though my parents would vehemently disagree. Piña colada was very icy and watered down. Overall, I wouldn't come back to Brigantine..at least not for happy hour.
