I was craving shrimp lo mein and looked for a Chinese restaurant while I was in the area. Glad I found this place! Upon entering, the friendly waitress greeted me and seated me right away. I was in luck that shrimp lo mein was on the lunch special menu. Their lunch special is offered every day of the week. And what a deal! I opted for the hot and sour soup and it was delicious. The portion was a good size too. I ended up not eating the white rice that came with the order because I was full after the soup, shrimp lo mein, and eggroll. Take advantage of the lunch specials!

Food was prepared nice and quick. The service was friendly and we were in and out. We decided to get the dinner special, which includes a couple appetizers as well as rice and a main dish for each person. I'm not a big fan of the egg soup, but I gave it a try and it was pretty tasty. I loved adding in the little crispies. The eggroll was very hot and the vegetables inside were nice and crunchy. The dinner special came with rice and there was plenty of rice for both of us and then my husband upgraded to fried rice for his plate. Our chicken dishes were both very tasty. The chicken and vegetables was just as expected. The orange peel chicken was coated with a very light breading not overdone at all, and it was very good tasting. We were given two fortune cookies with our check. I was first alarmed that my fortune cookie didn't have a fortune, but learned that that might be good luck after all!

This place has been open for years and you can tell that everyone loves it because of the mom and pop chinese restaurant feel to it. The food comes out so fast and the taste is consistent. The workers are nice and very friendly. I enjoy coming here for lunch because it is a perfect size meal where you do not want to indulge in too much food, but still get full for a decent price! This place is small and the biggest party would most likely be a table of four. There are routine customers that dine which is so cute to see. I can tell why this place has such good reviews. The crispyness of the food is perfect every time. I love ordering take out from here. Tasty chinese food located in poway!

Visited 2/10/2025 Well I saw this place a week ago or so as I was visiting Amazon Fresh. I checked its ratings on Yelp and see it sits at a solid 4 1/2 Stars. I just had to see why. It's a small place with a good amount of seating clean and Family Owned and run. Mom out front and Pop in the kitchen cooking up some Traditional Chinese Dishes. Decent sized Menu with good amount of choices. Service was good and food came out fast. Prices were Surprisingly Low for Chinese Restaurants I've been to in awhile. Great Lunch Specials to choose from for around $10.00 bucks each, So My Lady and I ordered three of them to split and and sample. We ended up having leftovers for a snack later that evening. First we both had a cup of The Egg Drop Soup and Fried WonTons. Soup was very tasty just needed a tad more salt. It was a easy Fix. We had The #11 Mongolian Beef Lunch Special. $11.25 It was very tasty but could have used some spicier heat. Nothing a little Chili Oil added couldn't help. Next we tried from The Special Combination Plate Section, The #A Three Ingredient Taste Plate. $11.65 Was Excellent and turned out to be my favorite with a great sauce and tender well done Fresh Veggies. Great Choice. For the third choice we tried, The #C BBQ Pork Lo Mein Plate also from The Special Combo Plate Section. $10.95 Nice Combo Plate for the price with nice flavorful noodles and a good amount of the bbq pork mixed in. The Pork could have used a bit more bbq flavor but overall not bad. All in All this place didn't disappoint and I will be returning off and on for more of the menu. They do a big take out with many people coming in for pick up. The Service was friendly and food is served quickly. Food was fresh and affordable as Chinese Food goes in SD. We enjoyed out lunch and even the leftovers were tasty reheated that night. Worth a visit if your in the area. I don't think you'll be disappointed Bon Appetit My Friends

I have only been here for lunch, but where can you find a complete meal for under $11 in today's restaurant? The lunch menu starts with the choice of soup, main course, egg roll, and rice and finishes with fortune cookies, a definite deal. The place is simply decorated with great service.

I enjoyed my first visit to this small, no frills, strip mall Chinese restaurant! Upon being seated I was handed a small, multi-page paper menu containing many familiar dishes. I was intrigued by what they call "Snow Hill Chicken" so I ordered it in a Lunch Special. It was delicious, that I can tell you! Made with tender diced chicken in a dark cashew nut sauce with vinegar, wine and soy sauce plus a dash of white pepper. The menu labeled it as "spicy" but it wasn't really that spicy. It did have a nice tang with a great flavor and perfect wok hei. I may try this again next time in beef form. The Lunch Special included soup, wonton chips, an egg roll and rice. It's really a great value and a generous amount of food for only about $11. Very affordable for a nice sit-down meal in California these days. The service was rather surly and matter of fact but that's usually what I expect from a family run Chinese establishment. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Plenty of parking in this plaza. Friendly staff and quick service. I asked for a split check prior to ordering but she still combined it at the end. Cozy indoor and outdoor dining. Rate 3.5, round to 4. Their lunch specials are daily from 11-3pm that comes with rice and appetizers. You can add $1 for soup and $1 for vegetables. There are 16 items with two vegetarian items. There's also a section called "special combination plate" that offer choices served daily 11-5pm, after 5pm would be $1 extra. Different items than lunch and comes with same sides but with egg roll and wontons. Add $1 for soup. I decided against lunch menu and got fresh wonton soup with noodles. It was a decent size bowl that could be easily shared among two if family style. Since I ate it as a meal, it was like the size of a ramen bowl. It was lo mein noodles and 4 freshly made pork wontons with cabbage, broccoli and carrots. The broccoli was too tough and needed to be cooked a tad bit longer. The broth was perfect for my palate but others might say it was bland. You can add sauces. My friend got the lo mein bba pork under special combo plate. I saw an egg roll but not cream cheese wonton. For dinner, there's a menu for $16 or $17 per person with 6 choices. The menu is comparable to other Chinese restaurants and with fair prices. The shrimp category seems to be the highest at $17.85 which is understandable with seafood.

Ordering is done via an ipad at the table but they're available for any menu questions and quick with water refills. Food is SO GOOD. You can really tell the dumpling wrappers (for dumplings, xiao long bao, and wontons) are handmade. They're more springy and al dente and beautifully wrapped. We ordered a ton of food and everything was really tasty I didn't react fast enough with photos. Xiao long bao are a MUST - and you gotta enjoy it with the vinegar and ginger! The cucumber salad is WAY better than ding tai fung's in both taste, texture, and portion! Chili oil wontons were big and deliciously fragrant, not spicy. Pan fried pork buns were crispy on the bottom with a soft and pillowy bread and juicy meat filling. We also got the combination fried rice which was beautifully golden eggy and full of meat & shrimp. The green beans were flavorful and not overly oily. Fried chicken wings were one of my favorites! Last but not least we also ordered the chonqing spicy chicken - not too spicy, full of numbing peppercorn goodness, fried lightly and very criispy. The restaurant is well decorated and clean, very spacious and good for groups. There's a cute gazebo table right at the front too. Plenty of parking in the plaza lot. . It is always fresh, piping hot, and insanely delicious every time we visit. No matter when we come, the quality and consistency never change. If you want plain rice, it's an extra $2 per serving. Also fried rice for $14 with no meat? This is a very high profit margin. - the vegetables in our dishes were quite mushy like they were steamed and then sautéed again for the order. I prefer our vegetables to be fresh and crunchy. It was $76. Ordered fried rice, chow mein, one shrimp entree, orange chicken and house chicken. My wife picked it up and noticed the house chicken was not in the bag. Had to drive back to the restaurant and was told I ordered house CHOW MEIN. (No, I did not! 4 of us were sitting here and the other 3 people overheard the order). So had to wait while they begrudgingly took back the house chow mein I did not order and made the house chicken entree. When we finally got back home with the now cold food, after 2 bites we threw ALL of it in the trash. The orange chicken and house chicken were inexplicably dried out and stringy, almost like jerky. They also put those 2 entrees, right off the open flame wok, in to PLASTIC FOAM CLAMSHELL CONTAINERS. The heat from the entrees literally melt and warp the foam containers, and the food tastes like plastic. These type of single use foam containers were banned - ILLEGAL - in San Diego FOUR YEARS AGO!!! WHY are they still being used here? The chow mein and fried rice were also horribly, chokingly dry. And the shrimp tasted very fishy, like it had seen better days. I live in the area and used to come here all the time, then stopped several years ago due to a HUGE downgrade in the quality of their food. It has now gotten even worse, if thats even possible. Panda Express, down the street, is 100 times better than this. It would have been less than half price of this place and WAY better quality.
