I don't like leaving bad reviews but this is probably THE worst chinese food I have ever had in my life. E V E R . Ordered food for 4 of us last night over the phone to be picked up. It was $76. Ordered fried rice, chow mein, one shrimp entree, orange chicken and house chicken. My wife picked it up and noticed the house chicken was not in the bag. Had to drive back to the restaurant and was told I ordered house CHOW MEIN. (No, I did not! 4 of us were sitting here and the other 3 people overheard the order). So had to wait while they begrudgingly took back the house chow mein I did not order and made the house chicken entree. When we finally got back home with the now cold food, after 2 bites we threw ALL of it in the trash. The orange chicken and house chicken were inexplicably dried out and stringy, almost like jerky. They also put those 2 entrees, right off the open flame wok, in to PLASTIC FOAM CLAMSHELL CONTAINERS. The heat from the entrees literally melt and warp the foam containers, and the food tastes like plastic. These type of single use foam containers were banned - ILLEGAL - in San Diego FOUR YEARS AGO!!! WHY are they still being used here? The chow mein and fried rice were also horribly, chokingly dry. And the shrimp tasted very fishy, like it had seen better days. I live in the area and used to come here all the time, then stopped several years ago due to a HUGE downgrade in the quality of their food. It has now gotten even worse, if thats even possible. Panda Express, down the street, is 100 times better than this. It would have been less than half price of this place and WAY better quality. read more

i've been a customer here since I was seven years old. I remember coming here with my parents from that age. i continue to buy food from and currently live 4 minutes away! :) they have the best Chinese food. I go to order is the chicken wonton soup, house special fried rice and beef with broccoli. I always call in and pick up in the surface is always amazing! It's family owned. It always has been. The recipes had been the same since I can remember. Hubby and I checked out this place because we live nearby. I wanted to like this place because they're family owned and the woman helping me at the register was so sweet. Unfortunately, I was unsatisfied with the food. We ordered from the lunch special and the food seemed old, especially the rice that came with it. There was so much rice, way more than beef. I got the house special beef combo and the beef was flavorful but really chewy and overcooked. The salad that came with it wasn't too bad and had a tasty dressing. I prefer mixed greens for my salad but this one was a cabbage salad. I don't think I'd come back. Prices are very affordable and portions are decent size. read more

I am a very happy gal!!! Wow!! This delicious kung pow beef lunch special is huuuge the portion is basically enough for lunch and dinner for me. I chose a salad today and it came with a dumpling that was so yummy it didn't get a chance to join the group photo. Will definitely be back since I'm just minutes away. Easy 5/5 for Quick Wok in Sabre Springs, San Diego. I always go for the Kung Pao beef lunch plate--it's my absolute favorite. I've been eating here for 17 years, all the way since I was a junior in high school, and it's still just as good as I remember. AWFUL!! This place used to be good many years ago, not sure what happened but I will never ever eat food from here again. Tough, dried out, way overcooked stringy dry orange chicken, house chicken, and shrimp tasted old and fishy. They also still use foam clam shell containers and put food directly from a hot wok pan right off the flame in to a foam clamshell container, which melts the foam, warps it, and your food tastes like melted plastic. Wish I could say for the food definitely old chicken. It's dry. There was no sauce and I got bits of dried up batter barely any chicken they seasoned it well, I'll give that to them. I decided to not have an appetizer this time, but the portions they gave were more than enough. The ingredients were fresh tasting, the fried rice was really good, but I have to say the broccoli beef was perhaps one of my favorites in San Diego. The beef is thin strips and not the fatty thick pieces you normally get. This beef was very well seasoned, and practically melts in your mouth with how tender it is. The prices were affordable $9-10 per lunch special. I thought it was a full box of chow mein, not sure how I would eat steam rice with the chow mein. The noodles were flavorful though. The orange chicken did not taste like orange chicken at all. Tasted like a sweet sauce but no orange flavor. The chicken was hard and dry. Some of the pieces felt like fish bones, stabbing the insides of my mouth. The "salad" was disappointing. It was raw cabbage which is much less appetizing compared to lettuce imo. read more

This hidden gem is one of my favorite places simply because of their honey walnut chicken which I haven't been able to find anywhere else! The outside is super crispy and the sauce is sweet as expected from honey walnut prawns but the chicken just hits a little differently. I've only placed to go orders over the phone and it has always been accurate and ready by the time I come pick it up. My son loves their Mongolian beef (literally says it is one of the best things he has ever had) and my favorite is the War Wonton soup, we usually get a large serving to go and share as a family. You get two large containers, the broth is light and the wontons are super tasty. Prices have gone up a bit over time but you get plenty of food. We usually place orders to go and the food is fresh (cooked right in front of your eyes), always hot, and overall yummy. Is anyone else just pissed about how much lunch costs these days? It wasn't that long ago that you could get a decent, non-fast food lunch in the $5 to $6 range. But since about 2018, if you find yourself stuck in some trendy neighborhood at lunch time, it's no trick at all to spend $12 to $14 for lunch. Considering that I usually bring my lunch to work, that's just way too much. Quick Wok to the rescue. For just $7.55 ($7.85 seafood), you get your choice of almost 30 dishes, served with rice, soup, appetizer and fortune cookie. I called ahead and picked up to-go. With my Chicken Curry today, I got a potsticker as the appetizer. And NO up-charge for the soup to-go, like some other places. My Hot and Sour came in a little styrofoam cup and was very soothing (I've got a cold). By comparison, Chin's Szechwan lunch "specials" are about $13-$14 and Beijing City is around $12. Doesn't sound very "special" to me. How much better can they be? The "dining room" is far from luxurious, and I don't believe that they have a liquor license, so best as a lunch option or "to-go" for dinner. If you know where Oggi's is, this place is behind it in the corner of the same plaza. Super easy to get to. I got back to PQ in less than 10 minutes with hot food. Everything was really good, and I look forward to returning with my family to try more dishes! read more

I've been eating at this Quick Wok since back in the 1900's! Small restaurant, no frills, but great Chinese food. The staff is always so nice too. Outstanding selection of lunch specials that go until 3:00 pm daily. One of my faves here is definitely their Kung Pao Chicken. I order Kung Pao all over and it's usually a disappointment. Not here. I'm always impressed by their wok seared proteins. They have a nice crispy texture. Spicy dishes are perfectly balanced and not over the top. Highly recommended. read more
