The decor is nice and the service is good, but some small things here and there regarding the food that kept it from being a 5 star experience for me. Overall a perfectly decent place to grab Thai food. APPETIZERS: Chicken satay - Lightly breaded unlike other places, gave it a fried fishcake like texture which wasn't what I was looking for in chicken satay. The peanut sauce was also a bit too salty for my liking. Fried tofu - Crispy, with a light and sweet sauce. Well done. Curry puff - A much sweeter, drier, and potato heavy curry. Very akin to a samosa. The flavor was pretty mild, but the skin was nice and flaky. Nothing to write home about. ENTREES: Chicken pad thai - Well sauced and flavorful, though I wish it came with more bean sprouts. They also give you only a spoon for serving which makes mixing and scooping difficult. Noodles are on the firmer side. Panang curry - Too salty for my taste and a little fish sauce forward. This Thai restaurant was solid! Right when I walked in I was greeted warmly by the waiters and ushered to a booth. The interior was very modern, bright, and clean. I ordered the Khao Soi with steak and my wife ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised the steak was moist and medium rare! I've had a challenging time finding Khao Soi with consistently good steak. My wife's Pad Thai was solid but not spectacular. Service was really friendly and attentive and they even boxed up our leftover food for us which was a really nice touch! By 8:30 pm when we left, the restaurant had cleared out for an upcoming 9:00 pm close which was in line with expectations for a sleepy RB evening. read more

Came by here for some dinner cause I didn't realize this restaurant had opened near my house. I ended up ordering a hot basil chicken dish with rice and my partner got the creamy tom yum. We also shared a papaya salad together. The papaya salad was probably the best dish we had as the sauce paired great with the papaya strips. As for the hot basil dish it was seasoned well and the sauce used paired well with the chicken pieces and vegetables included. On the other hand for the creamy tom yum soup it just felt like a more mild tom yum soup (less tamarind forward). Didn't wait very long for the food to come out and service was very friendly. The interior of the store was also decorated very nicely. All in all, it's a solid Thai restaurant that I would be happy to revisit! read more

Everything here was phenomenal. We saw this place had just opened so popped in on a whim to give it a try for dinner. The service was quick, hot and delicious. We stopped here after a day at Glen Coco Hot Springs and were ready to pig out. We ordered the chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, and gyoza to start. We ordered classic Thai teas for our beverage and those did not disappoint either. The veggies in the spring rolls were so crisp, the steamed gyoza was flavorful, and the chicken satay was extremely juicy. The star of the show, hands down, was the peanut sauce that everything came with. I usually don't care for peanut sauce but there was something about this one where the peanuts weren't overpowering and it had a nice sweetness to eat. We both also ordered the drunken noodles with chickens and got spice level 6. It was definitely on the spicier side but everything was hot and yummy upon arrival. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, extra vegetables, and spice level 4. It was hands down one of the best drunken noodles I've ever had! This place used to be an Indian restaurant that I liked. When my friend made reservations for her birthday dinner here I didn't realize till I got here that the Indian restaurant didn't last. Bummer. Hopefully they just moved to a different location. Upon arriving till the time we left the servers were wonderful. Very attentive and kind to all of us ladies. It was nicely decorated and the reservation spot ready and very tidy for our arrival. What was lacking for me was the food. Way too salty unfortunately. I only had half of a kabob/skewer and couldn't eat anymore. I also had a weird aftertaste from the orange chicken. That didn't have a real orange essence flavor to me. I only had three pieces and didn't even want the third piece that I put on my plate but I needed to eat something. Maybe I'll give them a try some other time. This new restaurant is located in the same lot as Sprouts. Took over Himalayan. It's very new, if I'm not wrong, it just opened early December. I was excited to try a new restaurant that's near me. Saturday we ordered online and got it delivered. Delivery came promptly. We were notified along the way the progress of our delivery. So that was great. The menu is not Thai. It's a little of everything. Gyoza (Japanese/Chinese), Cream Cheese (ABC), Fresh Spring Roll (Vietnamese), Edamame, tempura, just to name a few. If you're looking for typical Thai dishes, this is not the place. Because it's new, we wanted to try it anyway. This restaurant caters to the local palate - Sugar is key. We ordered the Green Curry - The curry was sweet... just way too much sugar. The colour was pandan food coloring. The ingredients were ok. The chicken was dry, there was bamboo shoots, the eggplant used was not the Thai green eggplant. Very disappointing. The Khao Soi - another sweet curry-like noodle dish. Very disappointing again. I understand that Thai dishes use sugar but this is way too much - because the American palate loves sugar. The Gyoza - bought frozen and deep fried. It was ok. At least it's not sugar sweet. Tom Yam Goong - What came was Gai, we let it slide. Nothing memorable except could do with less sugar. Ginger Fish - Decent. It was simple, clear broth and the fish was done well. Curry puff - 2 per order. We ordered 2 of those. Everyone thought it was good and a few think that this is ordered from a lady that supplies curry puffs to Thai restaurants. Therefore no complains there. This might be a very honest and blunt review but in the hopes that they do better. Provide food that is more Thai, not neither here nor there. It's a Thai restaurant for crying out loud. If we want crab rangoon, there are loads of ABC Chinese places that provide that. Same for Japanese restaurants for Edamame. read more

I stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the food. There are pictures of the food on the menu and my first thought was that nothing looked really appetizing. However, whereas the presentation may be a little lacking, the flavor and the cookery of all the proteins in the food were fantastic. I had fresh spring rolls with shrimp, chicken satay, and pad se ew with chicken. The fresh spring rolls had great flavor and texture and the peanut sauce served with it was warm and delicious. The chicken satay skewers were a flavor bomb and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The pad se ew was also a winner. The noodles tasted great. The only small criticism I had was that I wished the noodles had a little more basil leaves. All in all, the food and the service was 5 stars and I will definitely be back to try more things. read more

I took my daughter out to eat since we haven't been able to do this in a long time. The food was not good. First we had Tom Kah...it was tasty, missing the lemon grass bits and galangal, they are very important to flavoring Thai soup. Second, they ask how spicy and you say approx 4/5...then all dishes come overly spiced out at hot lava, spicier than 9? We thought, maybe she misheard? We looked at the receipt, nope it said 5....so the cook...needs to exucate themselves on heat levels. I can eat jalapenos, trust me this food was out the door screaming painful spicy. The noodles for the drunken noodle dish all broken and in pieces same with pad see ew dish, so spicy out the door hot lava noodles with the vegetables and chicken was like mush. The food has a strange aftertaste and we are super thirsty....hence lots of msg!!!!! Woke up today and eyes are almost swollen shut. THEY USE MSG she said no but they lied. $80 dollars later for a lunch special lunch that wasn't even palatable was too much for me. I didn't complain because they are new, mom and pop style, I didn't want them to think I was trying to get a free meal. I will NEVER go back. By adding the msg, they put my health at risk. It's great that the other reviews highlight this place. I'm just giving you my take on my experience there. My daughter was equally disappointed since she is the one that suggested this place. Tried out Spoon Thai for lunch and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and clearly made with care. I ordered the yellow curry and my friend got the panang curry, both were super tasty, rich, and satisfying. The portion sizes were generous too, so you definitely get your money's worth. My friend has actually been there about five times already, and after this visit, I can totally see why she keeps coming back. It was pretty busy for lunch even though its a work day ! Says somthing. The ambiance had a nice cozy vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. It was excellent from start to finish. They even packed up our leftovers for us, which was such a refreshing change from the usual "here are your boxes, good luck" experience you get at most places.
