This Thai restaurant was solid! Right when I walked in I was greeted warmly by the waiters and ushered to a booth. The interior was very modern, bright, and clean. I ordered the Khao Soi with steak and my wife ordered the pad Thai with shrimp. I was pleasantly surprised the steak was moist and medium rare! I've had a challenging time finding Khao Soi with consistently good steak. My wife's Pad Thai was solid but not spectacular. Service was really friendly and attentive and they even boxed up our leftover food for us which was a really nice touch! By 8:30 pm when we left, the restaurant had cleared out for an upcoming 9:00 pm close which was in line with expectations for a sleepy RB evening.

    Hot basil w/ chicken

Came by here for some dinner cause I didn't realize this restaurant had opened near my house. I ended up ordering a hot basil chicken dish with rice and my partner got the creamy tom yum. We also shared a papaya salad together. The papaya salad was probably the best dish we had as the sauce paired great with the papaya strips. As for the hot basil dish it was seasoned well and the sauce used paired well with the chicken pieces and vegetables included. On the other hand for the creamy tom yum soup it just felt like a more mild tom yum soup (less tamarind forward). Didn't wait very long for the food to come out and service was very friendly. The interior of the store was also decorated very nicely. All in all, it's a solid Thai restaurant that I would be happy to revisit!

Thai-rific from the first bite! @spoonthaikitchen Thai just opened in Rancho Bernardo and everything we ordered was so good -- creamy Thai tea, tom yum soup, chicken satay, crying tiger, and pad see yu, was absolutely delicious. A must-try new spot! The staff is soo friendly and love the atmosphere.

Opened around January 2026, this new, family-run restaurant features owners White and Kenny serving up light and fresh, fast-casual Thai dishes in North San Diego. THE FOOD Impressively, the owners ensured that every dish came out piping hot from the kitchen. * Chicken Satay: Fresh, juicy, and served with crisp veggies and flavorful sauces. They did a really nice job on the cooking. * Ginger Fish (Swai): Topped with fresh ginger and cilantro to brighten the dish. This has a calmer, light-to-medium flavor profile, so I highly recommend enjoying it before diving into any of the heartier curries or dishes with robust flavors. * Red Curry with Shrimp: Rich and balanced without being too sweet, and the vegetables were cooked nicely. We ordered a 4-star spice level, but next time I will venture to the 6-7 level for an even more robust kick. THE SERVICE White and Kenny showed great enthusiasm throughout the meal. They were constantly moving around, checking on tables, and eagerly sharing their knowledge and love for food and hospitality. OVERALL A pleasant family eatery serving fresh food with excellent, family-friendly service. Wishing them the best on their restaurant journey!

I saw there was a new Thai restaurant next to Sprouts in the Rancho Bernardo complex and decided to try it out. Overall, we had a positive experience. The ambiance is modern and clean with several tables and booths inside. The menu includes a variety of options including soups, noodles, rice dishes, and appetizers. Their prices are comparable to other Thai places nearby with most entrees between $14-20. The servers were friendly and professional. Our food came out within minutes and was fresh and hot. What could make this place 5 stars? If the chef slightly tones down the salt...the noodles were a bit salty to taste. Also if they add a lunch menu!

Both entrees we ordered, green curry and pad see u were good, full of authentic Thai flavors and spices. A bowl of tom yum soup was also yummy. Place was packed with dine-in customers, and take out crowd was a pretty decent size. Must've also had a few catering orders as well. It took a long time for us to get served but was understandable for there were only two waitstaffs. Customer service was sweet, friendly and apologetic. Enjoyed the food and friendly service! Will come back when it's not too crowded.

Fast service and super kind employees -- everyone was really welcoming from the start. The place is very cutely decorated and has a cozy vibe. It is on the smaller side though, so I can see it being a little harder to seat a bigger party. The crab fried rice was SO good -- everyone at my table kept sneaking spoonfuls from my plate. And the mango sticky rice tasted freshly made and was actually softer than most sticky rice I've had before. Would definitely come back!

Papaya salad, drunken noodles with tofu, red curry with tofu

Looks like this place just opened up near us, so we tried take out from here. I feel pretty confident we'll be regulars now! We got the red curry, drunken noodles (must try), and papaya salad. Love them all, especially the drunken noodles and papaya salad. The spice level is quite accurate, so tread carefully if you get 8-10. Our food was ready in 15-20 mins from when I ordered online. Friendly service when we picked up, restaurant looked nice for sit down too. And our food was piping hot when we ate it at home. Apologies the picture was taken after we started eating, we were too eager. We'll be seeing you again :)

Everything here was phenomenal. We saw this place had just opened so popped in on a whim to give it a try for dinner. The service was quick, hot and delicious. We stopped here after a day at Glen Coco Hot Springs and were ready to pig out. We ordered the chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, and gyoza to start. We ordered classic Thai teas for our beverage and those did not disappoint either. The veggies in the spring rolls were so crisp, the steamed gyoza was flavorful, and the chicken satay was extremely juicy. The star of the show, hands down, was the peanut sauce that everything came with. I usually don't care for peanut sauce but there was something about this one where the peanuts weren't overpowering and it had a nice sweetness to eat. We both also ordered the drunken noodles with chickens and got spice level 6. It was definitely on the spicier side but everything was hot and yummy upon arrival. My friend also got the mango sticky rice for dessert. I personally am not a fan because of the texture but she really enjoyed it!

A Wonderful Surprise - Best Drunken Noodles Ever in RB! Wow, what a pleasant surprise to discover Spoon Thai Kitchen right on the RB/Poway border! As someone who's picky about Thai food (especially drunken noodles), this new spot has instantly become my absolute favorite. The staff was incredibly attentive, and the service was lightning fast - my food arrived at the table in under 10 minutes. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken, extra vegetables, and spice level 4. It was hands down one of the best drunken noodles I've ever had! The ingredients tasted so fresh and farm-to-table vibrant, with wide rice noodles perfectly cooked, flavorful sauce that delivered the good kind of spicy (bold flavor without just burning your mouth), and veggies that were still crispy - exactly how I love them, not overcooked at all. I probably could've handled level 6 next time, but 4 was spot on for a great heat. Paired it with their Thai tea, which tasted freshly made with the perfect sweetness - no overly sugary syrup here. I left so happy! If you're in Rancho Bernardo or nearby, do yourself a favor and try this gem. It's exactly what the area needed - fresh, delicious Thai done right. Can't wait to go back and make this my regular spot!

This place used to be an Indian restaurant that I liked. When my friend made reservations for her birthday dinner here I didn't realize till I got here that the Indian restaurant didn't last. Bummer. Hopefully they just moved to a different location. Upon arriving till the time we left the servers were wonderful. Very attentive and kind to all of us ladies. It was nicely decorated and the reservation spot ready and very tidy for our arrival. What was lacking for me was the food. Way too salty unfortunately. I only had half of a kabob/skewer and couldn't eat anymore. I also had a weird aftertaste from the orange chicken. That didn't have a real orange essence flavor to me. I only had three pieces and didn't even want the third piece that I put on my plate but I needed to eat something. Maybe I'll give them a try some other time. My friend did inform them that several of us felt the same way on the saltiness and flavoring being off. I hope it improves and that they can last at this location.

Wonton soup! The broth had so much flavor!

All the food was excellent!! Definitely 10 out of 10!!!! The restaurant just opened a few weeks ago and we'll definitely be back it was so good! The service was great too! If you're in Rancho Bernardoi it's the place to go! We live in San Marcos but it's so worth the drive!!

I love a classic pad Thai! I would go back to eat the papaya salad and not share..it was so refreshing and perfectly spicy at medium level. The service and hospitality from the owners were 10/10! The place is clean and well decorated. Our pictures came out so nice with flowers and plant in the background. Looking forward to becoming their regular!!

I went with one of my girlfriends tonight at about 5:30 PM. We were quickly seated. I ordered a mango lemonade, which came out quite fast and was beautiful. It tasted pretty good too. I asked the server for recommendations on the menu, but she seemed startled by my question, like she was not used to giving recommendations. The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.

With a long list of allergies, I can't order anything "as is," and yet every single meal from Sukho Thai is not only safer for me but deeply flavorful and consistently wonderful. Becky always goes above and beyond, remembering my allergies, checking every ingredient, and making sure that I'm ordering food that works for my body while still bringing all the richness and depth of Thai cuisine. Even on days when I forget to ask for something to be removed, Becky catches it immediately and keeps me safer. The level of awareness, care, and follow-through is genuinely life-saving and endlessly appreciated. Becky is warm, attentive, thoughtful, incredibly detail-oriented, and radiates a kindness that makes every experience feel welcoming and supported. Every interaction with Becky leaves me feeling cared for, respected, and genuinely valued as a customer. The food itself? Absolutely incredible. The chicken fried rice is one of my favorites -- the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Each bite brings together tender, well-seasoned chicken; fluffy rice with that subtle smoky wok aroma; crisp vegetables that still have a slight crunch; and seasoning that hits that sweet spot between savory, aromatic, and comforting. It's one of those dishes that feels simple on the surface but sings with layers of flavor the moment you start eating. The ginger and salmon stir fry is bright, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. The ginger adds just the right zing, the vegetables stay vibrant and fresh, and the salmon comes out tender, flaky, and infused with the sauce in all the best ways. The cashew stir fry is another flavorful amazing dish -- a perfect harmony of crisp vegetables, roasted cashews, savory sauce, and protein that soaks up all that flavor. Every bite is crunchy, warm, and satisfying. Their egg rolls are some of the best around: crispy on the outside, piping hot inside, filled with savory goodness, and perfectly paired with their dipping sauce. The Panang salmon always catches my eye -- beautifully cooked salmon nestled in a rich, creamy, aromatic panang curry. The sauce is silky, fragrant with coconut and spices, slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and the kind of dish you daydream about afterward. Such vivid and beautiful colors as well. My friend raves nonstop about their mixed seafood stir fries -- generous portions, fresh seafood, bold flavors, and consistently delicious. They also make excellent Thai teas, including a vegan version that is so thoughtful and so appreciated. It's creamy, refreshing, and delicious without sacrificing flavor. The service overall is always warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. It feels even better than how people describe family. The chefs clearly know what they're doing -- every dish comes out tasting like it was prepared with intention and pride. The entire team creates an experience that keeps me coming back again and again. And I love their outdoor patio -- shaded, spacious, and comfortable. Finally getting around to exploring the food scene in City Heights, and I'm so glad a Yelp friend…read morerecommended this spot. We left so full and happy. They serve a mix of Thai and Lao dishes, and the menu has a ton to choose from. We started with apps and ordered the Lao‑style beef skewers and the cream cheese wontons -- both were amazing. They offer beer, wine, and a whole lineup of sugar cane drinks. They looked delicious but a little too sweet for me, so I went for a fresh coconut instead, which felt tropical and fun. For mains, we ordered the fried chicken plate and the drunken noodles. The portions were big. The fried chicken was extra crispy and cooked perfectly -- it came with rice, a green‑curry‑style sauce, and a piece of bread. The drunken noodles were fantastic. We ordered them mild, and even then they had a little kick, which I loved. Of course, we ended with mango sticky rice, and it was lovely. I also love that you can pop in just to grab their snack bags of crispy chicken skin or one of their signature sugar cane or Thai boba drinks. Such a great spot, and I'd definitely recommend it. Parking in the strip mall is a little chaotic, so just be prepared.

We looked over the menu and saw the descriptions of mostly Thai food on the menu. Bahn Thai is the comparison since that has been our go to. My partner wanted Tom Yum soup, Drunken noodles (preferably with vegetables) and I ordered as a starter crab rangoon cigar roll and for me a fried pork belly. Here are my musings, the Tom Yum soup was good. The crab rangoon should really be better suited to the crunch of wontons (but nice try). The fried pork belly was a little pricey for the amount received since this only came with sauces and no rice. The Drunken noodles were fine but it should also have an option of vegetables to add instead of tofu, chicken or shrimp. Overall, I might try them again sometime if I am in the area. Nothing still beats my go to place. But as Yelpers go, it's always nice to try new places.
