    Drunken Noodles (4/5) -- take-away at home
    Norbert K.

We wanted take-away Thai food for dinner this evening ... and we wanted delivery. So ... we found Charm Thai Kitchen through DoorDash. Glad we did ... on both counts. Our take-away dinner included two of our favorite Thai dishes: Green Curry with Pork and Brown Rice (4/5 $16.95); Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with Pork (4/5 $16.95). Both dishes had generous amounts of sliced pork. Dinner arrived hot at the early end of our ETA.

This place is amazing and so delicious it's located in a little plaza near rancho bernardo and I genuinely consider it a hidden gem. I've had Pad thai and ze ew all over san diego and the one at this place is actually comparable to one of the most popular places we have here it's so delectable! Service was amazing and they have the most kind waiters and hosts they are truly so kind and helpful. Ambiance is also lovely with a small dining area and they play mukbang s and food prep in the background which is so perfect for someone who likes to watch while they eat! Highly recommend coming here and trying their ze ew!

Another great lunch at Charm Thai. I tried their Thai Green Curry with tofu for the first time and it was yummy! Level 6 was particularly spicy on Friday, but I had to finish it! Their lunch special comes with edamame and a fried veggie roll. I also ordered the fresh tofu spring roll as an appetizer. Their peanut sauce is delicious. Service is also great. They seated us quickly and had altogether the time to sit and eat didn't take long for a Friday.

Very disappointed, been coming here for years and always had great taste and flavor! This was the most bland Thai I have ever had! Something changed idk what but very sad...

    6/17/2024. Free edamame!

The food here is solid, and go here during lunch hours on Monday through Friday for their specials that are budget friendly. Start off with their free edamame and be sure to check-in on Yelp for a free Thai iced tea (normally $4) which is creamy, sweet, and addictive, 5/5 stars! Also, for more layers of flavor and spice, ask for a side of their chili condiments. House made fish sauce, chili and chili powder. 9/07/2024. Choo Chee Salmon ($18.95): perfectly cooked salmon and veggies. Curry was mildly flavored with a hint of spice, 4.5/5 stars. Panang Curry with Chicken ($13.95): creamy sweet & spicy curry with plenty of veggies & chicken, 4/5 stars. 6/17/2024. 3 pcs fresh tofu roll ($4.25) from their Monday - Friday secret lunch menu. Added $3.25 for 3 pcs of chicken pot stickers from their Monday - Friday secret lunch menu. Added $3.25 for 2 pcs of vegetarian fried roll from their Monday - Friday secret lunch menu. Gaprao with chicken at 8/10 spice level ($11.95) from their Monday - Friday lunch special, 5/5 stars! Chicken Pad Thai ($11.95) from their Monday - Friday lunch special, 4/5 stars. The food comes out fast and hot! The servers are just as quick... and hot =)

I ordered off Uber eats for lunch today so my review will be strictly based on the food. I felt a bit under the weather so I ordered myself a tom kha and panang curry. Unfortunately both dishes fell a bit short for me. Tom Kha: Portion size was great. I ordered a 5 in spice level expecting it to be moderately spicy since Thai restaurants usually don't mess with heat but this had an extremely mild heat. The shrimp I got as the protein was overcooked and rubbery. I love onion but this came overwhelmed with thick onions. 6/10 Panang curry: Portion size was great. The consistency was too watery for my liking. Barely any heat in the curry (level 5). The beef was also overcooked and very chewy. The bits of broccoli were my favorite. The rice was cooked perfectly. 6/10 If I were to come again, I'd go to the actual restaurant. I'm betting my proteins became overcooked because I opted for delivery instead of eating in. I'd up the spice level to a 8 (which seems daring for Thai) to get some of the heat I desired. Lastly, I'd opt for a noodle dish instead of a curry. 6/10.

This place is amazing!! Authentic food. Cute ambiance. Staff attentive and helpful. They give you complimentary edamame to enjoy. Food tastes perfect. Spice level on point. Prices very reasonable. The lunch special portions are huge!! Had enough to bring home for dinner.

Give this place a 3 star rating because I didn't really try the food. Just came by because we were craving a mango sticky rice and Thai tea. Staff is friendly. Small restaurant but lots of seating inside and outside. Thai tea was super good did not taste artificial. As for the mango sticky rice we devoured it in a few minutes. Want to come back here next time and try other food items.

I went with one of my girlfriends tonight at about 5:30 PM. We were quickly seated. I ordered a mango lemonade, which came out quite fast and was beautiful. It tasted pretty good too. I asked the server for recommendations on the menu, but she seemed startled by my question, like she was not used to giving recommendations. The two items that she did recommend didn't really sound appealing so I went with Pad See Ew with mock duck. That's one of my go to dishes at a Thai restaurant. I asked not to have any spice level added to my food, but the food came out and was just generally lacking flavor. It was very bland and even though there was a generous portion of vegetables in the dish the mock duck was super mushy. All the places I've ever been to it's sautéed crispy. Also, the the noodles were all stuck together. Like if you put noodles in water to let it boil, but you don't stir them and they just boil like that in a clump. The restaurant was very cute inside. I would be open to trying it again just because I've heard so many good things that I can't believe this is their standard experience.

With a long list of allergies, I can't order anything "as is," and yet every single meal from Sukho Thai is not only safer for me but deeply flavorful and consistently wonderful. Becky deserves the highest praise. Becky always goes above and beyond, remembering my allergies, checking every ingredient, and making sure that I'm ordering food that works for my body while still bringing all the richness and depth of Thai cuisine. Even on days when I forget to ask for something to be removed, Becky catches it immediately and keeps me safer. The level of awareness, care, and follow-through is genuinely life-saving and endlessly appreciated. Becky is warm, attentive, thoughtful, incredibly detail-oriented, and radiates a kindness that makes every experience feel welcoming and supported. Every interaction with Becky leaves me feeling cared for, respected, and genuinely valued as a customer. The food itself? Absolutely incredible. The chicken fried rice is one of my favorites -- the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Each bite brings together tender, well-seasoned chicken; fluffy rice with that subtle smoky wok aroma; crisp vegetables that still have a slight crunch; and seasoning that hits that sweet spot between savory, aromatic, and comforting. It's one of those dishes that feels simple on the surface but sings with layers of flavor the moment you start eating. The ginger and salmon stir fry is bright, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. The ginger adds just the right zing, the vegetables stay vibrant and fresh, and the salmon comes out tender, flaky, and infused with the sauce in all the best ways. The cashew stir fry is another flavorful amazing dish -- a perfect harmony of crisp vegetables, roasted cashews, savory sauce, and protein that soaks up all that flavor. Every bite is crunchy, warm, and satisfying. Their egg rolls are some of the best around: crispy on the outside, piping hot inside, filled with savory goodness, and perfectly paired with their dipping sauce. The Panang salmon always catches my eye -- beautifully cooked salmon nestled in a rich, creamy, aromatic panang curry. The sauce is silky, fragrant with coconut and spices, slightly sweet, slightly spicy, and the kind of dish you daydream about afterward. Such vivid and beautiful colors as well. My friend raves nonstop about their mixed seafood stir fries -- generous portions, fresh seafood, bold flavors, and consistently delicious. They also make excellent Thai teas, including a vegan version that is so thoughtful and so appreciated. It's creamy, refreshing, and delicious without sacrificing flavor. The service overall is always warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. It feels even better than how people describe family. The chefs clearly know what they're doing -- every dish comes out tasting like it was prepared with intention and pride. The entire team creates an experience that keeps me coming back again and again. And I love their outdoor patio -- shaded, spacious, and comfortable. It's a relaxing space that makes the meal even better. Thank you, Becky, and thanks to everyone at Sukho Thai for making every visit safe, delicious, and full of kindness. My partner wanted Tom Yum soup, Drunken noodles (preferably with vegetables) and I ordered as a starter crab rangoon cigar roll and for me a fried pork belly. Here are my musings, the Tom Yum soup was good. The crab rangoon should really be better suited to the crunch of wontons (but nice try). The fried pork belly was a little pricey for the amount received since this only came with sauces and no rice. The Drunken noodles were fine but it should also have an option of vegetables to add instead of tofu, chicken or shrimp. Overall, I might try them again sometime if I am in the area. Nothing still beats my go to place. But as Yelpers go, it's always nice to try new places.
