They recently opened up here in the past year. I came here and met up with my friend for lunch. I was recommended to come here by a couple of friends that said it was really good. They have lunch specials and the food came out nice and hot. The restaurant was bright, clean, and inviting. We sat in the booth next to the window. I had the General Tao's orange chicken and my friend ordered the kung pao chicken. I ordered the chicken wings but it was overkill since I was full from the main entree. I believe the wings were cooked in duck fat and was almost too hot to handle. The server was good checking up on us and always filling our waters. Next time I'll bring the family.

Not sure if this China Fun is related to the China Fun that was in Carmel Mountain for an eternity. I stopped going to that China Fun years ago because it was dirty and clearly cluttered. A few months ago, a friend told me that this China Fun had opened and it was nice and clean. I decided to give it a try. My first visit was for lunch. The lunch specials are good because they come with a portion of rice and chow mein. Unfortunately, there is no eggroll or soup included with the lunch specials. I've had the General Tso's Chicken and it has really good flavor. I have also tried the sweet and sour chicken which I think doesn't have much flavor. Dinner portions are not huge but 2 people can share 1 dish. The fried chicken wontons are really good. Service can be spotty depending on who you get. There is one server who is lacking. He had forgotten our won tons and our entrees were already brought out. We asked him to check on them and he left and then never came back to tell us the status. We flagged down the other server and he told us they were quick to cook and then brought them to us. So, someone forgot but we will never know because our server never said a thing or apologized. Hopefully he will improve with time.

Overall a nice option for Chinese American cuisine. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday. The lunch menu items are $11.99-12.99 and include a side of rice and noodles. The ambiance is casual and modern. We were immediately seated upon arrival and our food came out within minutes of ordering. The food was hot and tasty. Two issues: the peanuts were not crunchy :/ and the portions were small for both dine in and to go, so not ideal if you're really hungry or you'll have to order 2 items. I finished my plate within a few minutes. If they can make the peanuts crunchy and increase their portion size, this could be a regular stop for us. Until then, we may be going to our regular Chinese restaurants in the area that have bigger portions.

Family style Chinese restaurant- we come here for family dinners especially just for the shrimp chow mein- and sweet and sour pork. so tasty. Their lunch menu has the specials/combos so it's great to come here during the day. *authentic chinese cuisine. you won't be disappointed-5stars

    Green bean

The foods that we ordered were pretty good: Egg drop soup--good Salt / pepper chicken wings--very good , tasty Beef chow fun--good Green bean--good Fish filet--good Peking beef--little over done, like jerky Orange tofu--too sweet! The restaurant is very clean and spacious, well lit. The water art in the front entrance is beautiful. Overall, good experience!

I've been to China Fun a couple of times, and each time the food has been absolutely delicious. On my most recent visit, a new waiter named Johan served me. He was super polite, friendly, and attentive. Excellent service all around

This restaurant borders more American-Chinese rather than authentic Chinese (as they offer forks when you sit down instead of chopsticks and they serve orange chicken) but the dishes were still pretty good. We ordered the orange chicken which was very crispy, lettuce chicken wraps which was my favorite, and fish fillet which was tender. Service was also really good and our waiter was super nice. The ambiance is casual yet elevated. Lots of parking is available as it's located in a large plaza.

Cream cheese wontons with lots of crab

The cream cheese wontons were creamy and had lots of crab. They had a great flavor they were just a little chewy on the bottom and I like them crisp. The chicken and string beans was very good and I loved the sauce. The beef with broccoli was very good as well. We had enough food for two meals as well

This is a new Chinese restaurant in Rancho Bernardo. They also have one restaurant in Escondido that we have been to. What I like about this place is their food comes out quickly, fresh and hot. The restaurant in Rancho Bernardo is decorated nicely with a waterfall decor in the front. Their staff is very friendly. Their menu is quite extensive and lots of choices to order. We enjoyed all the foods we ordered but what I especially love about their menu is they have a healthy section option to choose from, which is basically vegetables and a meat/seafood of your choice. This is great if you are trying to eat healthy with non-greasy and low sodium food. I usually order the steamed vegetables with shrimp and it comes with white sauce on the side that you can add and this way you can control how much sauce to use. They give a lot of shrimp! It is like a chop suey dish. Healthy and delicious at the same time.

Green beans also too sweet but ate it after dippjng in tea to wash the sauce

Free sugar? OMG, the Beijing Beef was so sweet, we couldn't eat it, we ate the 2 pieces of broccoli it came with. Had no beef flavor, over fried and just poured syrup on top. It's a big FAT NO for me! Green beans were also very sweet, but we managed to dip it in tea to washout the sugar before we put it in our mouth, so that's also a no. 2 stars for the staff and nice decor. Won't be back!

I was driving through the Rancho Bernardo area and had the desire for some Chinese food. I saw this new place that I hadn't recognized before. So I decided to give them a try. This is my experience at China Fun - Rancho Bernardo. China Fun is a casual dining establishment with a fine-dining experience. They are a popular chain that can be found in neighboring cities and now they're in the heart of Rancho Bernardo. The first thing I noticed about this Chinese restaurant is that they had a very pretty aesthetic & ambience. As you enter their lobby, you'll be greeted with care and seated. In the lobby is a gorgeous waterfall fountain that showcases a beautiful mountain cliffside that is decorated with bonsai trees and mist. The seating area is pretty spacious and the table arrangements are perfect for families and some groups, but lacking any ample "separation" that may be desired by couples on dates. The lighting is nice and the sounds of the waterfalls echo throughout the room. Service was excellent and attentive. Their tables were spotless l, as well as the silverware and plates. The restrooms were super clean. There's a lot of detail that I appreciated, from the bonsai artwork etched in the plating, to the company brand name etched into the silverware. Food was good and came as expected. I ordered a simple almond chicken and it was on-par with many other establishments and was for a fair price for the portion size. My shrimp dumplings came at the end of my meal and that was disappointing, but I also didn't request them to come at the beginning either. The seafood soup was pretty good too and had chunks of shrimp & crab in it and had a nice spice to it, that would kick-in at the end of each bite. The salt n pepper chicken was also legit and I really enjoyed my meals. Overall, I like China Fun and I believe that they will do well at this location. *small note* DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER the doorway that is located under their storefront sign. The door you want to use is located on the other south side of restaurant.

In our case, the chicken and shrimp came out first, then the lo mein, and much later, the green beans. All of the food was just okay. Nothing was truly a show stopper. I did not taste any honey or walnuts in the shrimp, just a lot of mayonnaise. The lo mein was the best dish of the night. We took some leftovers home in the cute packaging. The branding here is definitely a strong suit. As we were sitting on the patio, there was a steady stream of customers ordering & picking up takeout. Service was fine. We sat for quite awhile once we were done, and we had to ask for to-go boxes. Then about ten minutes later, our server came by to run our cards. Verdict: FS is cute and bustling. The noodles were the featured items on the menu, specifically the Rice Noodle Soups and the Crispy Noodle Plates. Those two categories occupied an entire page of the menu. My eyes wandered to the Chow Fun section that had over a dozen varieties which was more than I have seen anywhere else in town. Instead of the prototypical Beef Chow Fun, I selected the Sate version for my order. An oval plate was brought to my table within ten minutes. I noticed there were a lot of onions in the mix, both white and green. Some tomato slices were also included which I found unusual and did nothing to enhance the dish. The pieces of beef were tender and covered with satay sauce. For $15.50, the price was on the lower side, however more rice noodles were needed. I would have preferred using half the number of onions too. The overall execution of the Sate Beef Chow Fun was between three and four stars.

Not considering it in my rating, but not really sure how I feel about it. As for the food, the dumplings--amazing. We got the scallop shrimp pork ones. The skin is on the thicker side but the texture is so bouncy and the filling is incredibly umami and juicy. One of the best dumplings in San Diego. Each plate comes with 14 of them so it's pretty hefty. They don't really do modifications especially given that all the dumplings are pre-filled, so keep that in mind. As for the other items, they're passable but not as excellent as their dumplings. The beef noodle soup is good, but a little light on beef and veggies. The scallion pancake is super crispy, a little more like croissant and pretty mild green onion flavor. The noodles in the zha jiang mian were a little too al dente. The zha jiang mian comes with bean sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, celery, and ground pork in the black bean sauce. Overall great food for a reasonable price. If in doubt get more dumplings rather than their other dishes; that's what they specialize it and are best at.

Been awhile since I had been down here. The last few times in San Diego, I had been craving the…read moresalt and pepper wings from here, but didn't have time to come down to get them. That changed this trip. I went twice in the 4 days we were there! First night I got just an order of salt and pepper wings. $23.50 or so, and they hooked it up with about15 wings (says 13 to an order, but we got a couple more than that, I think). The wings were PERFECT! It was my Sons first time trying them. He instantly fell in love! We ate them outside and went to town. Cant get a better wing, anywhere. Large, crispy, salty, garlicky. Perfect wings! Second time there, I went with the lunch special for the salt and pepper wings. You get 10 wings, and a container of plain fried rice. Total was like $18.50. Once again, wings were bomb! I love scooping the garlic and green onions on top of the wings and biting in. Such a good bite! I love this place! Their other food is very good, too, but come for the salt and pepper wings...they are life altering, and the best wings anywhere.

So good! It's fast,…read morethe portions are large and the food is incredibly tasty! Get the beef chow fun. Nice sauce and noodles are chewy. Get the vegetarian fried rice. Nice use of mushrooms in this and the rice is nicely cooked. Get the sweet and sour fish fillet. Big portions and the fish is breaded but flakes nicely when you eat it. Get the salt and pepper chicken wings. FIRE. My cousin has a disability and I just want to thank the staff here for being so kind, patient and understanding to us as we had our meal. If I could give a hundred stars, I would. This place is a must go to for great Chinese food in San Diego.
