Always great, each time we visit. Today we had the house special soft noodles. Excellent! Chicken, beef, shrimp in pan fried thick noodles. Taste great

As someone who's extremely critical when it comes to Chinese food, this spot genuinely impressed me. The wings are consistently top tier crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor every single time. I always ask for extra toppings over the white rice and it never misses. This visit I tried the sweet & sour pork and house fried rice. Pork was perfectly crisp and flavorful, fried rice was tasty though slightly dry for my preference. Service is always attentive, the restaurant stays clean, and parking is super convenient. Solid spot that's earned a repeat customer.

Very tasty and authentic Chinese food! I had the beef and green beans and the beef were tender, green beans were cooked perfectly and the right flavor. I had the fish and orange sauce and they were also cook well, crispy on the outside and nice white fish. The service was fast and friendly. I want to go back and try their their dishes.

Part 2 of trying all the wings of Mandarin in Chula Vista. The high ratings and the proximity to our stay at The Gaylord brought me here. I had high hopes for their wings. They were indeed tasty, but way too salty. Search continues... I also really didn't like how sugary sweet their pepper beef dish was.

Stopped here for dinner as it was pretty close to the Las Americas Outlet Mall. The kids devoured the complimentary fried wonton wrappers. I liked the Chicken Lettuce Wrap and Mu Shu Pork. Both fun and flavorful ways to work in some veggies. The fried rice was ok - not super flavorful, but got the job done. I thought the vegetable bean curd soup could have used something more substantial - clear broth with some bean curd and baby bok choy. Overall, good sized portions and a satisfying meal.

So delicious, everything was mouth watering. The green beans are the highlight of the meal, the crispness and flavor was spot on. The beef and (not pictured szechuan chicken) were also so good. The fried rice was simple and good and the house noodles were great. This place wowed us with their service, the options and thr quality of food. Will be returning to try more dishes and reload on the green beans!

Cute little place in a strip mall. Clean. Excellent service. Best Salt and Pepper wings in San Diego area so far. And I try them everywhere I go.

We have never been here before and decided to give it a try. My wife has been to several Asian countries, including China, so she's a little picky when it comes to trying Chinese cuisine. The place is small, and could fill up quick during the rush, we came 10 minutes before the lunch special ends and it was wide open seating. I tried the beef and broccoli and it was really tasty. My wife also said her dish, which she would always get during her time in China, tasted exactly like being in China. That's the first I have heard her say this while eating at a Chinese place so far. For me, my dish came with egg drop soup (tasty), steamed rice (perfectly sticky and fluffy, not hard), and the beef/broccoli which came with carrots and it was cooked perfectly. The beef wasn't chewy, it was tender and melted in your mouth, the way it is supposed to be. All in all, the food was delicious. We highly recommend giving this a try.

Summary: Delicious, authentic chinese food I've been looking for good chinese food since I moved to San Diego from the Bay Area more than 15 years ago (circa 2008). I always assumed there was little to none besides Minh Ky (porridge & pan fried shrimp), Tim Ky (wonton egg noodle) & Diamond Palace (Dim Sum) until I went to Tasty Mandarin and ate some of the most delicious food ever. Their mongolian beef and egg drop soup was wonderful. I also plan to get their egg foo young as well as beef chow fun now that I know how good the food is. I wish I went here sooner but I wanted to try their lunch special first before cashing in on their non-special dishes. Service was quick. It's a typical asian restaurant so they prefer if you know what you want and don't ask too many questions (which I sort of did...and she wasn't really that helpful and just said "yea, very good"). Parking: Plaza parking near Planned Parenthood and Stanton Optical Price: $$ Recommendations: Their weekday lunch special

Do they offer any lunch specials for dine-in, and are they available on weekends too?

Please refer to our menu for dine-in lunch special days & hours: https://www.tastymandarin.com/menu

Are you guys open on Christmas? How does one order on Christmas if so?

Yes, we are open on Christmas. You may pre-order or order as usual, online or by phone.

Do they use MSG? If so, can I ask for a dish to be prepared without it?

Some of our dishes may contain MSG, but if you specifically request without MSG, we can make them without MSG.

    Do they do delivery?

We don’t offer delivery service as of July 19, 2021, maybe in the future when we have enough kitchen workers to handle online ordering & delivery service.

All I want to know, is the orange chicken crispy? I have mild autism and am picky about the texture of my food. I never really care about the taste but, I cannot handle soggy…

I haven't tried their orange chicken yet but you can always request to have it crispy. They are very accommodating to requests and very nice people.

This place named itself "sushi bar," but it also says it's an authentic Mexican seafood restaurant?…read moreThat feels like an identity crisis lol. I was given chips, salsa, and an appetizer soup thing in a cup. The chips were fine. I thought the soup was alright. I didn't like the salsa as I found it too watery and lacking in flavor, more like a hot sauce than a salsa. I ordered two hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a salmon skin roll. I thought they were good. I found the salmon skin too crispy and deep fried for my preference, but it was still good. Finally, I realized that not only do I never eat authentic Mexican seafood, I'm not even sure what that entails. So I dug through the menu and saw something called "Don Tono," described as stuffed with seafood, but without much other explanation. I asked the waitress what this Don Tono is exactly, and to my surprise, she wasn't sure either. So, of course I had to order it. It was a big thing of aluminum foil with goodies inside, kinda like a seafood bake. It was good, although I found the flavor to be a undertuned. I would've liked some Cajun seasoning. The best texture and taste was probably the fish itself as it was light and flaky without being mushy, and it absorbed the umami of some of the other seafood. I thought the shrimp and shellfish were just okay, and maybe just a tad overcooked for me. Honestly, I was also not a huge fan of the cheese here; I feel like it doesn't quite fit. I also got some rice and salad with it, which were both fine.
