Great spot with fusion Korean bites with fun beers. The service was quick and easy - order at the counter and grab a table inside or outside. The food and drinks came out fairly quickly and were delicious. Highly recommend their spicy pork bowl!

This is objectively one of the most interesting restaurants in San Diego. Not only is it a little visitor center-looking building at the end of this hilariously long pier, with one of the best views in San Diego, but the name "Imperial Beach Kitchen" is so ironically innocuous compared to the loud K-pop, rows of ramyeon, and fruity sours and rice wines. Not to mention the bulgogi, unagi, poke bowls, edamame, takoyaki, etc. Even calling itself "Asian fusion" feels off. There are lots of "Asian fusion" joints cooked by white people for other white people. This is not that. This is one Korean dude doing whatever he wants, and I love it. The takoyaki is actually good! I mean, it's not Gindaco good, and I like having the scallions and pickled red ginger, but it does have the takoyaki sauce and bonito flakes. Surely, the title of most southwesterly anything would be a waste on a bar as generic as IB Forum. This joint has alcohol and seating, so you could argue it's a bar. And you could argue that some of the food is traditionally "grilled." Yeah, Imperial Beach Kitchen is not as far south, but it is even farther west instead. Therefore, I declare this to be the most southwesterly bar & grill in the continental U.S. also.

First time visiting Imperial Beach, and I found this spot located at the end of the pier what a view! The beach scenery is absolutely beautiful. The food quality was very good, and the garlic butter shrimp bowl was my favorite so flavorful! They also have a variety of Korean ramen, which was perfect for the weather. Eating hot Korean ramen by the beach? 10/10 experience. Definitely recommend and would come back again! Food : 5 stars Vibe : 5 stars Service : 5 stars

This is why I remain loyal to Yelp after close to two decades because Yelp found me this place today and it is such a gem of a find! I cannot believe there is only 12 reviews for this place! Im spending a few days here in Chula Vista and was at the Tijuana River Estuary all day looking at birds but wanted to catch the sunset at Imperial Beach Pier and this cute and amazing restaurant is at the end of the pier. Initially, I wasn't entirely sure I would dine here but as soon as I stepped in, I felt at home and was greeted very nicely by both male workers. I took a look at their menu and knew that the beef bulgogi was their top seller, so I ordered this bowl to-go and also had a draft Salty Crew Blonde Ale to enjoy while I watched the sunset. Order came to $30 with taxes and tip. Beer was great, and loved that also on the backside of the restaurant, there is a mural saying you have reached the most southwest part of the US. Now thats a milestone, sweet! I watched the sunset, my heart filled with happiness as it was so gorgeous and then when my order was ready (you get a pager that rings), I went inside to get my bowl. I sat inside for a little bit longer to finish by beer and bopped along with the kpop playing overhead. I also found another menu too and would love to come back and try one of the soup/ramen dishes. Bathroom requires a code and it was pretty clean! Service here was also very friendly and helpful. I had the bulgogi later and it was delicious and it came with a side of kimichi. Kimchi was very well made and flavorful. I was very happy with this experience and will definitely come back again when in Chula Vista! Such a good find! Definitely come here gor good food, great views and support local!

Lots of options My son was excited to taste the Crabby Burger and it was big and tasty! He loved it 10/10 We got a locomoco bowl and spicy tuna bowl (only $10$) and both were delish!! Never been here before, tried it with my wife . Great service here, staff was friendly. Food was pretty good.

    The restaurant

Nice views that you must see. There was only 2 umbrellas for Ten tables. Hopefully they can afford to buy some more umbrellas. The Ramen was good, but the portion size was smaller than I expected. The beach and view is excellent

So the calamari while cooked ok not rubbery the portion was tiny for the price. I wouldn't get this again here .

A wonderful restaurant in such a gorgeous location in the far end of the pier in imperial beach. It would be nice to just Grab some beer and walk around to feel the beach vibe Or sit down outside in a sunny day. They have plenty of bench and table. The new owner added a lot of Asian fusion options which we love so much. We tried egg spam bowl and eel bowl. There are ppl fishing around so it is not super clean but hey what we are looking for is not a Dining dining but chill vibe. This is a must go if you are in imperial beach

At the end of Imperial Beach Pier is the most quaint Asian fusion seafood restaurant. The fish and chips and calamari were out of this world delicious! The breading was light, crisp and did not overpower the seafood in any way. The Bulgogi beef bowl was recommended by one of their staff as their most popular dish and it did not disappoint! It was my favorite of all the dishes we tried. Eating at the end of the pier was one of the most unique places we have ever eaten in all our years visiting San Diego. Even though the food took a little while to prepare, it was definitely worth the wait!We will definitely be back!

Do yourself a favor and come and check this place out, especially at sunset it's wonderful and the food is amazing. There are a bunch of delicious choices but the fish and chips is great!

This place completely blew it out of the park. Normally when you come to a pier and have food it's average at best. But this place was absolutely amazing. We got the soy salmon and chicken teriyaki bowl. And I saw them preparing it fresh. Something about that chicken teriyaki hit different. Maybe the sauce or the mesh of different flavors. But holy moly. Definitely better than some of the ones I've had at some Japan restaurants here in SD. And the salmon was amazing as well. Speaking on the salmon alone it was better than some of the sushi restaurants here in Chula Visa and SouthBay excluding Little Sakana. Having such high quality Asian food at a pier in imperial beach was definitely not part of the plans today. It also had a great view of the ocean and if you time dinner right you can see the sunset. Absolutely lovely view.

Hmm... I'm honestly a little conflicted about this place…read more I called ahead and ordered the pork belly ramen with extra pork belly, but when I got there I still ended up waiting about 20 minutes. After getting a little impatient, I asked if my order was ready and suddenly it was brought out right away, which felt a bit off. To be fair, they did seem pretty busy, but I had placed my order 25 minutes in advance and only ordered one item, so I was expecting a smoother pickup. Though I didn't eat there, the inside was nice with tons of seating. As for the food, I wasn't blown away. The ramen had potential, but it fell a little flat for me. There wasn't much broth, the flavor was pretty mild, and the pork belly actually tasted more like chicken. It was also grilled, which wasn't really my preference for ramen. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not one that stood out either. I might come back to give their sushi a try and see if that changes my mind.

Even though it was a dim sum style service, they still served the food in sequence (cold, hot, mains, dessert last) which was great. They also have cocktails available to order. Everything that came out tasted great, we particularly loved the Sinuglaw Oysters, Ensaladang Bulaklak, Chicken Arroz Caldo, Taiwanese Chicken, and Banana Coffee Cake. Pork Tocino was great too, although I wish it came with steamed rice (personal preference, lol) and the sawsawan it came with was delicious! Duck Confit Bao was greasy, but it tasted fresh and duck was cooked nicely too. We thought the Wagyu Wonton tasted okay, the portions were differently sized which was odd. Everything else tasted good. Parking is available across the street, about 2-3 mins walk. Valet is also available for $20. We were going to bring and infant and stroller but decided not to, which was great since the ambiance is more "adults only" which is not a bad thing. There were families who brought kids and strollers and it seemed to have worked out great, as Animae accommodated the strollers too. Our server Shanice did a fantastic job and took care of our needs very well. Overall the experience was great, Chef Tara is amazing. They even handed out roses for the moms which was very thoughtful. We will definitely come back here when we are in San Diego.
