Hmm... I'm honestly a little conflicted about this place. I called ahead and ordered the pork belly ramen with extra pork belly, but when I got there I still ended up waiting about 20 minutes. To be fair, they did seem pretty busy, but I had placed my order 25 minutes in advance and only ordered one item, so I was expecting a smoother pickup. Though I didn't eat there, the inside was nice with tons of seating. As for the food, I wasn't blown away. The ramen had potential, but it fell a little flat for me. There wasn't much broth, the flavor was pretty mild, and the pork belly actually tasted more like chicken. It was also grilled, which wasn't really my preference for ramen. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not one that stood out either. I might come back to give their sushi a try and see if that changes my mind. read more

Food was great, but staff needs some serious training in basic service. Service was so slow, we were not checked in on, waters were not refilled, and every single dish was auctioned off which was disrupting as everything came out as it was made at separate times. They also failed at pre bussing and I had to keep asking staff to clear some of the empty dishes and drink glasses from our table. We waited over 25 minutes before our server asked if we were ready to order, then I asked for a drink and then he walked away before taking our food order and didn't come back for over 10 minutes. My server brought the incorrect drink, didn't apologize, and instead seemed annoyed at the correction. He also never smiled and was not very approachable. It's disappointing because the food was beautifully presented and tasted great, but I would prefer to not come back here due to the service. read more

We ended up waiting around 20 minutes just for someone to come take our full food order. No one really checked in on us, so we had to ask another staff member if someone could take our order. Once the food arrived, it was just okay. It didn't really taste fresh, and overall the experience felt a bit frustrating because we constantly had to ask for basic things like napkins and additional items. It didn't feel like we were being checked on the way you usually expect at other restaurants, even when it's not busy. I still left an 18% tip, but honestly I left feeling disappointed. They had some unique rolls on the menu like the Bora Bora which had a coconut tempura crust. It was so delicious and we were happy to have felt adventurous and picked rolls outside of our typical selections. Our waiter was wonderful. He was very attentive and took notice that we really liked spiciness so he brought out this little bowl of sliced chilies, which he called Chiles toreados. It's my second time visiting sushi roll, and I like the food for the price. Drinks are good too, but the service needs a lot of work. Both times I had to keep reminding the waiters, to bring us plates, that drinks were missing. We wanted to order more food and the waiter didnt pass by to check up on us. Only bussers would bring the food. Two times we needed to request our drinks because they had forgotten. They brought only half of our table drinks, when they had already started bringing out pur appetizers and food. Yes they apologized and I understand sometimes you forget. Sushi Roll on Broadway in Chula Vista, saw a TikTok on this place and wanted to try it out. Disappointment to say the least. Most of the sushi rolls have imitation crab instead of the normal shredded prepared crab; I only saw one roll with tuna on it besides their lower grade sashimi on the menu. The presentation looked nice, but the taste wasn't there at all. The Spiciness of anything on the menu that indicates spicy was hot. It tasted much like if they were using real peppers that resulted in sweat coming from your forehead. The Atmosphere was louder than what is expected, they had a UFC fight broadcasting on their large TVs. It does has the Mexican Fusion type environment but the food was disappointing. And for the price, its was expensive for their sushi, most rolls averaged $18 and up. With 3 rolls, a bowl of chicken rice and an order of edamame along with the 18% min tip on their machine, I was already at $100 with 2 waters. The service was just mediocre, I wouldn't recommend this place not go back to it. Other places you can get all you eat sushi for less than what I paid and with better quality. read more

Biggest shock was the pricing for the food (again for area and location) but was pleasantly surprised that the food quality, taste, and ambiance did match the pricing!!!! Now let me start by saying all the rest of the servers have been great. But this guy needs to have a better attitude especially working as a server. Tonight was not the first time he has been our server. The first time we came here, he was an absolute dick. Very pushy, did not give us time to look at the menu and obviously hated his job. The food is consistently delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and well-presented. However, I've had a frustrating experience with the same server three times now when it comes to tipping. I always tip -- I respect and appreciate good service -- but this particular guy tries to push his own tip amount instead of letting me decide what to give. He doesn't say it directly, but he gets very pushy with the payment tablet and makes it super uncomfortable. It honestly feels like he's trying to guilt or pressure you into tipping more than you're comfortable with. It's disappointing because everything else about this place is great. My advice? I want to start off saying that the service here was absolutely wonderful. Our waiter was very friendly and fast, which was exactly what we needed. However, the food was a huge miss, outside of the miso soup. The miso soup was hot and decently portioned but the sushi rolls (shrimp tempura and Philly) were dry and it was clear very low quality ingredients were used. The "spicy mayo" is actually a chipotle sauce that does not go well with sushi at all.
