Quick Take: A solid dining option on Telegraph Canyon Rd that's conveniently located next to a Starbucks in case you're out for a coffee run or if you're charging your electric vehicle. Vibe: Sushi House is a restaurant in a small outdoor plaza. It's often overlooked by the McDonalds and Starbucks in the same plaza, but it's still a fairly solid option when it comes for a dine-in experience. They have a menu on the glass windows that let's you take a peek at your meal options before you even get sat in case there's a wait, which is nice and appreciated. I came in about an hour before closing time on a weekday and the restaurant was still fairly busy. The entire restaurant was clean and spotless. However, there definitely was a strong 'chemical' cleaner scent (which I couldn't quite discern) which was somewhat unpleasant. If the scent was comnig from the cleaning solution used for the tables, perhaps odorless alternatives (e.g., hypochlorous acid) can be considered. It's also quite possible that the odor came from the floor cleaner used since the staff may have already started mopping given how there was about an hour left prior to their closing time. Food & Drinks: I ordered a bento box from their menu, which allowed you to customize your options. For the price, the value that you get from ordering the bento box was mostly worth it. The side salad that comes with it is somewhat sparse, but the flavor is still really good. Getting There: Getting to the plaza can be fairly quick since it's only a block away from the I-5 freeway exit. I'd recommend entering the plaza from Halecrest Dr after getting off the I-5 freeway since the stoplight at Telegraph Canyon Rd is pretty slow relative to the heavy flow of traffic that the road has. Doing this will allow you to get to the restaurant quicker. As for parking, there shouldn't be any issues since there's plenty of parking stalls in the plaza. If you drive an electric vehicle, there's also Tesla superchargers nearby that'll allow you to charge your EV. Service: The staff were great and friendly! They spoke in a nice and gentle manner, and they were patient with my family members that came with me who weren't fluent in English. That was really nice and appreciated. read more

I went in last Wednesday to try this place for the first time with my 10 year old and a baby in a stroller. It was about noon and there were a decent amount of people lunching but there were still a number of tables open. When I went in, I was asked if I wanted to dine in or order takeout. When I said we would like to dine in, I was noticeably glared at for wanting to eat in with my baby in her stroller. I was not offered a high chair (I didn't see any so don't think they have them). But I was glared at and was asked to sit down while the older woman speaking to me made very obvious faces of being unhappy I would bring my stroller inside. I just smiled and said we could do takeout instead and ordered food for my son. This was during a heat wave and was told I also could not wait inside and that she would bring out the food to me, basically telling me to take myself, kids, and stroller outside. At first I was confused, but other people in line behind me stopped me and told me how well I'd handled this woman and how obvious and rude she was to show she was so unhappy to have a stroller and baby in their restaurant. (Other people told me that if they'd been treated how she treated me, they wouldn't handled it MUCH different because it was so bad.) When I went back to pick up my son's food about 15 mins later, I opened the door and she immediately rushed to the door and blocked the door entrance with her body so me and my stroller and son could not walk inside and handed me our food through the door. I've never experienced anything like this anywhere before. However, I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user so depending on the day, I need my wheelchair and I can't imagine how she would've handled someone disabled in a wheelchair if this is already how she handles someone wanting to try their restaurant with a baby in a stroller. I get jalapeño rolls from here every time and they never disappoint. The mayo and crab meat combo go so well and the quality of it is amazing while keeping a low price.
