    Cucumber and seaweed salad
    Graciela A.

This has easily become my favorite place for sushi! They're rice to fish portion in their rolls is awesome, I definitely put a lot of fish. They're seaweed and cucumber salad is so good too, it's a fairly big portion, so definitely share! What brings everything together is their secret "Pinche sauce" , they won't tell me what's in it. But sushi doesn't taste the same without it now!

Went during their happy hour and sat outside with our dog. You can see her peeking out in some photos My partner and I both orderer only off the happy hour menu. I got the philadelphia roll and it was splendid. Just enough serving in the roll to get a good taste of the salmon + the philadelphia cheese. My partner got the crunchy roll. He wasn't a fan of the eel sauce but he ate the whole roll so it must have not been bad. However, it did have imitation crab which wasn't on the menu in the description... Don't know if thats an error on the menu or on the chef. Appetizers I ordered an ate, super yummy as well. The fried Gyoza was so good and crispy. Some of the best I've had in a while. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was in middle school and they have never let down all these years.

Tonight my hubby and I were fortunate to order sushi for dinner. But I was sadly disappointed with four items we ordered would come with eel sauce but when my husband showed up with our dinner there was no eel sauce in the bags. Mind you eel sauce is my favorite part of the sushi I love ordering. I called them back hoping to resolve the issue by some sort of money back but the lady on the phone transferred me to another lady where she assured me she would make it right. She proceeded to ask me my address and she herself would bring the missing items. What can I say the owner herself graciously showed to deliver the eel sauce. Wow thankfully she appreciates her loyal customers. Thank you Ms!

    Jalapeño roll

I came to eat with my family at this place today, and had bad service. First some of the food came late and I ordered a jalapeño roll that they never brought it out and I cancelled it, everyone was already finishing up their food. I told them to just remove it from the check since they never brought it at the end they said that the cooks were busy which I understand but they could have told me that from the start. So then they said we will give it to you for free for the inconvenience and they ended up charging for it when I had already said to cancel it. I did bring it home and I didn't like it at all. Not what I have expected.

I was so tempted to gate keep because it was so good but I won't! This was some of the best sashimi I have had in a LONG time! My server was so kind and my food came out so fast! I went during lunch time and there was still a good amount of places to sit! Was able to watch TV while I ate!

Went here with my sissy and it was okay. Average sushi place. The place itself it's pretty clean and cute flower decorations on tables. Servers are very friendly & helpful. They have happy hour which is pretty cool. A lot of options for happy hour. We ordered the calamari from happy hour. The calamari was not good at all. Really oily. But the sushi rolls were decent. We ordered the rainbow roll, red dragon roll, and the jalapeño roll. All Of them were good but my fav one was the red dragon roll. It's an average place. There's many other options near by. What I really liked was how cozy I felt. Super cute place and most importantly clean. They have happy hour Monday through Thursday 3 pm to 7pm and they have pretty good options I'll attach a copy do the happy hour menu.

Found this place just searching Yelp. Read the reviews and decided to try it with a friend for lunch. Surprised to see that it's at the mall. I didn't even know its there. They have indoor and outdoor sitting. The workers are nice and polite. The protein roll was beautifully presented on a wooden boat. Best part was that they have Uni! Yessss! I'm giving 4 starts because they don't have bathrooms for customers. My friend had to use a bathroom at the mall.

    Shrimp Tempura Roll with Masago

Another perfect experience! Karla & Sonia are so kind and great servers! All of my food came out fresh and super quick, my water was never empty and I asked for extra this and extra that and never got any grief about it. There was a couple sitting in the booth next to me and they seemed very particular and were not the most polite customers I've seen, both Karla and Sonia handled it VERY professionally. I was very impressed. I will always come back here, thank you again!

First let me start with the customer service, it was great, from the door to getting seated to the waiters checking on us & the cooks smiling & the speed & quality of the service was all great. And the prices are very reasonable, they don't open till 5 tho, for dinner basically, weekends can get busy so get there early. The food was very good, I got the Chula Vita Ramen & I'd get it again, very filling & flavorful. The sushi was very fresh & good & filling as well, Abre La Boca Mucho was our fav roll, it can be shared with another person for sure, Viva Chula Vista was a good roll too. Miso soup was ok & no garlic edamame they have lemon butter edamame, if you like lemon & butter flavor you'll like it, it was ok but it lack a bit of flavor for me. My fav item here was the Jalapeño Popper as an appetizer, 8 pieces & man let me tell you, it was mouth watering & on point, it's a must to start with. They have a sushi counter with no counter seating. I ordered the OMG roll and the person helping me at the front said the roll would take about 10 to 15 minutes, so I decided to sit down and order two (2) orders of nigiri while I waited because I was starving. Well, the roll came out in like three (3) minutes (it was just ok) and I hadn't even received the nigiri yet. Then the nigiri arrived, but it wasn't nigiri; it was sashimi. I ordered the fatty salmon and fatty yellowtail. I wish I hadn't. The fish did not taste fresh. Won't be coming here again.

After getting a little impatient, I asked if my order was ready and suddenly it was brought out right away, which felt a bit off. To be fair, they did seem pretty busy, but I had placed my order 25 minutes in advance and only ordered one item, so I was expecting a smoother pickup. Though I didn't eat there, the inside was nice with tons of seating. As for the food, I wasn't blown away. The ramen had potential, but it fell a little flat for me. There wasn't much broth, the flavor was pretty mild, and the pork belly actually tasted more like chicken. It was also grilled, which wasn't really my preference for ramen. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not one that stood out either. I might come back to give their sushi a try and see if that changes my mind.
