To start, I had the crispy rice with spicy tuna. The rice was perfectly crispy and topped with spicy tuna and sauce. The flavors and textures blended well. This place is not it!!, it's very expensive and the sushi is not good. They were promoting a special where if you purchase one roll you get the second one free. So I ended up ordering two rolls then I got another two free (so I thought). And I thought what a great special however when it was time to pay they never disclosed that the only way that you pay the special rate is by only eating what you can in the restaurant . But if you want to take the sushi that is left over you have to pay the regular rate. They were not transparent about their special so I ended up paying about $135 for four rolls, 2 drinks, and an appetizer. I have had way better sushi for half the price and even more. I am definitely not coming back. This place served up some very tasty food, serving us classic Mexican style sushi. The roll variety is amazing and I really recommend the Kani Crunch Roll as a wonderful option to ease into Mexican style sushi flavors. I liked the Dragon Roll, although I think I'd opt for a more unique option if I were to go again. I personally don't love fish flavors too much, especially when they add lemon or ponzu so it surprised me that the dragon roll wasn't as saucy as they normally are, and came with salmon instead of eel. It was still good, but it tasted more American than its counterpart. The miso soup was solid, and its like my basic test of the restaurants flavor. Nothing too spectacular, and I'm glad they skipped the seaweed. Again, very Tijuana Mexico vibes and I love it. In regards to drinks, we did the agua fresca refresher liter pitcher thingy (pricy lowk it was like 14 bucks) and even tho it was expensive, it was sooooo good. I swear that stuff tasted hand made or atleast like real fruit and it just brought me back to like my grandma making us aguas frescas. We got mango and it was very balanced, not too sweet or too watery and it added to the vibes of the experience. They had a variety of condiments offered for free: eel sauce, ponzu, siracha, dragon sauce at our disposal which I really liked. What made me absolutely love this place however, was the interior decor. They nailed the Japanese aesthetics and made sure to create a clean and noteworthy interior. The mood and lighting was amazing, and when I went to the restrooms I noticed all the wood designs as well as the installed bidet in the toilet. It's a restaurant that really went all out and it's so accessible being right in the middle of broadway in Chula Vista. The prices aren't great to be honest and it got pricey with every item we added to the bill, but if you have the cash to spare I definitely recommend trying it out to get a taste of Mexican flavors in sushi, and you'll receive some really top notch service. read more
