Wings

Pho was very good. The broth was light and not greasy. The tendon was melt in your mouth tender. A regular size was very filling and the large looks like a competition contest size. The wings were nice, hot and crispy but the flavor was missing something. Maybe marinating? Msg? They accept credit cards and cash.

By my count, this is the fifth pho place in San Diego I've visited since I moved back here in November. This one is my favorite so far. Naturally, the broth is among my favorites. But also, the soup has a lot more green onion than most other places, which I also like. Plus, they have an extra large special that has a giant beef rib. The texture of the rib meat is exquisite. It might sound weirdly specific, but I appreciate restaurants that have a special extra large portion of whatever their main specialty is. I don't eat quite as much as I used to when I was younger, but I still find myself ordering two entrees or an entree and other stuff quite often. Like, if a default large is not enough, I have to get a large and fresh rolls or a large and a bahn mi when I'm hungry. But sometimes I don't want a bahn mi, I just want more pho. I like that they have boba tea. Finally, I'm not sensitive to service quality, but I guess I have to admit that service at pho places is somewhat hit or miss. I've been to places where I feel like I'm inconveniencing the owner by walking in. Even on this metric, this joint is pretty good. The owner seems to care and the employees are friendly. I like the big water vase things.

Stopped by a pho spot in National City recently. Service was good and the staff were friendly and attentive. The pho itself was above average overall -- good portion size and solid flavor. For my taste, the broth could have been a little hotter temperature-wise, and it leaned slightly on the sweeter side with not as much herbal depth as I usually like in pho. Still enjoyable, just not the most complex broth I've had. I also ordered egg rolls, which tasted good, but they came out after I had already finished my pho, so the timing could have been better. Overall still a good experience with friendly service and decent pho. I'd come back and give it another try!

i usually go to the same pho spot but i decided to try this place since the reviews are so good :0! one of my friends got the pho kha special which came with a beef rib and it kinda seemed overcooked and chewy. the pho broth was pretty good though, but i'd say it's too salty for my taste. we also tried the spicy chicken wings since everyone was raving about it in the reviews :o but i'd say it had an off flavor, maybe from the oil they were frying in? other than that, i liked the spice! the egg rolls were delish though and their nuoc mam was delish :p the service was good and friendly, but a bit busy and we ended up getting up to pay at the front.

Was craving some pho and came across this gem hidden in a small strip mall in national city. Ordered the chicken pho and a salty lemonade. The pho was hands down the tastiest bowl of chicken soup I've had in my life! There were a generous amount of tender chicken slices and perfectly cooked noodles in the bowl as well. First time in my life that I finished an entire bowl. The salty lemonade was also outstanding with bits of pickled salty lemon pieces in it. Yum! Definitely on my to go again list

Ordered to-go lunch shrimp spring rolls and matcha boba with rainbow jelly. I didn't call ahead but they took my to-go order and was ready quickly! That was greatly appreciated because I was limited with time and there were people eating at the restaurant and also could hear more to go orders being placed over the phone. The restaurant has a casual ambiance and I've had their pho here before which is also very good. The peanut sauce was really yummy and they included 3 different chili sauces and that was the best part I love me some spice with my peanut sauce. Yum!

Food is good but QA needs to be better. I ordered deliver through DoorDash- pho with tendon, brisket and ox tail, bo kho, and banh mi thit nguoi. Pho- the broth is a little oily and salty, but the flavor was good. I ended up scraping the oil off the top and adding water to the broth, so all is good. However, the ox tail was super small and sad looking and the tendon was missing.. what a shame. The oxtail was still very yummy, tender and flavorful despite this. Bo kho - very good, I recommend it. Banh mi thit nguoi- I wouldn't suggest getting the banh mi here. First of all, I ordered thit nguoi but they gave me all cha lua. Maybe they think customers don't know the difference? R they ran out? But these two meats are not the same. There wasn't enough do chua and at some points I just got full bites of pate. Overall- I would suggest trying this place is you like a heavy, flavorful pho that may be a bit oily. Don't get the banh mi. My family is from the north so we prefer to cleaner broth, so it really just comes down to a personal preference.

Chicken Breast Pho / Phở Ức Gà

By far one of the best Pho places in town! We were seated immediately, there were two other parties dinning when we first arrived. By the time we left every table was taken and the amount of dinning out orders were insane (we saw the pick ups from lol). This is the first pho place I visit that actually serves chicken breast and not a mixture of chicken meat. The vegan wontons surpassed our expectations and tasted amazing, I normally don't tend to care for them but I will definitely be ordering this again. As for the pho's they both tasted great and fresh, not greasy or flavorless. The customer service we received from the minute we walked in to us leaving was 5 stars. This has become our go to pho place to visit. They have early 2000s music playing which is great music for us. For the amount of food we ordered to what we paid, it's perfectly reasonable. We paid under $60 for two phos, extra chicken breast and broth, two drinks, wontons and some chicken rolls.

This is my second time coming here. It was still as good as I remembered I was impressed by how fresh everything tasted. The broth is rich and flavorful without being heavy, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous--exactly what you want from a great pho spot. The service was incredibly fast, too. I barely had time to sit down before my bowl arrived steaming hot, and the staff was kind, attentive, and efficient the entire time. The atmosphere is cozy warm and welcoming, perfect for a rainy day. But the real star? Their blended Vietnamese coffee. SO good. It's creamy, bold, not overly sweet, and honestly one of the best I've had in San Diego. I'd come back for the coffee alone.

First time here. Friendly staff. We ordered oxtail pho. Delicious. Broth was very flavorful. We arrived just in time when it wasn't quite busy. By the time we finished there were people waiting. Server was attentive and kept our water filled. Inside was small but roomy enough. Definitely will be back when in San Diego again.

I have a soft spot for places with hyper-specific menu with small amount of items that they specialize in. The spring rolls were thicc with two "c" and the soup was so delicious. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone! 11/10 would recommend and come back myself. The staff is very welcoming and nice! The restaurant is small and fills in quick so you gotta get on a waitlist and pay attention hard when called. As an entertainment side story that is in no way regarding service here because guys nailed it well for how busy it was: We did have an "interaction" with another guest who was convinced we took her spot in line and were seated at "technically her table." While in reality they never even answered when were called (a person called them inside and came outside to call as well) and somebody else (a party of two) ended up being sat instead of them. When it was our turn, they didn't even call our party by name, the person running the shift just pointed at us and called us up because he knew we also were waiting for an hour and we had a friendly conversation earlier. But yeah, for some reason girly-pop really felt a need to not only tell us they were skipped "because of us" but go on nagging about it lol

Another great pho spot. Also great value. There is a lot of rib meat in the signature pho. The…read morerolls are also one of the largest I've seen. The restaurant is kind of small so when they are short staffed the wait can take a bit longer. But even with that the service was really good and quick.

Shoutout to the cook, JP, who helped me with some favorite picks. Excellent service! There is plenty of seating for a party of 2, 4, 6, 8. And yes, I do appreciate Ping Yang Thai. I like the menu at Ping Yang! It's interesting that they have four different gyoza options, and…read moregyoza is not a standard Thai appetizer. When I went here, I was in between the tamarind chicken wings and garlic chicken wings, but I went with garlic because I am a garlic fiend. The wings were very crispy and I liked the crispy garlic. The garlic was more of a topping than the flavor of the wing, so that would be ideal if the wings had more garlic flavor to it also. I was conflicted on if I wanted a rice dish or a noodle dish, so I went with class pad thai. The flavor was there, but it was very oily and I feel like random things were added in. The photo (when ordering off the screen) looked like standard pad thai (noodles, scrambled eggs, green onions, peanuts, bean sprouts) but mine had pieces of broccoli and lettuce. I preferred the chicken wings over the pad Thai. My favorite thing was actually the Thai tea with lychee juice! It had big, fresh pieces of lychee. I wanted to order another one. This was a unique beverage and it was super refreshing! The only other time I had a Thai tea/lychee drink was in NYC. They also have Thai green tea, which is another hit, but I didn't try it. The food came out within 10-15 minutes, which was not too bad. The main issue I had was that I asked for a to-go container and bag for my leftovers. My sister had purchased an extra order of garlic wings for her daughter, then also asked for a to-go bag. The worker said, "I already gave her a bag" (referring to me). It was a tiny bag, which likely would not have fit all of our food!
