Pretty good. However, I think I liked the broth at the last two places I went to more. This was just a tad light for me, which resulted in me putting a tad more sriracha and chili sauce lol. Meat had a nice pink color and good thickness and consistency. There was some noodle that clumped together weirdly in one spot. Good amount of basil, but maybe a tad light on the bean sprouts.

The restaurant was small, a little dirty and quiet, as they were quite slow and had no music playing. Decent pho with a plate filled with clean and fresh looking herbs. Not bad. Wouldn't mind returning to try other dishes when we're in the area.

First and last time. The Good: * Spring rolls tasted fresh and crispy * Chili oil is great! * Pho is a little above average, not too sweet It is what it is: * Parking spots are narrow The Bad: * They forgot my order and didn't realize until they served three other parties that ordered after me and saw my table without food * Service is non-existent * They multiple requests I made * No soap in the restroom * Extra bowl for my son came out dirty * No one cares about you The verdict: * Food is decent but I'll never come back here due to lack of service and forgetful staff

I've been to a lot of pho spots, and this place is a hidden gem and needs to be talked about more! You might miss it if you're not trying to map it or underestimate it because of where it's located. It's right next to Carnival in this small little plaza that I've never noticed before. But I saw it had high ratings so finally tried it. The service was great, the staff was friendly, & attentive. We got Rangoons spring rolls and rare beef pho. I usually don't like spring rolls but the sauces they which I think are made in house were really good! Most pho tends to have and overall similar flavor but There was a ton of flavor in this broth. It was really good! Overall the restaurant is well stocked , clean, and well kept. And the prices were fair. This is a new favorite for pho spots!

Tofu banh mi -delish!!

Love their banh mi tofu sandwich. Large pieces of tofu, crisp on outside soft and creamy on inside; fresh crisp vegetables inside (carrots, cucumber, cilantro, pickled daikon, jalapeño), and the bread is perfectly crunchy on the outside soft and fluffy inside. Shop local family! Rest of party had pho and loved it (shrimp, tofu, and chicken pho were each very good).

Chicken Pho and Pork Bahn Mi were delicious. Also enjoyed the Avocado drink and Cafe with condensed milk.

Was craving pho and found this place on yelp. Free private parking in front. I got the large special pho and I always add meat ball. I also got a banh mi and mango smoothie with boba. Fresh spring roll. Great customer service, food came out in a timely manner. The servings were great, big including the banh mi. The smoothie was also yummy and the boba. Would def come here again. They do have bathroom also.

My girlfriend and I were craving pho and looking for a nearby spot close to Imperial Beach, and this place fit the bill! Interior feels like a nice little hole-in-the-wall style. We were seated quickly and the staff was very friendly! I got the combo pho and a banh mi. The pho is very reasonably priced, and the portion size is great. The meats are so soft and not too chewy, and the broth is definitely...unique. Has more a meaty taste to it, but still good overall! Banh mi was very crispy and delicious. That was a good filler to go alongside the pho. Great little spot to visit for a nice warm bowl of pho. :) PROS: - easy parking - pho is well priced and portioned - meat in pho is soft and also well portioned - broth is meaty in flavor; rather unique - very friendly staff CONS: - seating is more limited since interior is smaller

I went in yesterday and order a bowl Of special pho noodle soup and a Thai tea boba drink. The pho soup flavor was super good . it has a lot of beef and noodles . The price is also cheap compared to other pho place around here in Chula Vista. I will definitely come back again with my family

I spontaneously found this spot while looking for a place to have a late breakfast at…read more Definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone. I have a soft spot for places with hyper-specific menu with small amount of items that they specialize in. The spring rolls were thicc with two "c" and the soup was so delicious. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone! 11/10 would recommend and come back myself. The staff is very welcoming and nice! The restaurant is small and fills in quick so you gotta get on a waitlist and pay attention hard when called. As an entertainment side story that is in no way regarding service here because guys nailed it well for how busy it was: We did have an "interaction" with another guest who was convinced we took her spot in line and were seated at "technically her table." While in reality they never even answered when were called (a person called them inside and came outside to call as well) and somebody else (a party of two) ended up being sat instead of them. When it was our turn, they didn't even call our party by name, the person running the shift just pointed at us and called us up because he knew we also were waiting for an hour and we had a friendly conversation earlier. But yeah, for some reason girly-pop really felt a need to not only tell us they were skipped "because of us" but go on nagging about it lol

Another great pho spot. Also great value. There is a lot of rib meat in the signature pho. The…read morerolls are also one of the largest I've seen. The restaurant is kind of small so when they are short staffed the wait can take a bit longer. But even with that the service was really good and quick.

"If you're going to get Vietnamese food, go to the one on Sweetwater" - my Elderly Aunt…read more Now, my elderly aunt (in her 80's) hardly ever voices her opinion. She was raised to be soft-spoken. So, if she insists on going to a specific restaurant for Vietnamese food, then you know that the place is good. Spoiler alert: she was right. As an out-of-towner, nothing makes me happier than trying a family-owned business, especially when it's recommended by someone (bonus points, when it's someone who's culinary POV I respect). I was meeting up with my Godson & his family. When my aunt overheard that we would be going to meet at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant in National City (which will remain unnamed), she insisted that we go to the one on "Sweetwater" (Pho Mai Cali & Grill) instead. FOOD: Eggrolls - 8.5 / 10 Warm, crispy. Just how I like them. I always appreciate when they are served alongside their signature Vietnamese sweet + sour sauce. The fish sauce is especially pronounced & very welcome. #8 (Pho with Rare Steak + Meatball) - 8.9 / 10 Rich, beefy, umami broth. The steak is tender. The meatballs have an interesting spongy texture. Plenty of long, chewy rice noodles. I don't always get pho when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant (I know, I know, I'm weird). So, when I get pho, it is a big compliment & a vote of confidence. I liked it & would gladly come back. Huge shout-out to the entire team. Service was phenomenal. We were a group of 7 waiting on 2 (coming from work). Our female server was beyond gracious with the numerous times she check-in on us. Especially with not saying a word that we went quite a bit over their closing time (I hate doing that, but it was others in my party that arrived later, & I was overly generous with gratuity in cash). Please support family-owned businesses like Pho Mai Cali & Grill. I would happily come back any day of the week.

Every single time I've ordered everything I've had here has been pretty good so I can only imagine having it fresh in house. They package everything well and accordingly. Their portions are big on certain items. Some of the newly repeat items I've been ordering are their egg rolls, spring rolls, and combination special vermicelli noodle bowl. All 3 have been heavy in my rotation and they do a nice job of serving it well! Their egg rolls arrive almost 1 hour later and is still crispy! Their spring rolls are huge!!! So they are definitely worth the price. Their peanut sauce is okay though it could be better. The special combination vermicelli noodle salad bowl is amazing! Huge portions and includes everything like beef, shrimp, egg rolls, pork, chicken, vermicelli noodles, veggies, and nuoc mam fish sauce. Generous portion that could easily feed 2 and they squeeze everything nicely in the container. I also love how big their container for nuoc mam is because I always need extra of that!
