I will never come here again! If I could give zero stars, I would. As I watched my food be prepared, the person preparing my food wasn't wearing any gloves. He blew his nose into a tissue and didn't wash his hands after either. He continued to prepare my food. I then saw him wipe his nose with the inside of his shirt and again, didn't wash his hands. He grabbed veggies from a bowl with his bare hands and placed them on the stove where my food was cooking. I was disgusted and should have cancelled and asked for a refund, but I didn't. I ended up tossing my food. This has got to be a health inspection violation. It's a hole in the wall joint, with no seating available. You walk through the double doors and order at a cart. On this chilly Oct day I was craving Thai food. So I searched for what was closest to me and this place was it. Although they had none of what I had in mind to order. I decided I was still going try it out and order something. That something was Tom Yum soup with chicken and pad-see-ew noodles with beef. I asked for extra broccoli in the noodles too. I came to pick up my food and discovered it's take out only. Which is what I was doing anyway so I thought how perfect. I got home and was surprised at the big portion of noodles. The soup I'm not sure of the size I received because I ordered a small but they charged me for a large. Which I didn't realize till I had already left. So I have no idea if what I got was the small or their large size. ok back to the food, it was absolutely delicious!!!! My plan was to have leftovers for tmrw but that almost didn't happen! The soup was delicious and had so much flavor, the lemongrass and all the veggies except for the tomato lol does Tom Yum usually have tomato? Idk but it was good despite the tomato. This is a cute little shop in a shopping plaza right across Costco. I ordered their Thai tea and a small Tom yum soup with shrimp. It was about 13 bucks so not bad. The soup came with three shrimps so if you want extra just ask. You do have to ask for condiments even when ordering online they won't automatically give it to you. They have two patio tables outside where you can eat with shade. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon even tho yelp said it was closed. So I'd call and verify. read more

A little disappointed, especially given the good reviews. This place is definitely takeout-only, as I didn't see any seating available to enjoy a meal. I ordered Pad Thai, spring rolls, and Tom Kha soup (not Tom Yum). I love Thai food and know the difference between the two soups. I'm not a big fan of Tom Yum since it's too sour for my taste, but I love the rich, coconut milk flavor of Tom Kha. Unfortunately, they got my order wrong and gave me Tom Yum instead, which was a bummer. Kha and Yum don't even sound the same. As for the spring rolls, they forgot my peanut sauce, so I had nothing to dip them in--another letdown. And no chopsticks? What kind of Asian food place doesn't have chopsticks? I asked for utensils, but they only had forks and spoons. I prefer eating noodles with chopsticks, so that was disappointing as well. The Pad Thai noodles were okay, but I've had better. Considering there are better Thai food options in San Diego, I gave this place a generous 3 stars. Overall, the food was average. I debated giving it 2 stars, mainly because they messed up my order and forgot the peanut sauce, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and a chance to correct their mistakes, so I settled on an average rating. If you decide to try this place, I'd recommend double-checking your order before leaving. It's hard to find good Thai food in South San Diego. All the good Thai food is up north in the Hillcrest/North Park area, like Bahn Thai, Taste of Thai, White Elephant, Veganic Thai Cafe, or Plumeria. I'd admit there was a time I would make that 25-30min. drive from home just to enjoy their Thai fried rice. Fast forward---that won't be happening anytime soon after yesterday's offering. Only reason I was in their neighborhood was I had to drop off a few items to a client who just so happened to be in the nail salon across the parking lot--hence my excuse for stopping by Thai Fresh. Along with it being before they closed at 3pm. In hindsight, I should've kept it movin' and dined at my new connect slash supplier of that (crack like) Thai which located in East County and only 15min drive from hizzy. And no I won't mention them here as I gotta tap in on their review as they ain't a hunnit all the time either. But it ain't about them it's about Thai Fresh, so let get me back on track before I eventually disembark off the Thai Fresh train ride that was good while it lasted. So again, I used to dine here at least 5 times a month if not more. So I'm familiar with the quality and turn around. The latter may have added to my gripe. But again my order should be just as important as the feast they were scrambling to get out the door when the customer fire lane parked at their door. I had made it clear on my order what I needed via my "vegan script" I run down when ordering Thai--"make it vegan with no fish sauce, no MSG and no eggs". I went an extra step and requested brown rice as it was available and my preference for the entree I had ordered. Well here's where the disconnect and their addition to my "hell to naw I won't be back droppin' none of my hard earned bread here anytime soon list" I've been compiling for over 5yrs during my vegan travels. My order was to be over rice and I asked for brown. Of course they do that tight ass knot on your to-go orders, when they can close the bag and today that knot was extra tight. After I ripped the bag apart to check my order, I was like "ahhh they on one today" as if they weren't aware I'm an apex BHA vegan brutha who don't do wait til I get home to check my order. I politely when back to the door and explained that I ordered brown rice not white. Expecting they'd remake my order since it was over rice---not today OJay!! I was kindly appeased as if I was gonna get it done right, but to my dismay they nuked the hell out some brown rice and gave it to me as if to say "you can figure it out on how you got the spice out the white rice into the brown we just level 20 nuked for ya!!" Okay, here's were the no shame being the founder and BHA Vegan El Jefe y El President kicked in. I hastily transferred as much of my entre as I could into the brown rice container and not wanting to betray the BHA Vegan oath I ate any white rice that had be infused with spices and sauce that I couldn't transfer. But for the record I didn't eat the white rice just about 25% give or take a couple extra spoonfuls for GP. And yes I went against the BHA Vegan mantra--we eats what's plated and vegan!! Again I'm aware of their 3pm closure, but if you mess it up, fix it!! If my entre wasn't already over rice then I wouldn't be here!! But since they messed my order up and then cast to the side as if I'll be back!! Not happnin' captin'!! Yes, I purposely left off what entre I ordered. If not I would've lost you about 20 lines ago. I order mock duck garlic pepper. I got plenty of garlic. Albeit I ate the majority of that flavor in the white rice consumption previously detailed. The mock duck was mid as phuck--no rhyme skeme intended but it was appropriate as used. Pepper?---see white rice verbiage. Overall the experience left me feeling as if their 3pm break took precedence over a botched order and made it easy for me to decide on where to buy a few platters for an upcoming event I'm tasked to be the "Vegan Guy" on the food committee. Had I made them aware I was eyeing them for a future event prior to my order--something I'd never do as I want normal treatment when I pay normal prices--I may have gotten that garlic pepper done right? Who knows? But wut a brutha does know--me trekking south on the 805 then east on E H Street won't be on my to do list anytime in the near or distant future. I've had my last meal there and appreciate the past good ones. But my gas and dining coins will better serve me staying with the establiments that will go the extra 5-10 minutes to correct their mistake. So if you ever east on E H Street and it ain't close to 3pm they may be your spot? For me they in the rear view. I digress. read more

This place is fantastic! I've had it a few years ago, so when we ordered takeout I was hoping the quality was the same. I honestly think it was better than I remembered. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken and made it spicy along with beef fried rice. Everything was exactly how I expect both dishes to taste and you can tell the quality of ingredients is top notch. I have to note also my delivery driver got lost, so my food wasn't fresh out of the store and it was still delicious. We'll definitely be placing more orders in the future. read more

I have no complaints about the food that comes out of this kitchen (except the fresh rolls are a bit on the bland side). The portions are good and everything tastes delicious. My only issue is the prices are VERY HIGH now. I get that inflation is raising prices across the board but you would think that a hole in the wall that has no dine-in service would have lower operational costs and perhaps those lower costs would be passed onto the patrons? Prices are what I would expect at Gaslamp District. But the dining experience is thatof an alley food truck at best. (A very tasty food truck) Would I eat here again? Probably. Nice little spot for a quick bite. I really like the idea behind this being a "brick & mortar" that only does takeout. Very simple and easy for a quick, on-the-go meal. With that said, they do have some tables and seating outside. Very small space and small tables so don't bring the family. The food was delicious. I ordered fresh rolls with tofu, chicken panang curry, and Thai iced tea with boba. The fresh rolls are monstrous! Absolute massive! Two are plenty and packed such great flavor. They are served with peanut sauce and a type of plum sauce I believe... it's like sweet n sour but has a little bite to it. Really tasty. The chicken panang curry was wonderful. Really nice and simple with carrots and broccoli. She did not ask if I wanted it spicy but it had a little Thai chili bite to it. Not much but enough to compliment the flavors well. Nice, rich flavor of curry and coconut milk that really hit my tastebuds well. And lastly, the Thai tea... very good and large sized boba. Perfect blend of tea with milk and sweetness. Best Thai food in the South Bay hands down! A great little mom & pop hole in the wall type shop! Literally hole in the wall right next to Rubios. Been coming here for years & the food is always fresh, good & very affordable. Customer service is ok, they seem a bit series & the food can take a bit but that's why you order ahead of time & it's always fresh & good. Probably the best fried rice I've ever had. My kids love their chicken with fried rice, they won't even share it with me those ungrateful kids :( As for me I love their Pad Thai chicken level 5 on spice, it's on point! Dude it's so good I lick the box clean like a dog, no shame or lie, my wife thinks I'm gross but I don't care it's that good. I also get the Drunken Noodles & also very good with a great spice to it. I have been trying to support local businesses especially during these times. However I was very disappointed in the quality of food I received today. This was the 1st time at this location. I will admit The customer service is definitely a 5, very friendly And accommodating that is why I am giving them a 2... versus a 1... They are very cleanly in terms of wearing gloves and masks And requiring their customers to wear masks as well and stay outside of the door. I ordered the tofu yellow curry with broccoli instead of potatoes and red rice. I only received white rice even though I paid extra. And I live too far to go back and exchange. I was not asked the spiciness for the curry I am guessing they only had one level, but the flavour while it wasn't bad was not what I am used to from other Thai restaurants. The tofu was plan no flavor, the broccoli was overcooked and the onions and carrots were cooked fine. The one time soup had flavour, the wontons were not edible As shown in the pictures and the chicken (i believe!?) Was jerky dry with no flavor as shown in the pictures. Was in the area and decided to try this place, unfortunately I will not be back and I hope I do not have food poisoning as this review is written right after getting the food. For the price I pay, I expect to get what I ordered. Very often here they mess up my order and only replaced it once. They're trying to pass off "pumpkin" as zucchini.
