Regular Kimbap, Spam Kimbap, and Bulgolgi Kimbap Tteokguk - Ricecake Soup (No Spicy) Jap Chae (No Spicy / Spicy) Banchan to boot!

If you want authentic, homemade Korean comfort food, Mama's Bowl is great! They reside inside a poke restaurant, so it's a "virtual" restaurant. We've ordered from DoorDash twice now and both times the food was delicious! The kimbaps are humongous and packed with veggies/meat. Japchae is so flavorful and loaded with ingredients. Also highly recommend dduk guk (rice cake soup). Don't expect fancy, but DO expect consistently good food made with love.

Go into the Poke store and scan QR for menu and order. I like that there's an option for some std Korean dishes and bento for lunch close to my work. I order the beef noodle soup. It was fine esp on a winter day. Food was average but the location and convenience added to it. service was good. Inside ambiance is like a quick eats place and has room to eat a quick lunch

I stumbled upon Mama's Bowl while searching for another restaurant, and it turned out to be a true hidden gem. Since Korean food options are scarce in the Poway area, I visited with equal parts curiosity and hope. Tucked away in an industrial corner near Costco in Poway, this spot operates alongside a poke restaurant -- separate, yet sharing the same space. Because the menu is impressively long and diverse, I highly recommend checking it online before visiting. Despite the extensive menu, the restaurant itself is simple, casual, clean, and surprisingly spacious. It reminded me a lot of a Korean food court -- relaxed, practical, and full of variety. The menu reflects that same food-court spirit, offering many different dishes as if several vendors were gathered under one roof. We wanted to try a range of items, so we ordered kimbap, tteok-mandu-guk (rice cake dumpling soup), spicy shrimp sauté, bulgogi, and tonkatsu. All dishes were served in to-go style containers, which honestly matched the casual atmosphere quite well. The tteok-mandu-guk was especially comforting and flavorful. The spicy shrimp dish had a generous portion, and the sauce carried a pleasant level of heat without being overwhelming. The bulgogi was tender with well-balanced seasoning. The kimbap tasted good, though it felt slightly cold, and the pieces were quite large -- a bit difficult to eat comfortably. The tonkatsu was ordered for my son, and he enjoyed both the flavor and the generous portion. Overall, the food had a warm, homemade feel that I really appreciated. With such a large menu, this is definitely a place worth revisiting multiple times just to explore more dishes. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, adding an extra layer of warmth to the experience. Flavor, portion size, and service were all strong, and the prices are consistent with typical San Diego dining -- nothing surprising there. The location is convenient enough that whenever I'm craving Korean comfort food in Poway, this will be an easy choice. I'm already thinking about what to try next. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Korean food -- especially if you love discovering low-key neighborhood gems.

The food here is excellent! I'm glad there's good Korean food that's closer to me and I don't have to drive all the way to Convoy. Feels like there's not a lot of Korean choices around Poway so I'm really happy. Just fyi, they are in the same place as the poke place but you can still order in person instead of just online. I ordered the beef tofu stew and the vegetable pancake to go. Both were really delicious. The tofu stew had lots of tofu, meat, onions, and veggies and the broth was good. The pancake had lots of veggies and was really yummy. Highly recommended. Located near lots of offices so it seems like their bowls would be really good for take out. Will definitely be trying some of their other stuff in the future.

I was not impressed with their Kimbap. But everything else we ordered was good. Price is pretty reasonable.

Joyee is a legit, homey Chinese restaurant that delivers every single time. The service is friendly, no fuss, and very efficient, whether it's busy or slow. What really stands out is the food. It is always fresh, piping hot, and insanely delicious every time we visit. No matter when we come, the quality and consistency never change. Everything we've ordered has been amazing -- from the boiled fish and boiled beef to the walnut shrimp, salt and pepper fish, Mongolian beef, and the green beans with garlic, which is my absolute favorite. Every dish hits the spot. We've also ordered takeout many times for family gatherings, and the food always travels well and is just as good at home. We are always left super happy and super stuffed after every visit. If you're looking for a solid Chinese food spot in Poway, I cannot recommend Joyee enough. This is hands down my number one Chinese restaurant in Poway,

One of my favorite things about this place is how easy it is. You order on the kiosk, grab a seat, and your food usually comes out within like 10-15 minutes. The inside has a lot of seating and even games like Jenga which makes it feel like a fun spot to hang out for lunch. I didn't interact much with service since I used the kiosk, but the worker upfront was really friendly and even brought my takeout to my table. This time I tried the Dynamite Crawfish Bowl and the Dynamite Fries. The bowl comes with crawfish, rice, dynamite sauce, eel sauce, seaweed, sesame seeds, and pickled radish on top. The fries normally come with sweet potato fries but I swapped mine for regular fries because I just wasn't feeling sweet potato that day. The fries were honestly kind of underwhelming. It was basically fries with dynamite sauce and only a few pieces of garlic confit, which was the part I was most excited for. They weren't bad, just really underwhelming. I honestly think the sweet potato fries probably would've worked better with the flavors. The crawfish bowl though was really good. The crawfish had this slight smoky flavor to it like it was lightly torched and they give you a lot in each bite. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly and the pickled radish on top helped cut through all the richness from the sauces. Everything worked really well together flavor wise. My only complaint is that halfway through the bowl the flavors started blending together a little too much and it gets boring, but overall it was still super satisfying and filling. Definitely still one of my favorite quick lunch spots in Carmel Mountain and somewhere I'd bring friends because the menu has so many good options. Their dessert menu also sounds insane so I already know I'll be back.
