It's been a long time. The Food is so good. Got there at 4:00 PM on Tuesday to enjoy happy hour with our son and granddaughter. Started with 8 orders of a dozen oysters on the half shell, chicken wings, sweet potato fries and then calamari with fries. Then we added the Seafood Bucket. We had some leftovers. Need to go more often.

Dungeness crab special
Suzanna L.

I'm a big fan of their approximately semi-annual Dungeness crab deals. The crab tasted fresh and was surprisingly larger than expected for a flat rate of $27 for their Mardi Gras special. Suggest signing up for their email list to stay on top of the deals.

You know a restaurant is good when you wanna go back and it hasn't even been a week since you last went. :) Crab Hut's always a solid staple for me. We went on Sunday, 6:30PM and while Boiling Crab had an insane 2 hour wait, Crab Hut's seating was upon arrival. We ordered 2lbs Shrimp, 1 lb Clam, 1lb Mussels - Potatoes and Half sausage, with an extra tray of Cajun fries. Honestly it was really good. Medium hit the spot perfectly and the sauce was super good and flavorful. Our waitress Trisha was fantastic and the other staff passing by were awesome as well. Asked for salt, pepper, and lemons and one of the waiters delivered in less than a minute (talk about peak customer service right?) Restaurant was full but not packed to the rim so it was nice because it wasn't too overwhelming. I do think the parking and location is why Crab Hut has less of a crowd, but really the food is just as good. Seafood as fresh and honestly it's probably more of a goto spot for me than Boiling Crab. Both good in their own ways but one with less of a wait time. Will I be back? No doubt about it. Overall rating: Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Menu: 10/10 Restaurant Vibes: 10/10 Price to Overall Dining (POD): 10/10

Me waiting for our seafood boil

If you're craving a seriously good seafood boil, this place absolutely delivers. The crab boils are packed with flavor--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and messy in the best way possible. Everything comes out hot, fresh, and coated in their signature sauces that keep you going back for more. The crab is always tender and easy to crack, the shrimp are plump, and the potatoes and corn soak up all the seasoning. It's one of those meals where you just stop caring about being neat and enjoy every bite. Service is usually friendly and the vibe is casual, perfect for digging in and getting your hands dirty. Definitely a go-to spot when you want something indulgent and satisfying. I'll 100% be coming back. Legit my fave seafood joint!!

Garlic Noodles

I usually order the Full House 1/2 Medium sauce, which is my favorite! It has the perfect balance of buttery, garlicky flavor with just enough spice. It's rich, flavorful, and SOO FREAKING GOOD!! Their sauce is so good, I don't even need the seafood; just give me rice or noodles haha. I also like their garlic noodles. They're savory and pair perfectly with the seafood. The restaurant is lively and a fun place to go with friends or family when you want to dig in and get a little messy. This place is worth checking out, especially if you like bold flavors and a classic seafood boil experience.

Thank you Jen for the amazing service, as always. The decor is on theme, and I especially love that they decorate for the holidays. The food here is consistently great, and we leave full and happy every time. We love it here, and so grateful to live less than 10 minutes away. See you again soon!

Amazing food with a very friendly atmosphere! Mai our waitress was pleasant and humorous! Loved the lightheartedness. Crab is pricey but in line with market prices. Totally recommend!! I've been coming to the Crab Hut for many years, It all started at the down town location which I found out today is now closed.

$5 for one bowl of rice is insanity and to do mandatory 18% tip is crazy. Be prepared to be robbed.

Ask the Community - Crab Hut

Do they take reservations?

Yes, but only 7+ and 3 hours before.

Are the hut wings battered? I can't eat flour or gluten. Or are they just naked and deep fried?

I believe they're naked and deep fried. But it doesn't hurt to ask a server to double check!

Do you have a lunch special like the Kearny Mesa location?

Happy Hour specials. I know their website is confusing.

The energy she brings completely changes the vibe of the whole place. There are a lot of bartenders out there, but Rayne is on another level. Not only were the drinks absolutely top-tier, but Rayne also took the time to ask what we liked and made thoughtful recommendations that were spot on. You can tell she truly understands their craft and care about giving guests a memorable experience. What really stood out was Rayne's ability to read the room. Whether it was keeping the vibe upbeat and fun or taking a moment to have a meaningful conversation, Rayne knew exactly how to make everyone feel comfortable and valued. He suggested the shrimp and grits, said it was their most popular item and it's one of my absolute favorite things for breakfast. The grits were delicious, if this review was just for the grits themselves, it would be five star. But the way the shrimp was cooked and then the corn on top was completely disappointing. The shrimp were steamed or something and barely had any flavor to them. Usually shrimp and grits they've been grilled or sautéed in addition to being seasoned. The corn I could tell was cut off a fresh cob because there was a lot of cornsilk mixed in. Did they leave that there just so I would know it came from the cob and wasn't frozen? Was kind of gross. Also, the corn was undercooked and still hard. The poached eggs were made nicely. My man ordered the protein pancakes, which came out looking beautiful, but they were dry and thick. I've made protein pancakes at home that were far better from a Kodiak mix out of a box. Both of us thought the coffee was great, I thoroughly enjoyed the Mexican mocha, Its kind of sad when the best thing on the table is coffee when you go out for breakfast and spend about $60 on the meal after tax and tip.

My friend and I made a final brewery stop at Duck Foot Brewing before heading home. If you knew anything about me, you knew my love for beer had no boundaries and wherever I may be I was always searching for any possible breweries to sneak into and try. Would I quack with glee after I set foot in this brewery or duck out the back never to return!? QUICK BIO Founded in 2015 by Matt Delvecchio and Brett Goldstock, their beers were gluten-reduced due to Matt's celiac disease; frankly, he wanted to be able to drink beer and found a way to do it without harming himself! "Duck Foot" was a snowboarding term if you rode with your toes angled away from each other, then you could switch to your right or left foot while going down the slopes. It was a deft way of maneuvering, but also made you look kinda silly - which summed up the staff pretty well. All of this zaniness contributed to the funny beer names and quirky packaging artwork.
