Stopped by Fish District after getting my hair done and ordered the salmon bowl to go. 10/10! Since it was my first time there, Andres was super patient with me and took the time to explain the different options and give me recommendations, which I really appreciated. The salmon was cooked perfectly with great flavor, and the kale was fresh and seasoned really well. I have visited the FISH DISTRICT several times over the past couple of months. I decided it was time to write a review. Overall, I have really enjoyed everything I have tried: Tacos Baja - good but nothing to rave about. Tacos Coastal - the mango/onion salsa is to die for and these tacos are excellent. Tacos Traditional - good but nothing new or exciting. Ono Burger - Excellent! I love this burger. Fish & Chips - Excellent! Love the batter, caper sauce is very good and I love being able to order 2 or 3 pieces of fish. The chips are nothing special and on a few occasions have been cold and really greasy. Shrimp Ceviche - Is EXCELLENT and a personal favorite. The portion size is pretty small so if you're hungry you might want to grab two orders. Calamari Fritti - EXCELLENT and another favorite of mine. Citrus Kale salad is a great side and the dressing is really good. Batter Fries - Really good if they're fresh and hot. Cole Slaw - It has really good flavor but unfortunately it's room temperature or even warm almost every time I have ordered it. Restaurant is very clean and the service is really great. They have a Fish of the Day which I have yet to order but I definitely want to give it a try. Other diners have ordered it my presence and it looks really good. I stopped by on a random Thursday and was seriously impressed. The place wasn't too busy, but everything was spotless. My order came out in about five minutes, neatly packed and ready to go. The battered fish was the real standout--crispy on the outside, perfectly fried, and tender, flaky cod on the inside. Exactly what you hope for when you're craving fish and chips. I was excited to try their catch of the day plate. Plates come with a seafood option and two sides. I ordered the salmon catch of the day along with rice and asparagus. The presentation was on point. Salmon was juicy, and flavorful with nice char flavor from the grill without being overwhelming. The asparagus was executed beautifully, well seasoned and not overcooked. For $17.50 the portion size was a touch small for the price but it did satisfy my craving. Drinks and condiments are self-serve and they bring the food out to you. I enjoyed the combo box ($17.50) which came with one piece of deep fried cod, three deep fried shrimp, fries, and three different sauces on the side (caper sauce, house-made sriracha, and cocktail sauce). Everything was crispy and delicious. I would have liked one more piece of cod, and would have given up two shrimps for that! The catch of the day plate is a great deal ($18.50). It's served with two sides and grilled ciabatta bread. We chose the salmon with rice and asparagus. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was quite juicy. One of my friends got the blackened ahi bowl ($15) which comes with blackened seared ahi tuna, rice, lettuce-cabbage mix, and tomato. It was pretty tasty but a smaller portion. Another friend got the poké bowl ($15.50) with salmon, nori, seaweed salad, cucumber, ginger, and sesame seeds. She liked it, but also felt it was a small portion. In terms of ordering, you can order at the counter or order through your phone. My friends ordered through their phone, while we ordered at the counter. They actually got their food first. The Fish District is a great spot for fresh, fast-seafood. The menu has a variety of tacos, plates, and poke. The poke is pretty consistent and always fresh! The portions are solid, and the sauces are great. For tacos, the grilled fish or shrimp tacos are always a safe (and flavorful) pick. If you're in the mood for something more filling, go for a grilled plate with salmon or ahi and pair it with a couple of sides. The poke bowls are a great and customizable. Still can't decide?! Try the fish and chips,, a solid choice too. They have salads and wraps too, but I haven't tried these, yet. Overall, fresh seafood, generous portions, and a convenient location, just know it can get busy, and seating is a bit limited (inside & outside). I placed an online order for pickup for 2 orders of fish and chips. I picked it up about 15 min after placing my order and it was ready to go when I arrived! When I got home, the fries and fried fish were still crispy and thankfully didn't get soggy. I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of my food before I started inhaling it. Next time! I substituted the capers with tartar sauce and they gave me two of the tartar sauces! I picked up some vinegar and some ketchup and pour it over my fish. The fries were well seasoned and they gave me a lot! The fish was crispy and flaky and made a nice crunch sound as I took a bite. Was it the best I've ever had? No but it was well worth it for $15! Props to Fish District for serving a quite delicious NE clam chowder. Clam, cream, minimal veg and peppery notes all blended well into a delightful concoction that I happily topped with oyster crackers. I also liked the popcorn shrimp with coleslaw, which is a decent, soft textured, vinegar forward version. The terayaki chicken bowl was a nice respite from seafood, and I appreciated being able to customize the sides instead of being stuck with rice. Would return for the chowder! read more

Got the clam chowder and it's not too bad. Great in a punch but missing a little something. Overall the chowder did have tons clams so I can't complain there! The service was quick and friendly. The shells are light and crisp, they go well with the poke. The fish and chips are a banger as well. Sometimes the fish are not so fresh, but then again, it's a hit or a miss. Poke bowls are okay here, however poke tacos are much more satisfying in my opinion. It comes with two choices of sauce that you can drizzle over the fish, which are complete bangers. Our experience was pretty good. Found this place on our way home from San Diego. Great customer service and the food was good. My husband ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed his food but said there was nothing major to rave about. I had the poke bowl and it was also good. I got it with the original sauce and I feel like the sauce was decent. Everything in my bowl was fresh. It's tucked away in the corner between the At Home plaza and the plaza with Marshalls. Parking is easily accessible even on the weekend. The restaurant wasn't too busy during the early afternoon and food was served quickly! We ordered the 3 piece fish & chips and the combo that included shrimp & fish. The way the fried seafood is battered is so delicious! The fish & shrimp were crispy, not oily, tender and juicy! I find it difficult to get good fried shrimp these days and fish district's shrimp was not only big but also deveined and not overcooked! The fries are also yummy! Medium thickness and still crispy. The fish & chips came with tartar sauce and the combo came with cocktail sauce (amazing flavor), sriracha mayo (I think), & tartar sauce. They're generous with the sauce & fries portions! Ok ok I actually wanted to give this place 6 stars! I have been coming here for almost 4 years now after moving from the back from the Bay Area. Hilda and Fernando has been serving us ever since, if I'm not mistaken. I love everything here! The clam chowder, fish and chips and really everything else seems to be such high quality food and high quality and kind service. This place feels like I'm eating at home. Like a family vibe. Whether you it inside or out in their patio, the experience is the same. Sometimes we have our puppy with us. It's so convenient as well since my children loves food from their neighbor businesses. I also wanted to acknowledge their new team member Paige who has made us feel even made our experience that great. Please please experience this place for your selves. The concept is straightforward, which is a great concept because seafood restaurant experiences can get overwhelming quickly. My husband and I ordered the salmon burger and the six piece shrimp and fries basket. Along with two pineapple ciders. Listen! When that food came out and we took the first bite. We didn't even speak until we were like 3 or 4 bites in because the food was really, really good... lol We were impressed with the presentation of the food and, obviously, the taste because the seafood wasn't overcooked, and it had a freshness too. We didn't have much interaction with staff because there was only one team member working. But the restaurant was really clean and I love the openness of the establishment. I was tired and hungry. So tired. So hungry. You see, I had just spent some time at the most crazy Costco, where I couldn't even get a sample! People kept jumping in front of me line animals! So I couldn't even dull my hunger as I became more and more despondent... it was time to go actually eat. I made my way over to Habit Grill because it's well.. a habit. I've been there before and they make a decent Ahi sandwich. Making my way I peeped this menu and decided I'd try something new! I got the Ahi bowl. It was OK. Also a passable value for the price, especially these days. At about $15 or so plus tip (it's counter service so I only tipped a couple bucks... I'm sick of this tipping culture for counter service stuff... no 20% from me again!) I got a bowl of somewhat flavorless rice, with veggies and a fair amount of sheared tuna. It came with a wasabi cream and I should have noted that because while I like spicy, I hate wasabi flavor. All in all the blacked seared ahi was made the way I liked it. It didn't taste fishy and didn't have fatty piece. I ate about 75% of my bowl and was full, allowing me to share the rest with my hungry loved one. If you have a large appetite then it might just be enough to make you feel like you had a good meal. The seating is nice and the restaurant looks and smells clean. They we've beer and wine but that would have to wait for another time. In all a solid experience. PS the California fish place down the road was pointed out to me after so I might need to do a head to head review! read more

What happened to this place? Came here on a Thursday for dinner. Food was awful. Hot inside the restaurant too. Odd for a seafood establishment. And the homeless in this shopping lot are inescapable. I cannot eat here without being harassed for money. The last time I was here a homeless person cussed out the cashier in front of my 4 year old. Security couldn't find the guy after the incident.
