This place has a super extensive menu! There were so many delicious sounding food items that I wanted to try but I ended up getting only drinks. I tried the: Mango graham- This one blew me away! Although it was sweeter than I would have wanted it to be, it was still delicious nonetheless and the sugar level didn't take away from the overall experience of trying this drink. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would! I enjoyed the food more than the drinks - we got one of the specialty fries (pork with shrimp) to share, and the flavors were definitely there. A little sweet, salty, and crunchy all at once! The portions were pretty generous too, and we were able to enjoy it sitting comfortably in a booth during a not so busy hour. The menu selection is vast, with lots of appetizers and drinks to choose from (note that they've discontinued the split drink option due to customer complaints about long wait times). Prices range from about $11-12 an appetizer and $6 a drink. I didn't really enjoy the watermelon peach smoothie as much as the fries because it tasted more artificial than I would like, especially the peach. I'm not sure if it was the syrup they used or maybe the balance of fruits in it just wasn't there. Note that there's no dairy in any of the fruit smoothies. Service was fine - everything came out relatively quickly and we were able to get our questions answered. Came across this place after a long day at the bike park. I saw that they had food too, so it was a perfect stop for snacks and drinks. While looking at their menu, I got really excited for their unique drinks, but come to find out, they didn't have the drink I wanted (pumpkin spice). Of course it was off season, so I should've known. The cashier recommended another drink (English Earl milk tea), but it was not great. My husband ordered a fruit tea and son ordered an Oreo shake. I was running a few errands today aka Boba Friday and so I was going to pick up some sandwiches at Cam Huong and decided to finally try out Joy4Tea since we last walked by there the last time we were here. In short, don't go if there's a line 1-2 people deep if you're in a rush. The drink was ok, the boba a little undercooked but sweet. I wouldn't rush back but it's ok. L O C A T I O N Joy4Tea is located in a large plaza that has a Fremont Bank, KFC, Drive thru Starbucks, Cam Huong, etc. There's a large private parking lot as well and not hard to find parking these days. C O V I D P R O T O C O L They have touchless payments, the employees are masked. The customers can be a little less...considerate. There are 2 purple marks on the floor for 6 ft distance. There's barely room to fit more than that and maybe 1-2 people waiting inside. There's two tables outside for folks to "dine." I was able to pay with Apple Pay which is always a plus. M E N U They have a variety of drinks from milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothies. I wish they had a standard black tea without toffee or any flair. All drinks come with 1 topping. I would say for your standard black or jasmine milk tea, this might be about $0.75 more than typical, but for the other drinks maybe $0.25-0.50 more. I got the J4T Milk Tea just to see their "black" tea which is an assam tea plus toffee and cocoa. It has an interesting taste, but like I said, wish it were just a black tea. You can't get 0% sweetness and can only get it as low as 50%. The boba itself has a nice sweetness but the middle was hard. Bummer. The one thing that wasn't great was the lid. I didn't have this drink right away and needed to drive it back home....well I transported two drinks and the cups do not fit well in the carrying holder and the lid has holes so it was spilling in my car. I had to hold both my drinks as I was driving with napkins just to make sure it didn't completely spill in the bag. I wish they just sealed the cups or at least had lids which don't have openings that could leak. S E R V I C E Poor girl working there. She had to take both orders and make drinks which caused a backlog and a long wait time. I would say from waiting in line to getting the drinks, I basically was there for almost 20+ minutes. There was 2 people in front of me waiting to order when I got there. But she was in the middle of making drinks. Basically she takes all the orders of people in line. Then when that's done, she makes all the drinks that were ordered and then the line backs up again until she finishes making a few drinks. I decided to come back because we wanted to get their fries again. I really enjoyed the Korean beef kimchi fries but the popcorn chicken fries were underwhelming. I actually wanted to get just popcorn chicken, but I'm glad I didn't because the popcorn chicken here isn't that good. However, I did have a better experience with my drink this time. My boyfriend and I shared the guava lychee fruit tea with boba. The drink was nice and refreshing and the boba had a better texture this time. The boba had somewhat of a rubbery texture the last time I went, so I think the way they cook it is inconsistent. Came here because I was craving a tea and wanted to try something new. They have a pretty big drink selection and snack selection. I was really surprised. The staff are wearing masks, they provide hand sanitizer, and they are open for indoor dining. I ordered peach lychee tea and the Korean bulgogi kimchi fries. My total came out $18 and that included tip. I thought it was pretty pricey. I waited about 15 minutes for my food. Not a bad wait since there was around 5 other orders they were working on. The tea was a pretty good size and the beef bulgogi fries had some weight to them. By the time I got home my fries were soggy (they sat for some time so that's on me) but wow they were still pretty hot! The beef was a bit on the chewy side but it was still edible. Overall the flavor was pretty good! Had that signature sweetness that bulgogi beef is known for. They had added a lot of toppings, sauce, and beef. It was filling! I think this snack can be enough for 2 people to share. Honestly, not bad for a tea place. The tea was alright. Not the worst I've had but no the best. The peach flavor was non-existent until the end. It tasted like sweet tea water. The good thing about it was that it was not OVERLY sweet. Some places really go heavy with the sweet. talk about an upgrade! they now have delicious silog bowls that I'm always thinking about and coming back for. the meat to rice ratio is very good but there have been times where it wasn't consistent. i haven't tried their other boba but the jasmine milk tea is pretty good. when they first opened, the service was a bit awkward and lot of kids running around but it's been fine the past few times I've been. who I assume are the new owners, are very nice and friendly. my only complaint, is that they use crinkle-cut fries and different sisig now. the old joy4tea, as lame as they were (sorry), had top tier sisig fries. I'm talkin' about way better than Senor Sisig. i get they have a new recipe now but I implore the owners to switch to regular cut fries and not maskara style (snout, ear, cheeks)... just pork belly would be fine. if they changed the fries, this place would for sure be a 5/5! read more

My name is Kevin, I've been a long time customer of this place, I like to frequent the place because it's nice to sit around in after a long week. Nice and quiet, made a friend with staff, overall nice guy who knows what I like. I would usually order a Taro Milk Tea with Egg Pudding, and in more recent visits, Banana Milk Tea, Thai base, Egg Pudding. My favorite part would be getting to put sticky notes on the wall, it would be covered in them every day, from people all around town, visiting, and so on. The culture was vibrant, fun, and every time I showed up I always left at least 1 on the board, even if there were no more thumbtacks, so I'd use my own thumbtacks to supplement it. Joy4Tea was my sanctuary, and I have their loyalty stamp cards to prove it, I currently have 2 left and I plan to use them on my last days living here in Union City before I move away in October 2024. Union City may not have a bar, or a pub, but this was my favorite spot to go above all else. That was, until July I was out at the last week of June visiting a friend in Montana, it was nice, this is yelp, that doesn't matter. When I came back, the place had reopened after a "remodeling" the door was being renewed, the posters were cleaned up, toys were being put away, and the post-it wall was empty. They were in the middle of hiring new staff, and the menu had been sliced down to less than 1/3rd of what it used to be. I tried not to give it much thought, and I was a bit hurt when they said they'd never do the post-it notes again because of new management. I loved to order their Korean BBQ chicken fry platter with cheese on it, that's gone, their paninis, also gone, Banana milk tea, the manager made one for me, and I appreciate that at least customer service is still nice (Better than the Popeyes nearby) but everything had pretty much been hard reset. I wanted to at least see what I could eat last week but when I checked their more recent menu their plates were so *empty* y'know? I mean yeah there are people who like *a* fried egg and Papaya salad with their sausage but, I knew I wouldn't eat 2/3rds of that, so I can't justify getting myself lunch. It was the first time I came and went without ordering, and I felt like my sanctuary was gone. In the end, their Taro Milk tea tasted exactly as it feels today, bitter, struggling- like you took everyone who knew how to make it just a week ago, let all of them go, and replaced it with a total stranger of a flavor. I still loved Joy4Tea, I loved them because they were pretty much there for me when I needed something after a long hard week of stress and agony wrecking over my whole body, so I can't give it 1 star, but I can't say it's good enough to even give 3. If you want to feel nostalgia over it, you can still find the old photos of Joy4Tea through google, tons of photos of the post-it wall, the place was practically perfected. I don't expect them to change, "I'm one guy" etc. etc. I just write this review in hopes that there are people who either feel the same, tell tale of what once was, and I just hope Chris is doing well out there. I've come a plethora of times and I'm so glad I tried this place out! I will say the area around is a bit sketchy buuut it's worth it. Everyone here that I've encountered is always really nice and the manager (I think) is always on top of looking at the drinks and really keeping things in order. This place had great drinks and food!! The variety was amazing and surprising. They had a wide range of fruit teas, milk teas and smoothies. My personal favorite is definitely the taro cheese cake smoothie. I'm a sucker for fries and they nailed it with the loaded fries. The place is nice and the food and drinks are pretty good. When you enter the shop, you may get overwhelmed with all the pictures and and menu, but it's pretty nice. Where we take a few stars off is the customer service. The girl may either be new, or she needs a bit more patience or practice with customer service. We got there and tried to order drinks, we asked if we could have coffee jelly with one of the drinks, and she answered with a condescending tone "we don't have that"...slightly our fault since there was a small sign by the register listing the drink toppings. But it was our first time there and like I mentioned, it was pretty overwhelming with everything you see. We had kids and had them order their drinks, as one of the kids gave their orders, the girl goes "speak up on the mic"...not sure if she sounded annoyed, or that's just the way she is. But she didn't sound very inviting especially as a host for their shop. Maybe she was just having a bad day, or maybe that's just the way she is. I don't understand why Joy4Tea only has 3.5 stars when they clearly should have 5 stars :) The food and drinks that we ordered were amazing. We ordered the Original Pork Sisig Fries, Korean Beef Kimchi Fries, Strawberry Cheesecake Drink, and the Okinawa Milk Tea. This was our first time ordering, and the young lady who helped us was really nice; we asked how big an order of the fries were and she showed us the container that it would be in, as well as answered our other questions. After we placed our order, we waited and looked at the walls that were filled with menu items and post-it notes of drawings from their customers. Before we left, the young lady asked if I would like a loyalty card, and I said yes because I am planning to come again in the future. I went to this amazing place on Monday morning and the service was beyond what I expected, I was greeted with the most beautiful Smile I have seen in years. My cashier a lovely young lady made my day. She not only made my boba tea to perfection but she also gave me some extra tea rather than getting rid of it. I thought that was very kind of her. She never stopped smiling and being a complete sweetheart. My cousin and I decided to come here and give them a try. Finding this delicacy is very rare or nonexistent in this area. Sisig is a traditional Filipino dish that's compose of sizzling pork, onions, and peppers. In the Joy 4 Tea variation, it includes tomato, chives, and their special sisig sauce. You an opt for regular or curly fries. We opted for the curly fries. The sisig fries did take a while to prepare, but we didn't mind the wait. The melodies of the flavors in the dish meshed very well with each other! The curly fries had a mixture of crispiness, but you'll end up with soggy fries towards the middle. The sisig was tender and easy to chew. I think what actually makes this dish is the sisig sauce added to it. It's kinda like a tartar sauce for sisig. I'd definitely be back for the fries! The classic milk tea tasted good but boba was very dry and didn't taste right. Service was quick. The waiting area is not spacious at all.

The place was not crowded nor was it empty. I order their J4T signature milk tea fory brother and a taro milk tea for myself. The taro mik tea was okay but my brother said his milk tea tasted weird. The problem I have was the payment. For some reason it did not accept my card on the first payment so the cashier ask me to input it again. I did it for the 2nd time and this time the card reader was taking too long so I ask her what is taking so long. She then ask me to insert it again and it finally complete the payment. Kinda sketchy, but fortunately I was not charged more than once for my order. I am glad it worked out but they had to fix their card reader. read more

I stumbled upon this place after eating a great comforting lunch nearby at Lechon Manila. I wanted dessert after taking a casual stroll and Joy4Tea showed itself to me. The signage can be a bit in your face but they have them up for a reason because it seems like the crew is proud of their creations here. I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake item and enjoyed every last ounce of it, and I ended up trying to eat all of the remains along the insides of my empty cup.
