This was the pushiest sales team I've encountered in a while. I still bought something because they had what I wanted when no where else did, but I almost didn't because they were irritating me as they were losing their sense of respect by being overtly pushy. I wouldn't walk in here unless you want to feel like you can't even stand for more than 40 seconds without someone asking if you're going to buy the shoes, have you made a decision, you should just get them, what's holding you back. I kid you not 4 different associates, and not a single one could leave me alone for a minute straight, I literally left 3 times. I don't usually leave bad reviews unless I truly feel the service was bad, and this was. Please do better, I understand ya'll are sales associates, but I don't want to feel forced to buy something if I don't want it. read more

I went back twice to ask for advice about breaking them in and making sure I got the right size. Zoe was sooooo helpful. The other employees were also super friendly. Their Motto is 'An Attitude You Can Wear'... I'm not so sure if the employees over at the Barton Creek store get the difference between an attitude you can wear and an attitude you can have. Look, I've spent many of years in retail and hated almost every bit of it so much that I fandangled my way through the retail system to obtain a position that had the least amount of customer interaction... I took charge of the situation and created my own path. I digress but I do have a point. If you don't like your job, get another one! I know it's not that easy but come on man... don't take your 'bad, i hate the world and this trend-ized shoe shop and all the tween walk throughs I have to deal with' attitude out on me. I'm happy and nice, for the most part, and when I smile and try to make small talk to change up your day, please try to accept my kindness and consideration. Please do not snub me!... because that makes you just like what you hate....Now that I have that out of my system. On the day I visited, I felt like I was such an inconvenience. It's a shoe store right? You ask to try on shoes or did I miss something because the guy working the store made it seem like he had something better to do while on the clock. Then when the pair of Vans I wanted to buy had a mark on them, and by no means was it some little petty dirt mark, it was a smudge completely across the toe of my new blue and brown plaid print slip ons... man I love my new kicks! Anyhow, I asked for another pair and I seriously thought fire was literally going to come from his eyes. LITERALLY! I do have say, towards the end of my transaction, he simmered down and perked up when I also purchased a pack of argyle socks ( I told ya'll, argyle obsession, see J.Crew Review). I can never find my shoe size anywhere in a store and I always have to end up ordering my shoes online, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found my size at Hot Topic. They also said if I found something that I liked and if they didn't have it in my size that they would order it for me and have it delivered to my house. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is a bit hot inside the store because of the size of the store and the amount of people inside, but I was just happy that they had some shoes in my size. read more

They have a good selection of shoes here, and the service ok, not great. But what really got me was the salesy pushiness of the place. You get to the counter and the guy's like want some socks? No thanks. You sure? Yeah I'm sure. I mean this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy socks, do you hate your feet or something? I went to return one of the two pair of shoes I bought. The orange haired dude with glasses tried hard to convince me to not to return. Then when I insisted on returning them, kind of rolled his eyes in disapproval and said "ooooo---k", as if to say I just made the worst decision in my life. I was given the best customer service at the Journey's in Barton Creek Mall today. The manager Kennedy Ray was super nice and really went above and beyond. There was a scuff on the boots I wanted to purchase for a Christmas present for my daughter, and they were the only ones left in the right size. He tried to buff out the scuffs which improved the appearance and he also gave me a discount because there was also a slight tear on the tongue. I greatly appreciate his kindness and helpfulness! The girl who greeted me when I walked in was also very friendly and nice. So many times I walk into stores and the employees don't bother acknowledging my existence and don't want to help. Not the case here. Overall just a great experience thanks to the stellar service. I highly recommend shopping there! read more

I'll take a good chunk of my time to talk about my terrible, annoying Journey's experience earlier today in Austin, Texas. My girlfriend and I stopped at this Journey's in Barton Creek Square Mall. Within seconds, a vicious, incredibly annoying salesman began hounding my girlfriend and myself. He was tall, bearded, and wore glasses - reminded me of an overgrown, vocal hobbit. Aside from being condescending and very offensive to us (trying to coerce my girlfriend into trying on things she clearly wasn't interested in), he also attempted to mock me while we purchased a pair of shoes, asking why I wasn't supporting my girlfriend's interest (which...was actually non-existent). In addition, when my girlfriend finally purchased shoes (with NO help from this condescending fellow), she declined to use a box. I told this fine example of a car salesman that I hoped he was going to recycle the box. He look at both of us and threw the box away in the store trash bin and said, "Yep!" How this guy has a job is beyond me. Great hiring job though, definitely. We'll be taking the shoes back and finding a better place to give our money. With retailers like Sports Authority going bankrupt, it takes a lot of balls to have sh!#y customer service. Kudos, Journey's. read more

No returns policy. It's almost like their manager's bonus is dependent on not honoring thier returns policy, so it may as well not exist. I demanded the return policy honored, and was laughed at and told he could not take the shoe's back. I said WTF not? He looked at the shoes and said they looked like they were old. (They did not look old, they were purchased 2 days prior). Ended up having my CC company duke it out. They are A-holes here. read more

Came in and wasn't greeted until after employee was finished with a call on their personal cell phone. Didn't have a shoe in stock that I needed within 3 days, so the salesperson recommended paying an extra $18 to have the shoe in 2 days delivered to my doorstep. Long story short, shoes took 5 days and a shipping refund has been denied. Save yourself some time and frustration by not electing to ship from the store. Will take the Zappos route when I need fast shipping. read more
