I would highly recommend Jose. He came out for an estimate right away and we agree to a price. They came the next day and they did a very thorough job. He has all the tools and machines to trim, cut and grind the trees. All of this crew members were also very nice. His prices were more than fair and beat the other estimates. I called Jose's Tree Service after reading the generally positive reviews on Yelp. I spoke to someone on a Wednesday and scheduled them to give me an estimate on Friday morning at 8am. No one showed up on Friday. I called around 8:30am and they told me they forgot about my appointment. We agreed to reschedule the next day (Satruday) at the same time. Again, they decided not to show up and not to call. So I decided to take my business to someone who knows how to serve a customer. read more

Jose's tree service was fantastic!!! These guys are had workers, fast, incredibly nice and super helpful. Not only did they cut my tree for a great price but they cleaned my gutters and made firewood logs for me and helped my stack them in my garage. Afterwords, they cleaned up the mess the job made! Jose did move the appointment two hours later in the day the night before but this wasn't an issue for me as I figured I'd have to take a few hours off of work anyhow. Jose's Tree Service is PHENOMENAL!!!! After getting several estimates for the job I needed done which was quite substantial he was the most affordable. Jose is professional and courteous, and his crew was really nice. They did the entire job in 2 hours flat and they are very very affordable. When I called to inquire for estimates he came out the same day I called (some tree services were very flaky about coming out and many didn't return my call). We needed a tree removed after a storm, we tried this service. First try, said he would come check out the damage and call us back which he did NOT follow through on. We called back and left a message with his "secretary" and that was 5 days ago; and no call back to this day. Horrible customer service... We had a tree in the back yard that was hit by lightning about 5 or 6 years ago and was slowly dying. We called a few contractors. Jose actually came out on a Sunday to look at it and called us with a quote within an hour (one of the others - Mario's Landscaping - never even called back) Jose and his crew of 7 were here for almost 5 hours today working their butts off to get the tree down. I was very impressed with how organized they were. Everyone knew exactly what they were supposed to do and where to be. Because of the setting, they couldn't use a bucket truck, so they had to climb the tree and "take it apart" piece by piece. They got the 7 or so story tree down safely, avoiding both our and the neighbor's garage, the power lines, fence, and surrounding trees. They temporarily relocated and then replanted the bushes around the tree, removed and then replaced the stepping stones in the yard to avoid crushing them, and did an excellent job of cleaning up. Overall, I would highly recommend Jose and his crew to anyone who has a complicated tree removal on their hands. And the cherry on top - their price was about half what another place quoted us! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Jose's Tree Service. From the first phone call for a estimate to job complete. Had a huge Elm trimmed and they couldn't be more affecient and professional. Cleaned the whole yard up and also helped with filling in a area with wood chips, more like chunky mulch from their chipper. All of the team were very polite and helpful and the tree is trimmed just the way we wanted. We will not be calling anyone else in the future for tree trimming. I can't say enough good things about Jose and his service. I hired him to cut a large pine tree that towered over my house and was at risk of falling with another strong storm. He came out the day after I called and provided a very reasonable quote. We scheduled the service a few days later and he was here on time. The tree was cut and cleaned in under two hours. We had such a good experience that we asked for another quote for our backyard. He gave us an estimate to cut down a mangy magnolia that was not kept up before we bought this house. Also, our neighbor has a massive weed tree that sits nearly on our property line. Half of our neighbor's tree branches cover our yard. Our neighbor is not the nicest person in the world and is completely unaccommodating. Jose had to do the job without stepping foot onto her property. He came out 2 weeks later and did another fantastic job, cutting down the magnolia, cutting half of our neighbor's tree - whatever covered our property's airspace and managing a very difficult neighbor. I needed a tree removed, so I started searching for companies. I called several, but the only one that returned my call (actually the same day) was Jose's Tree Service. He told me he would come out the next day and quote the job. He did just that and gave me a fair price. I was able to schedule the removal within a few days. He and his crew showed up on time, perfromed expert work in a fast, but not unsafe manner, and they cleaned everything up as they went along. The tree is now gone, and the yard looks great. I called Jose Tree Removal out for an estimate two weeks ago. Jose's son, Jose Jr. came to my house and looked at a tree I wanted removed in my backyard. Jose Jr gave my wife a business card and quoted her 1000 for the removal of the tree. On the back of the business card, Jose Jr wrote 900 for removal of the tree and an additional 100 to remove the stump. Two days ago, I called to schedule a time to have Jose Tree Service remove the tree. The lady on the phone told me Jose would call me back. Ten minutes later, Jose called and told me he had no record of our estimate and would be out to look at the tree again. I informed him I had his business card and his son gave us the quote. No one showed that day to "give a second estimate." On today's date, my wife called Jose Tree Service a third time only to be told by Jose that he came out and looked at the tree without our knowledge and the original quote by his son was too low. He now wanted 1300 for the removal. When my wife asked about the change in price, Jose told her his son was just learning how to give estimates and he refused to honor the original quote. My wife called me to give me the news so I decided to call Jose. Jose told me in essence the same thing. I informed Jose I felt this was a poor way to conduct business at which time Jose related his new price was firm. I told Jose I found him on the website Yelp and would be submitting a negative review on the site. Jose responded, "I don't care." This one is a bit long, but be sure to read all the way to the surprise ending! I found two tree services in my area on Yelp! Both Jose's Tree Service and A-1 had very good reviews, so I met with both of them for estimates. Jose took about 15 minutes to discuss and survey the job and wrote up a detailed estimate that seemed like a good price. The next day Sy from A-1 walked around the lot for about few minutes before asking, "how many estimates are you getting?" I told him at least two and fibbed a bit saying he was the first one. He wouldn't give me an estimate, instead asking that I call him with the other bids and he would do better. A couple of days later Sy called back to ask about the job and I told him the bid from Jose. Sy said he would do it for $300 less. Again I fibbed and said one more guy was coming out. I really preferred to work with Jose but wanted to get the best deal I could. There was something about Sy that didn't feel right, like a slick salesman who is too friendly, you know the type? Jose came back out and agreed to a lower price. A couple of days later he and a crew of 7 guys showed up right on time and did an amazing job. Jose expertly trimmed one live tree while Antonio went at the dead, 50 ft tall Catalpa in a cherry picker like a surgeon. Both the men in the trees and on the ground had a system of ropes and leverage to make sure everything fell to the ground safely and under control. The coordination and communication between the crew was very impressive. I expected they would leave a stump from the catalpa, but near the end of the job another guy showed up with a machine that removed the entire stump! They cleaned and raked the entire lot, removed everything they cut down and more finishing up and gone in about 6 hours. I was so impressed I paid them more than the rate we agreed on. After they left I was working around my yard when Sy drove up. He says, "so I see you went behind my back!" then proceeded to curse me up one side and down the other with language you can't post online. He was turning 3 shades of purple in a racist, sexist, ignorant rant. I knew there was something I didn't like about the guy and he confirmed it! My advice, call Jose! read more

Jose's tree service is the only one to use. I called others for estimates which took longer to receive, were higher in cost, and would take longer to get the job done. Jose came quickly, quoted the cheapest price, and was able to come within a couple days to do the job. He arrived with a crew of 6 guys who busted their backs the whole time and completely cleaned up after themselves (in not just my yard but my neighbor's too). They did an absolutely awesome job removing the four trees and two stumps in the original quote plus hauling away old deck wood and cleaning out my gutters which I added on upon arrival. We hired Jose's Tree Service to remove a tree stump in our yard. This was not an ordinary stump - there was a chain-link fence entangled in it! Our landscaper refused to touch it, and another Tree service gave us a much higher estimate. The job was done this afternoon. Although the crew was delayed by another job, they called to inform us of the delay ahead of time so we weren't left waiting. And when the crew arrived, they were efficient, competent and professional. They hauled away the debris, ground up the stump and cleaned up the area quite nicely.
