I had a tree with a branch that broke off and was hanging precariously. I decided just to get rid of the whole tree. In my quest for a tree removal service I went online and came across Jose's Tree Service. Jose showed up with a chipper truck and a work crew of four. They had my two trees down in about three hours. The trees were tangled in the electrical, telephone and cable service for three buildings. But Jose's crew are experts and cut the tree branch by branch. Hence no power, internet or cable outages for me or my neighbors. Good thing because it was Saturday - prime college football viewing time. They swept and cleaned the loose twigs from the neighbor's property. Jose is rather soft spoken. He will pick up a saw or broom and help his guys. I messaged multiple tree surgeons in the area with a weird request. I wanted tree stumps for my 3 and 5 year old to be able to hammer nails into. Four people didn't even respond, one person responded to say they didn't provide this service. Jose's son Israel was the only one who not only responded back with a message, but also called. He was kind enough to send pictures of what he had, and then offered to drop them off at my house. SO WONDERFUL!! If you're in need of tree service Jose's Tree Service comes highly recommended! First of all the tree that needed to be trimmed was not on my property but since the branches crossed my property line the city of Chicago said it was my responsibility. The city trimmed part of this tree that was in the way of the demolition of an abandoned building. I found Jose's Tree Service on Yelp and they were very professional and reasonable. They came out and gave us a quote quickly. When we set up a date they arrived on time and cleaned the area after trimming the tree. The tree's base was in a vacant lot so I wasn't concerned about the cleanup but they did an excellent job! I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. read more

Jose's Tree Service did a great job! They came out fast, gave me an on the spot quote and scheduled it. They took down a giant tree in our yard in 1 day and left it better than it was before. They had to remove part of the fence and move things in the yard out of the way. They brought the right equipment and enough workers to get it done fast. However I left a message for Jose on his voicemail 4 days ago, then with what sounded like his daughter 2 days ago. I have yet to hear back. Went onto Yelp to find a company to remove four giant trees in my backyard. Three were dead and the fourth dying(yes, on a chicago lot backyard). I put it off for years because of quotes I had received that were quite high. I call Jose', left a message and received a call back promptly. Jose' came out within the hour and checked out my trees. He gave me a quote on-the-spot both trees only and with the stumps removed. His quote floored me. Is was close to 1/2 what others have quoted. He assured me that his company was insured and we made plans for the upcoming Saturday. They arrived on time and in force. Around nine workers, a cherry picker, stump remover and two truck to haul the trees away. Jose' had his insurance agent email a copy of his certificate to me. They worked very hard and fast. I called Saturday afternoon to order firewood for a gathering. I wanted to shop local and this place has good reviews. After a call, I texted my address to a woman. Was told that they were available and Jose would contact me to drop off for $90. I needed wood for an event and I was so glad that they answered, promised to deliver, and promised same day service! I drove past the gas station with overpriced wood bundles. I went about my day. I went out and did errands. The day goes by and no one called me. I left messages on the phone number and no one responded. I also texted the lady to ask if it was happening so I could go out and buy wood if it wasn't happening. She never responded.I called last at 8pm but still still absolutely no communication. They didn't even blow me off and say "oh we're busy, so sorry" or anything. I don't understand how businesses work this way if they don't value their customers and their word. I wish they would have been honest with me and fulfilled their promise. read more

If you need your trees trimmed..Do not bother to call anyone else!! These guys removed a very big very dangerously positioned tree that had grown within and over a utility pole with massive groups of wires in all directions! The job was completed without disturbing our koi pond situated directly below... (we had it well covered) but they were extremely professional and mindful. They let us choose a few branches of our beautiful tree to save and removed the rest. These guys have all the know how and large equipment for the tricky jobs! Great work! A big tree in the middle of the back yard, near a power line and lots of cables. Jose's son (also Jose) gave me an estimate for 65% of the average of the other estimates I'd received, and showed up right on time two days later with ten guys, a crane, a bucket truck, a wood chipper, and a bunch of chain saws. These guys are great! I talked to Jose yesterday, they had a cancelation, less than 24 Hours later my tree is gone. The stump was in a tricky spot, so they removed the piece of fence and didn't damage the sidewalk that it was growing under. Price was good. All the guys where professional. They cleaned up everything. Except for the tree being gone you wouldn't even know they had been there. They removed an old dead tree hoisting 6 huge branches over a tall fence along with electric and phone wires... They deftly avoided damage to a tree swing in a tree near bye, and a play platform at the base of the tree they removed. They also combed the yard culling dead branches in high trees they scaled easily and quickly. They put down plywood under their truck tires, because I was afraid the weight would damage the lawn after all the rain we have had lately. All was cleaned up immediately and precisely. Jose's tree service was great. They came in and cut down a 50+ foot tree in a tight area in our backyard. They chopped it down, cleaned up and were out in a little over an hour. Left the property looking like it was before they arrived. They left larger logs for us to use as firewood and even made a chair out of the stump (our requests).
