I myself opted for a simple gin and tonic and I had about six types to choose from. I chose classic Bombay and was not disappointed. We had Steak Frites, and the Garlic Shrimp. Both came with a house salad. The salad was lovely; fresh and crisp with ripe red tomatoes, croutons, onions and a little bit of buffalo mozzarella topped with a classic oil and vinegar. Very nice. Both entrées were very generous in portion, and very good fare. This isn't a steakhouse but G's steak was quite nice, and my scrimps and veg were fabulous, perfectly seasoned with mild spice and an incredible portion. We were able to bring puppy dog onto the patio and it was surprising that we had the whole thing to ourselves on a Saturday evening. In addition to the great food and the great service it's a lovely place for people watching. We both enjoyed a relaxing evening sipping our cocktails, having great food, listening to good music and watching everybody come and go. Highly recommended, thank you Port Barna!

Although it's not the restaurant's fault that no one accepted our food pickup, I am disappointed they let the food sit out in the pickup area that whole time. They could have put it under a warmer or reheated the food upon our arrival. The flavor of the food was yummy but the oily finish of the food that had been reheated in the hotel microwave in a plastic container ruined the experience. I don't live in Stuart, but I would give them another try if I made my way back to the area (hence the 4 stars). I would definitely dine-in and not carry-out. The flavors give me hope for a future visit.

Love Josephine's! I have had the opportunity to sample breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this wonderful establishment. The food is consistently good and the service is on point! I love the Tapas & wine selection as well. The atmosphere is very cozy and makes you feel relaxed, yet involved all at the same time. The Brick oven Pizza is delicious! It's always a special treat when you see Renato (Josephine's husband & Chef of their neighboring restaurant Renato's) behind the Pizza Bar! You know its going to be Fabulous! This restaurant is by far the best there is in this area. The food, service and ambiance is absolutely outstanding! Josephine and her family are all from Italy, so it's like you are in Italy when you go here. Everything on the menu is very delicious, but my favorite is the Lasagna and the Margherita Pizza. That was when Christopher came over and questioned both of them about their military identification in a manner that felt extremely uncomfortable and unnecessarily confrontational. They were made to feel as though they were teenagers trying to get into a bar with a fake ID rather than veterans simply accepting a discount that had been offered by their server. What was even more concerning was the way Christopher spoke to our server. He told her she was "ONLY a server," that he was the manager, and that she was not allowed to return to our table. She had been exceptional throughout the entire evening, and she eventually came back to our table in tears to apologize for his behavior toward us. No employee should be made to feel that way, especially in front of customers. When I asked Christopher for his business card, he avoided me until we were leaving. I finally found him, and he essentially shoved a handwritten card into my hand while stating that he "has every right to validate" the military discount. I told him that I completely understood that he had the right to verify eligibility for a discount. The issue was the way it was handled--both the way he treated my husband and his friend and, even more importantly, the demeaning way he treated an employee who had provided exceptional service all evening. Management has every right to verify a discount, but there is a professional and respectful way to do so. Based on this experience, I believe the restaurant's leadership should seriously reevaluate how this manager interacts with both customers and staff.

There are a lot of reviews out there as this place has been in business a long time. You have to be doing something right in my opinion and well, they are good and they are meh - depends on your expectations I suppose. The story goes that Peter used to work at Peter Lugers in NYC - the holy grail of US Steakhouses. Does working at the best steakhouse in the US qualify you in any way to run a steakhouse? Not sure. But there were definitely things at Peter's that were spot-on as compared to Lugers. The place is set off the beaten path in Jensen Beach. Sort of a tropical vibe looking building and the decor inside is somewhat dated and hard to describe - beachy / Ocktoberfest is maybe the best way to put it. The staff consisted of three ladies the night we were there (a Saturday) and like that Meatloaf song goes, two our of three ain't bad. Two were just super friendly and personable - the third one just looked miserable. They all hit our table at one point or another during the evening and #3 just was not there mentally. she wasn't rude or anything - just blah. We got started with a nice glass of wine - the wine list is decent - not overly pretentious and there is something there for every price point. The menu is steakhouse standard with a few German dishes tossed in there - fine by me. Those are very complimentary cuisines. We started off with the escargot and the "Peter's special salad". Escargot came out swimming in a garlic sauce on top of a flaky pastry - a new spin on an old classic and it had enough garlic to lower you blood pressure like 50 points - outstanding. Salad was large and was enough for the both of us to work with. I went with the Porterhouse for two (med-rare), with sauteed mushrooms and Peter's hash browns. Steak was cooked perfectly and presentation was wonderful. The Hash browns were also a hit but the sauteed mushrooms lacked any flavor- I expected something a lot more sauteed looking - deep, dark in color and these were just meh. The meat is the star here and these steaks definitely hit the mark in terms of flavor and tenderness. All in all a very good night out. Prices were steakhouse specific and they offer valet parking. The crowd is older and the one they they did not have was a free standing bar- that is sort of a missed opportunity in my opinion, and a massive crowd generator in steakhouses in the north. Definitely give it shot if looking or a really good steak - those are exceedingly hard to come by on the Treasure coast. Valet parking in their lot, or park in downtown Jensen and stroll over.
