Really solid experience. Ambiance was nice. Service and host staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. Bread and roasted garlic with olive oil was amazing. The mussels were absolutely the star of the show, they were plump and cooked perfectly, and the accompanying bread was 10/10. The antipasto salad was really good, red sauce was great, our cocktails were really well made, and we can be picky about cocktails. We had one app item that we didn't love but with the price, the amazing service and everything else, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. read more

I was extremely disappointed with our recent $94 takeout order from Nonna's on Hutchinson Island. For the price, I expected much better quality. The food we received was unacceptable. Several items were so badly burned that even my dogs wouldn't eat them. The pork chop was also so overwhelmingly salty that it was impossible to enjoy. When you're paying nearly $100 for a pickup order, you expect food to be prepared with care and checked before it leaves the kitchen. Unfortunately, this meal was a complete waste of money and did not reflect the quality I was hoping for. We learned Nonna's has an excellent Happy Hour food and drink offering so we thought we'd give it a try. Located in a small shopping plaza, we probably drove by over a hundred times over the years and didn't even realize Nonna's was here. We were seated at a "bar table" overlooking the kitchen. This gave us the opportunity to look at everything people ordered. After ordering some great priced drinks we started with a Margarita Pizza. Really good with the "pure" taste I've experienced from better places in Chicago, New York and even Italy. The basil, tomatoes and cheese were tasted separately but came together so nicely. The crust was really good as well. We also ordered "zesty herb roasted chicken wings". They were good and had a nice flavor from the chili spices. Nonna's was packed but the service was excellent. We are locals and will never go to a Kyle G restaurant again!! always overpriced for less than par food that is inconsistent in flavor!! Not to mention the AC NEVER works fully so it's a sauna in there EVERYDAY unlike the lies the owner says in previous reviews. He never calls to get it fixed, it's just a BS excuse for optics. THEN, let's talk about the cover charge...I mean convince fee....to even enter the building..$8.80 convenience fee added to every bill now!! WTF, I am not paying a cover charge, update your pricing accordingly and people might actually start coming! Until then, WE THE PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF YOUR BS. Very surprised this place is part of Kyle G's. Seems forgotten. Chef should be fired for allowing yesterday's rubbery potatoes and overcooked asparagus to go out. When we complained to the manager, she didn't act surprised. Need an expeditor to oversee plates going out. And to add, there were only 4 tables dining. No excuse. Our reservation was at 8pm on Saturday and they were already sold out of Osso Bucco. Leaving very disappointed and will not be returning. Had Dinner last night with friends at nonnas in Jensen beach. My husbands lasagna was dry and tasteless. Looked as if it had been reheated more than once. It surely wasn't fresh made and there wasn't any extra sauce on the plate. It was awful. My dish was chicken francaise. It came with the whole plate loaded with spaghetti and also a thin sauce with no lemon taste and one small piece of chicken (also no flavor). The whole dish was flat tasting. Will not be going back to this restaurant any time soon. In addition, there was no air conditioning. This was 6 pm on a Saturday night and the place was filled with diners. The waitress was great but the food was awful. Just to be fair pictures were taken this morning however food didn't look much better last night when it was served. Not much ambiance as it is a family restaurant. The tables were very close and too many tables as my husband was sitting practically in the path of wait staff and diners. Had to adjust table back and then I was almost sitting on top of another diner at next table. My friends also didn't enjoy their meal but they have posted on open table, as they made the reservations for us all. read more

Went Christmas Eve for a nice dinner. The inside was cozy and they did have an outside patio. We ordered calamari and mozzarella loaf to start. Everyone ordered a drink but my favorite was my strawberry shortcake martini For dinner my daughter and I split chicken Parmesan which was enough for the both of us, my mother ordered something with shrimp but she didn't like it and they were nice enough to exchange it for the chicken Parm. Heather was exceptional with recommendations and at keeping our glasses filled. Absolutely terrible. Monday night, happy hours starts at 6 PM with appetizers half off. We had reservations for 545 ordered drinks and our appetizers. They came out a half hour later and half of the appetizers they were already out of. We ordered drinks that took 20 to 40 minutes to get. The one couple ordered dinner while everyone else had multiple appetizers. Their dinner took an hour and 45 minutes to come out. The manager insulted us by saying I'll give you a free dessert since your dinner took so long. I will never ever go to this restaurant again. Absolutely terrible and the worst ever. The only bright spot was our server Rose, who was a complete sweetheart. After reading the reviews we decided to Nonna's to have a birthday celebration for my husband. Nonnas did not disappoint. As we entered we were delighted with the warm ambience of the dining room and bar. Our party of 4 were seated and our server was very prompt in asking if we wanted a cocktail before dinner. My sister in law got the White Cosmos and reported it was delish. My husband and I ordered a bottle of wine and started sipping as our dining companions finished their drink. The wine selection has variety, and is priced reasonably. The food menu had many wonderful dishes from which to choose and again reasonably priced. I ordered the chicken Marcella, my husband ordered the Gnocchi. The server brought warm bread and some of the best olive oil and herb dipping sauce. Everyone at the table got Cesar salads which were served chilled. The romaine was fresh and the dressing was delicious. I ordered the house salad which was adequate but not nearly as good as the Cesars. The main entrees portions were generous and the quality and taste well above average. I consider myself a chicken Marcella "snob," and I honestly have to say this was some of the best I've eaten. The chicken was tender and cooked to perfection, and the sauce was extremely tasty! BEST gnocchi I've had in years! I want to go back to Jensen Beach just for this dish! Seriously, amazing! I ordered the Ricotta Gnocchi with Mushroom and it was so pillowy and perfect. The sauce was absolutely delicious! I recommend! My coworkers ordered the Lasagna and it looked so good! It's apparently a very popular dish at Nonna's, and they do NOT skimp on the portions. There was so much food! The appetizers were super yummy as well. We ordered the calamari, the signature meatballs, and Nonna's handbags. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and so hearty! It was like a real Italian grandmother made this food! The restaurant is cozy. The service was friendly and even though they were busy, we didn't have to wait too long for anything. Xmas Eve decided to eat outside after the put us in a back corner looking at a door. That was with reservations. It was pretty nippy out but better than the inside very loud to be expected but sorry that table shouldn't even be there. Much as I like oak and ember I'm done with Kyle g for any holiday! 100$ for glass of cheapest wine salmon and this meat dish. Potatoes were tasteless and hard on both plates but meat was good. Let's see , walk in the door at 6:25 with reservations for 5 at 6:30 place wasn't busy. As you walk in the open area kitchen is right there with a small bar I'm guessing a wait bar. But that area was hot as hell. Needs better AC . Finally got sat after 3 people spoke to us. They put us at a table for 4 with the drop leaf up , well the drop leaf was broke and leaning if you put a plate or drink on it , it would fall off into your lap. When we ask to either get it fixed or put it down and put another table near it we were told we couldn't do that and that all the other tables with the drop leaf have the same issue We in turn moved to another table with a little more room , either way if you can charge that much for food fix the dam tables As for the food most of what we order was good, no I would say excellent, the service on the other hand was mediocre. I was in Jensen Beach for a conference and a friend suggested we dine here. Unfortunately, upon arrival we were told they were all booked with reservations. However, we were offered a table outside and that worked for us. Our service was outstanding and our food was even better. One member of our party had a pizza which she said was great and was able to take half of it home. Another member of my party had the mushroom risotto which she said was perfectly cooked. I had the chicken piccatta and it was the best version of the dish that I have had it years. It was seriously difficult for me not to just take a spoon and drink that sauce. We finished with a piece of limoncello cake which was also phenomenal. I cannot recommend this place enough. *Please note there is a service charge on the bill. We frequent Kyle G's restaurants quite often and Unfortunately this one is a Huge Disappointment.. Our Waitress was BEYOND RUDE and down right nasty. She did not introduce herself when she approached the table after we waited at least 10 minutes...since we brought our own Wine we requested 2 glasses and 2 glasses of water which took another 10 minutes before the waitress brought it over. She tried to open our bottle of wine and proceeded to BREAK the cork... she rudely shoved the bottle into my husband's face and said " here YOU do it!" We were both Shocked and my husband had to figure out how to pour the wine... he requested a Decanter and was told in a VERY NASTY MANNER "NO". I then requested to speak to the manager and she was Very apologetic and replaced our server. We will continue to go to Kyle G's other restaurants but we will NEVER come back here AGAIN! Then I had the eggplant stack that did not disappoint! Another winner! My entree was the shrimp puttanesca and that just finished a nice fulfilling meal with a pretty decent ambiance to boot! We had some friends visiting and it was their last night in town. We had eaten out for lunch and dinner every day for a week so on our last night, we decided to go somewhere local. Nonna was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress Rose was excellent. She was super knowledgeable about the entire menu and really had control of every aspect of our service. It was clear that she was a leader amongst the staff. We had a chopped salad, chicken piccata meatballs, zucchini, fritters, and a few cocktails. All went well until complete pandemonium broke out in the restaurant. Apparently, their computers went down and so everything had to be done manually. All of the servers had to write their orders down in Long hand and submit them to the kitchen. Clients had to leave their credit card numbers behind and Hope on good faith that they were going to be charged appropriately. Our waitress never lost her poise and seem to have everything under control at our table. From my vantage point, there were other servers that were not as successful in communicating their Band-Aid approach to this screw up. I overheard someone say that this was not the first time this has happened. Overall, I was unimpressed with the way the manager seemed to be dealing with some of the aggravated patrons. No one ever wants to leave their credit card number blindly behind not knowing what the actual bill is going to be. There were several uncomfortable servers who had more than the one night's worth of tips on them and they were being told that they had to leave their portfolio of cash tips behind. I felt really bad for them as the company was saying that they could not bring any money home that night. We were personally told that we would get a call the next day and they would verify our bill before they put it through. That did not happen. We are 100% positive that was no fault of our server since we went back to verify the next day. The whole Incident left a pretty bad taste in our mouths. I am not in the habit of leaving a bad restaurant review so let me be clear the food Was four stars. Let me also say that the service was five star by Rose. Overall, however, I would give management a failing grade. For handling the situation so poorly. read more

I really enjoyed everything about Nonna's. Full disclaimer...I do not frequent places with mandated tipping. This is a Kyle establishment, and he does mandate a 16% tip for all patrons. I don't like that policy, but I was invited to go with friends of mine, so I pushed my principles aside for the day and went. The interior has been redone from his old restaurant...Kyle's American Kitchen. It is much more quiet and intimate than before. The Italian-themed music, while appreciated, was a tad too loud--for me. But compared to other very noisy restaurants, one could actually hace a conversation here. The waiter, Brock, who deserved more than a 16% tip (and no, I will not encourage this mandated tipping policy by adding more to the check), was friendly, efficient, and a good representative of how a waiter should be. No complaints there. I ordered the chicken francese which was so tender I actually didn't need a knife. Properly sauced with just the right amount of lemon and wine, I thought it was a fabulously prepared dish. I ordered the side of Alfredo bucatini. Sometimes Alfredo sauce is thick and gummy, but the chef knew exactly how to make this rich without being cloying. The pasta, which I learned from Brock, is homemade, it was delicious and cooked al dente. One suggestion...use a larger plate as some of the sauce spilled onto my pants when the waiter put the dish down. The plate was much too small for the amount of food that was on it. On Sundays two entrees gets your table a bottle of wine--a nice promotion that I hope they keep, All in all, a great Italian place that is not at all overpriced but is misguided in its tipping policy. The meal we had at Nonna's was absolutely delicious! We started with the eggplant stack, outstanding, the fresh mozzarella and roasted tomatoes were devine, just perfect for 2. I ordered the spaghetti & Sunday sauce, omg the meatball was very large and tasty, lots of sausage and bites of the short rib in the sauce. It tasted like it simmered all day! My husband got the Veal Saltimbocca and that was fabulous, the veal, fresh spinach, capers in a delicious lemon butter sauce, it was so good. The restaurant was clean, tables set nice and far enough apart no to be on top of the other diners. Very cute inside plus the server was knowledgeable friendly and very personable. We came to Nonna's specifically for the lasagna, which is supposed to be their signature dish. By 7:30 pm, they had already run out. What made this especially frustrating was watching bussers clear tables with large amounts of lasagna left over -- it looked like they cut portions too large, wasted food, and left other guests without the chance to order it. When we asked our server for a substitute, she didn't have a recommendation, which made the situation more disappointing. I ended up ordering the osso buco instead, and unfortunately, it was not prepared well -- the meat was unexpectedly crunchy, which is not normal for a dish that should be slow-cooked and tender. The service itself was fine and the ambiance pleasant, but this restaurant feels like a place that makes one thing really well and puts it on everything. If they can't manage inventory on their signature dish, and the alternative falls flat, it leaves diners with a poor experience. Sadly, that was ours. read more
