Yesterday was the final straw. I had shopped there previously and dealt with an older salesperson named Lou. He did everything possible not to use a computer. I went back in yesterday and unfortunately he was the one to " help" me again. I asked him if he could look me up in the counter from a few months ago, and that I just wanted the same suit in a different color. He immediately and rudely snapped back " why would I do that , I know your size already ". He then proceeded to mis size me no less than 4 times which then unleashed a series of events. He walked away in the middle of helping me to help another customer, he passed gas while talking to me ( wish I was joking), he made a fat joke about another customer who was looking at some Hawaiian type button down shirts. Finally when it was time to remember he was helping me, he told me the pants for the suite I wanted after he argued with me about the color being what I asked for , when it was in fact not. The pants weren't in stock and he could not give me a concrete time for receiving them , and I was on a time crunch for getting the suite. I asked him if the pants were in stock at another store somewhere, I could just go there. His comment back was "'why would you do that , if the pants are in Kentucky would you go there to get them " At one point when he walked away from me another sales person tried to help , but had no clue where we left off before he farted and then left to help anther customer in the middle of helping me. So I just had to wait. That was the end for me. I told him I had no tolerance to play games or waste my time , he worked harder to be unhelpful and argumentative than it would have taken to just help me. I ended up walking out of the store which was by far the most convenient option being less than a mile from my home just to drive to another store to give them my business and to help me. It's a shame that someone like this represents the brand , as I will not step foot back in there as a customer ever again. Unprofessional, unwilling to use technology , and unwilling to listen to the customer who was asking for something very specific lost a customer as well as the other family members in the home that will be needing a suit in the future. Honestly he's an older gentleman and I could have gotten past him farting while talking to me if he had actually been even remotely helpful. Thank you to Lou and Jos A. I bought a suit today and noticed that the sales person rang up the suit for the full list price. I didn't say anything, I wanted to see if he would correct the price to the sale price, which would have reduced the price $150. I asked to have the suit seamed and I would pick it up later in the day. Before going back to pick up the suit I checked online and confirmed the sale price. When I went back to the store I told the sales rep that he failed to give me the sales price and that he needed to credit my card back $150. The sales rep response was that I didn't ask for the sales price!!! I told him that I have been a Josh A Banks customer for more than 20 years and I never had to request the sales price. The sales rep had a chance to be ethical and charge me the correct price but fail. Needless to say I'm disappointed and will think twice before going back or recommending Josh A Banks to anybody. read more

I called the store after not receiving my suite and was told we are busy, and they hung up. I called back hours later and was told I need to speak with my salesperson as they do not see anything in their compute about a suite I ordered for delivery. The confusing part is I was speaking to the store manager. Terrible customer service will NEVER go back. The manager had zero customer service skills at one point I asked should I cancel the order, and he stated yes if you want, I asked for the district manager 6 times and finally stated he it out this week. I haven't bought a suit in a decade, needed one for a wedding and was kind of dreading the process (especially because I know I can be picky/ indecisive). I didn't really know where to go, or what I was exactly in search of. This happened to be the second local place I looked (I wont mentioned the first but ... not great). This was my first ever time at Jos A Bank and as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a young gentlemen with a huge smile, his name was Kyle. He started by taking measurements and asking me some questions to figure out exactly what I was in search of. Right off the bat, between his outgoing personality, his attentiveness towards me, and his eye for detail, I could tell I was in for some spectacular customer service. He spent an incredible amount of time with me and showed me various options of suits, shirts, matching ties, even pocket squares. He answered all of my questions with confidence, gave me his honest opinion, got creative, and made incredible recommendations. I even started feeling bad about how much of his time I was taking up but he continued to assure me he was there to help till the end. I even over heard a remark from his colleague (possibly supervisor) to him that he needed to speed it up with me (at that time the store was fairly empty as well) and he didn't let that phase him, he still stayed with me till I was 110% confident that I loved the way I looked and was ready to purchase. I want to make it clear, it's because of his exceptional customer service that made me genuinely excited about my appearance and completely confident in my style, so much so that I didn't even hesitate spending hundreds of dollars. I am very grateful for the exceptional customer service Kyle provided to me, it was exactly what I needed in this suit journey and I will be forever grateful for his time. I would recommend stopping in to see Kyle if you are ever in need of any formal dress wear. 11/10 experience! read more

i had an unfortunate incident happen to me on the way to a very important corporate affair. I stopped at a local gas station near the store, and was robbed of my clothes, i was left in my underwear, i called the store to see if they could help me. Kyle answered the phone and i explained what happened and he assured me he could personally help me to avoid any additional embarrassment, he met me at the front door with a pair of pants and shirt and led me directly to the dressing room. He made sure that i was happy with the fit of the shirt and pants and even got the wrinkles out of my shirt so i would look good for my meeting. Kyle was very professional under the circumstances and deserves a raise, he is an assett to your company. read more

STAY AWAY, GET RENTALS ELSEWHERE! I would post zero stars if I could. To start their customer service was horrendous. We were a party of 10 who needed to rent tux's for a wedding. And im not exaggerating when i say every single person had issues with their tux's. Many needed alterations, and even after alterations multiple groomsmen had to come back again to get it re-hemmed or had to order other sizes. On one specific occasion we went to try and pick up the tuxs and we were greeted by David (ever so kindly) with a " yeah, and what do you want?" Very Professional! Really makes me the customer want to come back and continue to do business there! If this wasn't a national chain, this store would've been out of the shopping center years ago. The groom only picked this place because they beat out the competitors on price. Once we received the tux's it was apparent why they were the cheapest. There was loose threads all over the suit from the arms, the Groom had issues with his jacket and needed to order another size and have it overnighted the day before the wedding. The best part is we ended up paying more than what they and the groom agreed to! For some strange reason we all ended up paying full price. Everyone had to individually go and ask for a correction and get a refund. The groom only chose to use Jos A bank because our usual mom and pop tux place closed due to covid. If you are looking for a tux or suit as a rental go elsewhere. Dont be swayed by the price, its not worth the headache. Our initial appointment for our wedding tuxes went fantastic. David was great....so we thought. All the groomens besides 2 went to David for fitting including our two dads and everyones measurements were off by a lot. Eeveryone had to have their tuxes altered and come back two days later to pick up. Incredibly inconvenient. My husband had to buy a tux shirt to get one that fit him properly. Be advised the tux shirts have extremely baggy pirate arms. The customer service when each of my groomsmen went was horrific. The gentleman were rude and impatient. We spent a lot of money here and i couldnt be more disappointed. I will never use them again. STAY AWAY if you want an extreme headache. read more

I used Jos. A Banks for my wedding tux's and I did not have the best of experiences. I went with a national chain because I thought that i needed one. I had several groomsmen coming from out of state. I thought this was the easiest way to not have anything mixed up. I was pushed and up sold towards a more expensive tux. Fine they work on commission I get it. The wedding was in January, so the fittings were going to be in December. This is apparently their busy season. I had a groomsman drive over an hour to the store on a Saturday, only to be told that they wont do tux fittings on the weekends. The following day I went there with my ring bearer who I can only get on the weekends. Before asking who I was they tried to turn me away. When they realized I was the groom their tune changed quite a bit. I told him my disappointment about him turning my groomsman away and I was told again that they don't do fittings on the weekends during the holiday season because they want to MAKE MONEY. This was the assistant store manger! I told him that he was making money off of me since i had 10 Tux's being rented. His comment cost the store at least another $750 dollars in hats, gloves, socks, etc. which would have been part of the wedding party gift package. I would have stopped using them then and there if it wasn't so close to the wedding. I was made to feel like an unworthy customer. As well as all of this, I was also given a hard time about my accessory choices fighting me on what I wanted because they didn't match his idea of a traditional wedding attire. There were also the usual issues with things not fitting right and having to reorder. I do not recommend this store. Wow, just wow. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!! Quite honestly youre better off buying a suit online and getting it tailored. Both David and the "manager" Bill are the absolute worst. They cant even use the computer system for renting and got flustered/angry when they had to, their out of touch with what is in style, they are both incredibly rude, both made HUGE mistakes with the orders for my wedding tux rentals. Promised that they could deliver a look we wanted, even after showing pictures of what we wanted. When tux's arrived LITERALLY RIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING, they blamed ME for the mistakes. Said they never told me or my wife that they would be able to do the tux we wanted. And when confronted they got MORE rude and provided no fix to the situation. My best man and I even witnessed them being straight up nasty to an older gentleman (clearly a man who wears suits regularly) when he was upset with how his suit jacket fit. They told him "this is it, theres nothing we can do". This place is an absolute joke. How those two are still employed.. beyond me. Do not support this location. BUY ELSEWHERE!!!!! read more

Today I brought my 13 year old son to Jos A. Bank in the Mayfair Shopping Center to buy my son his first suit. We were helped by Vito. He had a huge heart and went above and beyond to find a small suit for my son. Vito went to every corner of the store and grabbed gorgeous colors of sports coats with chino pants, Shirts, ties, suits and Vito made a gorgeous outfit for my seventh grader and every item was on sale. We really should have gone to a store that had smaller sizes but we are thrilled with this elegant suit at such a reasonable price - we just feel badly that Vito cared so much and worked so hard. We wanted to bring him dinner but he told us that he wouldn't have time to eat it - prom season. What a sweet and creative man with a wonderful eye and a great work ethic. I brought everything to our own tailer and was thrilled that the whole suit buying experience only took about 40 minutes. Such great quality at this store and the sales are amazing right now. Horrible experience! I "was" a regular customer at this store. No longer. Went in yesterday (Sunday) - telling salesperson that I needed two suits by Friday September 29 (with alterations) for a business trip. She was helpful (she was a former manager from another location that was closed). I try on the suits. Tailor tells me they can't be done until October 8. Salesperson gets him to agree to do one suit by Friday September 29. Tailor can only do cuffs on second suit - not jacket sleeves. He looks at me - asks "Is that good?" In the meantime the sleeves are hanging to my knuckles. I tell him "No - that's NOT good!" I walk out of the store. I then come back in (feeling sorry for the salesperson) and suggest that I have the jacket sleeves done by an outside tailor. For my inconvenience - I ask for a small discount. Salesperson tells me she can't do anything. I ask for the manager. Manager on vacation. I speak to the person "in charge." He looks at me like he saw a ghost. He tells me he can't do anything. He actually tells me to come back when the manager returns - September 29 (the day I needed the suits!). So - I wasted all my time - walked out with no suits. Horrible experience. They could have directed me to another store that may have been able to accommodate my needs. No "out of the box" thinking. No consideration for what WAS a regular customer. What AWFUL TERRIBLE service. This place would get 0 stars if I could. My fiancé and I are getting suits their for our groomsmen & fathers. My dad went and the guy was complete rude and unprofessional. He told my dad they didn't have his size and he needed to lose weight for the wedding. My dad isn't a big guy my fiancé is probably double his size in height and width. He then told my dad he couldn't help him cause he had a customer waiting... I am sorry but what was my dad?!?! A CUSTOMER! Completely unprofessional and disgusting! We would cancel our entire order if other groomsmen didn't already order. Absolutely horrendous! Avoid this place at all costs. read more

How can anyone bash this place. The place is amazing. They help you out in here big time. If you are a seasoned veteran of fine fashion like myself lol or a beginner this is the place to come. I always deal with an older gentleman who I remember managing a shoe store from when I was a younger lad myself. He always helps me out and measures me up and we talk like friends together. The quality of the clothing is remarkable and the prices are not expensive at all. It's insane thst anyone can post a bogus review because they came into a store like a rookie and needed a suit altered in 3 hours or some stupid reason like that like the fool said in another review. This is a 5 star establishment and I recommend them raising their prices to keep fools out who expect too much. Go to Kohls and shop if you are a wanna be. I'm telling you this is a very nice store! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE! Do not go here. Went in months in advance before our wedding and what we thought was going to be nice and simple ended up being one of the most stressful parts of our wedding. Salesperson got almost every order wrong in some way, told each groomsman as well as both fathers that he would call when their suit was in and did not , then called me numerous times asking for information like phone numbers, etc because they "didn't have that information." Guy's suits should NOT be the concern of the bride 2 weeks before a wedding. When we returned the ties (the only thing that was rented) they tried to charge us $200.00 because they expected the ties back the next day-- which is the last thing any bride and groom are thinking about the day after the wedding, and also impossible as most people go on their honeymoon immediately after the wedding. We were so hopeful after our initial meeting with them but things went south very quickly and we are very disappointed. Hope they get it together. read more

Not sure why I am giving even 1 Star. Went in to get the pleats taken out of pleated suit pants. The price was fair and I enlisted them to make the modifications. At the same time, I was interested in purchasing a few pairs of slacks, which were supposedly on sale. They only had one pair in stock that fit. The other two pair would have to be ordered. When they charged my cc, I could not understand any of the billing listed on the receipt. I believe I was over charged, but have no real way to prove it. I would wait to hear from them once the additional slacks came in. Never heard from them. When I called, they could not locate the slacks. They told me they had my phone # incorrect, and had been calling the incorrect number for 2 weeks. I returned to the store and they only had 1 pair ready. I told them forget the second pair, as I am not that close and did not want to have to make additional trips to the store. They refunded the second pair. They then asked if I wanted traveler's pleats, to which I agreed. They charged me for that, and then told me that the person who does the pleats was on vacation (right after they charged my card for the pleat fee). They said they would credit me the amount charged, which has never come through on my credit card. This will most likely be the last time I shop there. Seems like a lot of them standing around, but no one knows the business. In addition, I cannot make any sense of the multitude of charge and return slips that I received. Ordered a suit 2 weeks ago for my nephews wedding. Was feeling really great because we were finally going to get a well made suit from a reputable shop. It was quite the contrary. Went to pick up the suit and it wasn't in the shop, it was in MARYLAND!! Feeling duped, because I was under the impression that a tailor was on site 100% of the time, I asked when the suit would arrive. They did not have an ETA! I explained the wedding was on Sunday and it was Friday and I need a suit. They were going to give me a loaner suit but it would not be ready until Sunday AT 12 NOON!! No not acceptable!! Demanded the suit I paid for on Saturday and asked that they track the package but they had no tracking information. The whole convoluted story started to grate on my last nerve and I ended up buying an off the rack suit from Macy's and demanded a refund. This store gets one star because they refunded my money without an argument. But I wish I didn't buy the overpriced shoes and socks from there!! Unprofessional and shady business.
