We left a voicemail on Friday 5/9/25 to ask a question. We received a call back the next day. I…read morehave a daughter graduating this year and we were looking for a dress for her Sr Prom. I asked the owner if they had sizes over a size 10. The owner assured me that they have every dress in stock, in multiple sizes. That my full figured girl could try on anything in the store, and in her size. I explained how sensitive the situation is, that if she walks into a store filled with beautiful dresses, and picks a dress she wants to try on, and it's not her size, or even close to it, how that will shatter her self esteem. We were assured that won't be the case, that they carry size 0-18. We told her what time we were coming in as well. Pulling up, my daughter could not contain her excitement. The window had beautiful gowns. She walked in and immediately went to the pink dress section. (Only 1 of each style on the floor). We asked an attendant (as we were not greeted at all when we entered), to please grab the dress she selected in a size 13. She said that they do not carry each dress in sizes over a 6. But there may be some that are a 10. I asked to speak with the owner after watching the light drain from my daughter's face. I asked if I misunderstood what she stated over the phone, and she said that I hadn't. That coming into the store, we could see what they have and then order in her size. Also that dress orders are final sale. I told her that not allowing someone to try on a dress, and blindly buy a non refundable gown ($500.00 and up), is insane. And that I was upset she lied to me to get us into the store. That it's bad businesses and body shaming. That she had shattered my daughter's day, her self esteem, and made what should have been a beautiful and memorable experience the worst. She did not apologize. She shrugged. She walked over to my daughter's fitting room. Shouted in front of other mom's (with their daughters that could easily fit into all the gowns in the store, no problem), she's a 12 on top and a 14 on the bottom. Then snapped her gums and walked away. We left the store, my daughter in tears. No apology. No resolution. She just humiliated her. She carries beautiful gowns. But so do over 100 other dress stores on Long Island. Please do not support this cruel, body shaming, lying business owner. We are women who should be building one another up. But I do not condone wickedness. This store does not deserve your business. Sadly I had to choose a star. I wouldn't have even given 1.

I brought a two piece pantsuit to be hemmed on both the length of pant and length of sleeve. Maria measured me, asked when I needed it by (I said 1 week, she said no problem) had me write my name and number on the receipt and sent me on my way. The day before I was supposed to pick up the outfit (Thursday) I called just to make sure it was going to be ready. Maria answered the phone and quickly said 'it's not ready honey! You are supposed to pickup tomorrow!' And I said yes I am just making sure, I will be there tomorrow. The next day (Friday) I leave work on my lunch break to go pick up my outfit that I needed to wear that night for an event. Pickup attempt #1: When I arrive at her shop she tells me it's not ready. I was disappointed but let it go since nothing was going to change the fact that it wasn't ready and I needed to immediately shift focus on finding something else to wear that night. We left off I would come back the following week to pick it up. Pickup attempt #2: the following week on Wednesday I come to the shop to pick up. Again my outfit is not ready. She brings it over and explains the cut/fabric is tricky and am I sure I want her to hem it. I ask if I should just leave it as is and she assures me she can do it but wanted to talk to me about it first. (My issue here is why didn't she call me to explain this instead of wasting my gas?? Why wasn't this brought up the first time I came to be measured, or the first time I came to pickup?) again I let it go and she assures me it will be ready for Saturday at 12pm sharp. Saturday comes and I have an unexpected urgency where I can't make the 12pm pickup time. I call Maria at 10am to explain I either need to come now or next week. She tells me my outfit is not ready now but to come next week (at this point I'm not sure why my hems STILL aren't done??? The outfit should be ready to go at this point not holding off until an hour before I'm supposed to pickup????) Pickup Attempt #3: the following week on Thursday I arrive to the shop to pickup. She looks at me cheerful and asks what I need. When I explain im picking up the two piece pantsuit her face falls... "No. Not ready". Now I'm angry. What do you mean it's not ready?? She starts saying that I was supposed to call her prior to picking up. That it's all measured and ready to be run through the machine. I said I know it's ready to be run through the machine it's been ready to be hemmed since I dropped it off 3 weeks ago! If it wasn't going to be ready why haven't you called me any of these times to let me know before I waste my gas driving here?? This is my third time driving here for something that's not ready, this is not right! She just looks at me without saying a word and then finally asks if I want to take the clothing or I can come back in one hour to pick them up. I inform her I'm not coming back AGAIN and that I will just take my clothing as is. Maria does good work but I believe there is a series lack of organization and communication. It's not professional. A customer should never show up 3 times without a single phone call expressing an issue with commitment dates. My clothing seemed to be treated sub par to the other gowns that kept getting prioritized ahead of my outfit. No other time did I have to 'call first' before she would start working on my item. Most disappointing of all was not once did she apologize to me for wasting my gas, taking time away from work, or missing the original deadline where I had to find a new outfit to wear hours before the event I had! Maybe the one pantsuit was chump change to her but the years worth of business I would have continued to use her for should matter. I will not be back.
