My daughter is having planning a destination in only two weeks.....we went directly to David's Bridal as our first choice. When we entered the store we were greeted immediately......with a smile and consideration......Akina was assigned to assist us and she was on point, informed, kind and professional. With her help within 2 hours we were able to assemble everything my daughter needed for her special day to make her feel prepared and beautiful. Akina followed my requests, subtly came up with suggestions, supplies us with several styles of gowns to choose from. The gown my daughter and I agreed on is (strapless simple yet gorgeous DB Studio), Betsy Johnson shoes, costume earrings and necklace set, flowing 6 foot veil and located stunning diamond decorative hair pins to complete her disguised elegant look. Guests were stopping admiring and complimenting my daughter in "her" wedding gown.... we then looked at each other and at that moment realized, this is the one! This davids bridal is amazing! Im not sure why they have so many bad reviews because the service here is incredible. I came in around 8 pm to try to find a mother of the bride dress for my mother. I want her to be my something blue and we were trying to find the perfect dress. The sales lady Maryam was so patient and nice with my mom. She found many dresses in her size and gave us so many options to chose from. Eventually, my mom found the perfect dress for her in blue that fit her body. The Lake grove location is filled with workers who simply do not care to help. You are told appointments in advance are needed but even when you make an appointment, the stylist you are assigned to has multiple other customers. The manager Lisa talks to you as if you are a child. Today even though we had an appointment, the first 30minutes they changed the stylist 2xs. The stylist would go to grab another dress and never come back, only to find she didn't go get another dress, but she started helping someone else. Then when trying to size and purchase the dress, they gave us another girl to work with. Then they act like they don't understand why we are upset. I fully understand why this is the only location on long island and why many are closes. You are better off sizing yourself at home and ordering online for dresses. During such a special time in my life, the experience of Davids Bridal was horrible, and I don't recommend this location at all. The store manager Lisa acts as if you need them and is very condescending. read more

I had a terrible experience at David's Bridal. I understand now why they only have 3.3 stars, I would give -10 stars if I could. First of all, the sales associate "helping" was 10 minutes late. I informed her that I was very open minded and wanted to try on anything as long as it was fitted. I showed her a dresse I liked which she pulled for me to try on and then she pulled two others. I didn't like the two she pulled and when I tried on the dress I liked I simply asked if there was anything similar to this dress in the store. She says there are no variations and that everything else similar was discontinued. My friend then pulled a variation of that dress which the sales associate said did not exist. She did absolutely nothing during my appointment. I had to wait forever for her to zip up the dress, sometimes having to start myself because she was never around. I showed her a photo of a dress I really liked from my appointment somewhere else to give her inspiration and ideas... still emphasizing im open to anything and she basically just kicked myself and my friends and family I went with and told me to go back because ive already picked a dress.... obviously that was not the case at all. I went to an appointment after that and picked a dress from the last appt I had... This David's Bridal appointment showed me what absolute garbage trash this place is and what a terrible experience truly is which made my last appointment in an actual boutique so much better. I cannot emphasize enough how horrible this experience was. The consultant literally did absolutely nothing and cut my hour appointment to only 20 minutes. I believe her name was Anikka or something along those lines. She only cared about helping others it seemed and was trash talking other brides that she has worked with before. She had a gold tooth if that helps any.... My family and I are still talking about it and are so dumbfounded by how terrible that experience was. Thank god for the last boutique I went to for saving the day and undoing the crap from David's Bridal. I realize I sound quite terrible but when you get such low garbage service I feel it's important that I write a review fully painting the picture so no one else has to go through the same terrible service. read more

i would not suggest getting your alterations done at David's Bridal. Our first time we were there for over an hour. 2 people actually worked on and pinned the dress. There were some appliqués that were damaged, illusion across the chest needed to be replaced and shoulders needed to be lifted as well as the back taken in and bustle put on. The bill was 335$. Went for the 2nd fitting and all that was completed was the insert of cups, the appliqué placement and the bustle. I did get the manager, who was less than pleasant, and she refused to show me the original receipt from the first fitting. then recharged us another $255 with the explanation of "alterations are expensive". The seamstress is a scammer. read more

My daughter went in to pick up her dress after the alteration. They initially could not find the dress in the back. With two weeks left till the wedding, the last thing you want to tell a bride is that they lost your dress. When they finally found it and brought it out, it had three smear stains on the top. The staff said they will take care of it but with the wedding so near, it's cutting it close. The staff was also very casually dressed. They need to watch old reruns of "say yes to the dress" in order to look and act the part. Horrible training by management for letting their staff to treat customers that way. read more

My wife bought her wedding dress here. We do NOT recommend using David's bridal! Let's start here: This was a simple hem and add buttons to bustle the dress. Nothing was being taken in, nothing taken out, nothing added and nothing taken off the dress. She was told that they need 4 weeks to do any alterations to the dress. Our wedding date is October 26th 2024. She brought her dress to David's bridal on September 21st 2024 and was told it will be ready to pick up October 19th 2024, exactly 1 week before our wedding. To start off they had charged her 2 additional rush fees even though she had brought the dress in with plenty of time (the pick up date was exactly 4 weeks after she had dropped it off). That was before she had even left the dress there on sept. 21st. October 19th comes around and her appointment to pick up the dress was at 11:30am. Keep in mind that we live 1 hour from this location. At 11:24 am (only 6 mins. before the appointment that had been set up 4 weeks prior!) they had called MY phone(not my wife's) and explained that the dress was not ready and they needed more time. Completely unacceptable. First that they had called me and not my wife. Second that they had called only a mere 6 minutes before the scheduled appointment. I had to call my wife who was only a few minutes from pulling into David's bridal parking lot and explain that they had called me and said it was not ready. She proceeded to go inside and speak to them in person and explain that they had called the wrong number and that she did not have any other day to come back as she is running her own business and has more wedding details that needed to be taken care of. So they had told her to come back around 4:30 -5:00pm. After an hour long drive home she decided to call them just to be sure that it was getting both the hem and buttons for the bustle done, she said yes and then proceeded to ask her to push it back another hour and come back between 5:30-6:00pm. 5 pm rolls around and she calls them to be sure that it is either ready or will be ready by the time she gets there as it is an hour drive and she did not want to get there to wait around for them to finish. They said "yes it is ready to be picked up." Another hour in the car and she finally has the chance to put the dress on to make sure everything was good. As my wife was observing the dress she noticed that there are pins still in the dress, they had forgotten to sew an entire section, so they dress wasn't even done and we had to sit there and wait for them to sew up the last section. Between the miscommunication and them not having the dress anywhere near done in the 4 weeks they had it, it seems like they hadn't even touched the dress until the day of pick up. It had seemed as if they had forgotten it in a back corner until they saw they had an appointment for pick up and then tried to scramble to come up with excuses as to why it wasn't done. All in all they dropped the ball and then tried to play it off as if they hadn't. The manager did refund the $100 in rush fees ( that shouldn't have been charged in the first place) and then also refunded an extra $150; only a partial refund of the simple alterations, but with all the aggravation and chaos it cause in our day a full refund should have been issued, especially because it was entirely their fault. After all of this we would never recommend David's bridal to anyone. David's bridal you have failed us... read more

After a horrible experience at a different location, I can't say enough good things about the store manager, Lisa and the alterations manager, Amanda. My sister and I needed bridesmaids dresses on a very short time table. Lisa worked with our consultant (who was also excellent but her name escapes me) to ensure we both got dresses we felt good in, were available (with time for alterations) and in the correct color. We had a hiccup with some alterations but ultimately Lisa and Amanda worked together and worked with us to ensure we left happy and with our dresses in hand in time for the wedding. They both worked hard and with a good attitude to find a solution to the problem. I'm grateful for their help, professionalism and dedication throughout this process. 1 star is more than deserved. Customer service is beyond terrible. Managers exact words were buyers remorse. They don't stand behind their merchandise nor their return policy. I purchased a dress in my home state. I returned it a few days later after I noticed damage. They reordered the dress and had it sent to my sisters. That dress was damaged so I returned it within 2 days and they wouldn' honor the return because the original purchase was more than 7 days. The dress was not in my possession for a total of 7 days. If I could give this place less than 1 stars I would - I went in for my bridal fitting and was met by a disgruntled seamstress named DAHLIA - as the bride and sheer buying an expensive dress form David's bridal I was hoping for a little more grace. Not to mention every dressing room was dirty and filled with garbage. I had recently lost weight and when trying the dress on I was hoping to have it taken in but DAHLIA continued to tell me how it was supposed to fit big???? And didn't know what she was supposed to be altering DAHLIA barely spoke English so understanding what she was saying was a challenge. She continued to be nasty the entire time telling me she wouldn't alter my dress until we got the manager At that point the manger had me try on the smaller size and put an order in to swap the dress completely. With not much time to spare, I called David's bridal and was lucky enough to get Valerie!! She put me on hold and looked through the store to find what dresses they had in the color and size I needed. When she came back she told me she found not ONE but TWO perfect dresses. The fact that she went above and beyond looking though the store and still giving me options this close to the date shows how great of an employee you have there! After having read some of the reviews I was concerned, especially since I've purchased my wedding dress as well as my daughter's sweet 16 dress here years ago. But, everything went splendidly!!! I was unable to get the dress I wanted originally as it would not be delivered in time but was provided another option very similar to what I wanted. Same color too!!!! So happy and a really nice experience. Even called my friend who FaceTimed throughout the entire process with my helper held the phone. Lol. So nice. I will be back there soon. I was never a big fan about David's Bridal. However, I was in need of a Dress and I went to other stores but they didn't have the look that I was going for. I went online and made an appointment with a stylist. When I arrived I meet with my stylist Samantha. I told her the look I was going for and she lead me in the right direction. I was waiting for her to pick out some dresses and she said you pick out a dress first then based on what you pick I can tell what your into. I was very impressed with Samantha. She picked out 2 dresses that I actually liked. She was awesome, friendly, funny and had style. What I loved most about Sam was that she didn't force me to buy something, or made me feel rushed. The next day I called to make an appointment for another fitting and I was put on hold for over 23 min. I hung up and called back and once again someone said. Can I put you on a brief hold I'm dealing with a customer, and again that hold was longer then 23 min. At that point I just drove to the location and made an appointment. Which was a real inconvenience. Another policy that I'm not to keen on was the store policy. What ever you buy in the store is final sale, but if you buy it online you can return it. I was under the impression that all David's Bridal open at the same time on Sundays, but that isn't the case. LG doesn't open until 12 on Sundays. We had a 12:30 appointment for flower girl dresses. I never leave any negative reviews , I usually just say nothing if I've had a bad experience, but I know there are probably a lot of people going through the same thing I am. Basically, I was in a wedding that had to be postponed due to the coronavirus. It's been postponed to next year but, the bride decided to do a destination wedding that unfortunately I'm unable to attend. I took the bridesmaid's dress I purchased to David's bridal, knowing that a refund was not likely .. but figuring they'd give me store credit or at the minimum let me do an exchange. I know his isn't typical of them, or probably any bridal store, but I honestly thought considering the state of the world and how everything has been turned upside down they would help people out a bit. I was told they can do absolutely nothing for me. No refund, no credit, no exchange. Something about the bride not postponing her date to 2021 within the allotted time they needed her to for people to receive store credit? I don't understand what that time frame could have been considering she was due to get married in September and postponed in June. Anyway, this really made me upset and I won't be using David's bridal for my wedding at all in 2022. read more

I hope to come back and edit this review up to a 5-star rating if my first fitting and continued wedding dress experience improves. So far, it's been lackluster. I purchased a wedding dress (and walked in without an appointment but was still treated like royalty) in December. I was told it would be ready in late April. I live in California and am having a wedding in New York as my entire family is there. I made the associate I was working with very aware of this and that my mom would be picking it up. I had asked them to contact her when it arrived, they didn't. They contacted me instead, over two months before I was expecting the dress. Amazing turnaround time, minus the fact I was rudely demanded by whom ever called me to pick up the dress in a three day window. I reminded them I can't pick it up and my mother had to. She happened to be ill with the flu that time and I wasn't sure she would be able to pick it up. They extended it to a week, reluctantly. I am impressed with the timing, but if you are going to be so far off from your estimate, you need to offer a larger pick up window. Then my mother goes to pick up the dress and asks to see the sash that I had already ordered and paid for in December. They claimed I must've come in and picked it up. From California. Even though I only found out the dress arrived three days ago... So my mom insisted that was impossible and they had to go about reordering the sash, adding another two months wait, and delivering it to my mother's house. I have no problem dealing with waiting since my wedding date won't change, but to accuse my of picking something up already and having no system for tracking that is ridiculous. Also, why would I pick up a sash and leave the dress... I don't like the way this is being handled so far. That sash makes the dress work for me and without it, I just won't feel the same about it. My entire experience here was absolutely wonderful. Brianna Matarese was to thank for it all. She was extremely sweet and helpful and not pushy in the slightest bit. I know some people work off of sales in stores like this so they tend to be pushy but I did not get that vibe from her at all. She kept me from becoming a bridezilla and for that I am thankful. SIZING WARNING* Overall my experience wasn't bad. I went with a group of bridesmaids to order dresses a few months ago. The staff was friendly and helpful but when we were measured for the dresses they told us all we needed a size much larger than expected. We were all confused because the sample dresses in our size fit us well but they said they "stretch" from frequent use. I'm a size 4, I was told I needed a size 10, I ordered a size 6, and when it arrived at my house it was too loose. Maybe ordering a size larger is a safe decision but it ultimately costs more when you need the alterations... perhaps it was this individual dress company that misrepresents sizes but maybe do some research on sizing outside of what the staff says before ordering a dress and needing to shell out more money on alterations! read more
