It was disheartening to see such blatant judgement assuming based on how I was dressed. If you're aware of the Beacon Food Mart, it's tucked behind it in a very small strip within a neighborhood. I stopped in with my toddler for the 3rd Birthday Celebration. They had open tie dye, chalk art, a live DJ, food truck and vendors. Although the celebration isn't every day, you can still find most of these activities throughout the week. Open Tie Dye is posted on their Facebook page. $15 if you buy one of their shirts, $10 if you bring your own. You get to choose what design you want and they'll help you fold it. It is then up to you to put your colors on! Once completed, they send your shirt home to set for 24 hours. Follow their instructions and you have a cute new one of a kind shirt! I like that they soak the shirts beforehand in a special mix that opens the pores of the shirt for dye. Thank you for the lesson!!! The ladies helping out are lovely! They also have ready to purchase clothes ranging from baby onesies to adults. Also, draperies, cloths, crocheted items, magnets, body care. It's a small shop with a lot of personality. They were very attentive without being pushy at all. I love how inclusive the sizing is in the store, as a thick girl on bottom with a small bust it's often hard for me to find modest and flattering fits, but I found 4 outfits in my first try!! As the clothing in my arms grew, an associate came and offered to start a room for me. I was helped by 2 sales associates who continually checked up on me and helped me find the sizes I needed. When it came to check out, I asked if they would honor the 60% off sale that I saw online. They couldn't do that, but Kelsey helped me get a coupon for an additional 20% off of the original 50% off everything. I ended up walking away with 10 items for just over $200! What a steal! I was recently perusing the Kenwood store and suddenly fell in love with a pair of shoes. Yes,…read moreladies, you know how it happens. All of a sudden you see a pair of shoes and you just have to have them. I tried to get several sales associates' attention to see if they had them in my size, yet no one seemed to want to help me (hence, docking one star). It may have just been my perception, but the sales associates seemed to be more interested in helping the older customers than me (my attire of yoga pants and a sweatshirt probably didn't exude money). If they were crazy busy, I'd understand- but that didn't seem to be the case. Finally, a younger, sweet employee said she could help me. I wish I remembered her full name, I just remember that it started with an H. Of course, they didn't have any shoes left in my size in the store. She searched online and the surrounding stores, with no luck. Saddened, I figured it just wasn't meant to be. This awesome sales associate then went above and beyond by calling corporate. She said they can search all stores in the country for my size. Cha-ching! A store in Virginia had the last pair in the country in my size. She was able to get them shipped to me free of charge- and allowed me to use my $20 off a purchase of $80 or more coupon! I left an incredibly satisfied customer. I've already worn my shoes twice :).

The dress has not been worn nor tags removed. There was not even an offer for exchange. It was simply "I'm sorry" followed by blank stare. Was the store correct by policy, yes. Was the policy in the best interest of satisfying future returning customers, no. The good news is that there are so many good stores in Kenwood mall that we don't have to go far to make up for the removal of this store from our target shopping locations.
