Really good food and great service for our large party. We called ahead for a party of 25 and they had no problem accommodating... even let us split the check 5 ways (by family). I ordered two chile Rellenos, no rice extra beans. Wow, it was so sad, the sauce was a gray green color and watery, very little refried beans and top with cheddar cheese mix.... Not queso. First of all the food is wonderful. My boyfriend and I have been there 3 times. The first time, we had great customer service and the waitress went over and beyond. The next two times one waitress had a bad attitude and today we went the waitress was SO SLOW with their service. We watched people who got there after us, leave before us, who had the same waitress. Also the place didn't turn on their air conditioner and it's 92 degrees outside. I don't want to assume they are prejudice toward interracial couples but I'll say that they need a attitude adjustment or learn how to be better waitresses. We will not be going back. read more

Me and my S/O have been here numerous times and always leave satisfied. Service is great and the food is even better. All the staff are friendly and literally "service with a smile". Not once have I walked in this place feeling unwelcome. Their salsa that's served with the chips is incredible, trust me. Such an amazing spot for great taste Mexican food. I love their fresh salsa and chips they give you as soon as you arrive. The hospitality is always polite and nice. I love their enchiladas as well. The only thing I would consider them changing are maybe the cups and utensils they use. The forks and spoons seem to be a little old and that sometimes can cause them to not look or get as clean as they should. The cups just need to be updated and new ones should be used. Maybe it's just my OCD but I honestly pay attention to things like that. Just a bit of advice for the owners. Other then that, really good place and food! read more

We were so excited to try the food here. We placed an order to go and when we got home we were Very disappointed when we opened up the boxes. We selected the Carna Asada meal which just came with a piece of meat, rice and french fries. There was no grilled peppers or onions like all the other traditional taqueria. The meat was seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning which is not an authentic way to season Mexican food. The horchata tasted rancid. the Arnold Palmer tasted very synthetic. After paying $80 for this meal it was absolutely not worth the amount. I could spend $80 at the grocery store and feed my family for the week with better quality food. We will definitely not ever be going back to this place. Lesson to us to always ask what is included with the meal and see what seasoning is used and make sure the horchata is fresh. read more

I have come here many times as this is my familys "go to" for mexican food in Tracy. 2 weeks ago we waited an hour for a to go order we were told would take 20 minutes. This past Sunday we ordered for pickup and were told it would be 35 minutes. When we arrived after 40 minutes, we were told it would be another 10. After an hour and 15 minutes we were told it would be right out, 15 minutes later our order was ready. When we got it home, the food was cold and the combos that include tacos were missing their tacos. For waiting an hour and a half, we should have been compensated in some way but were told "do you want to just cancel your order and get a refund?" Why would i wait an hour to just leave empty handed??? Between the wait and missing food, I'm highly disappointed and may have to start going elsewhere. Today I ordered chicken mole and I felt like the chicken thighs were under cooked and I actually prefer chicken breasts with mole which is the way it comes at any other Mexican restaurant I've been to. I immediately asked if i could have chicken breasts before even touching my food the waitress went back to the kitchen and came back and said they will remake my plate but I will have to pay for a 2nd meal. I haven't been here in about 5 years, but we were in Tracy so we decided to have dinner here. I remember their pescado frito(fried whole fish) was really good, so I decided to order the version with a garlic sauce. What I got served was a semi warm fish covered with salty garlic gravy slop. It was absolutely covered with this sauce. I had about 3 bites of it before I signaled our waitress. I told her that it tasted like I was eating pure garlic butter, on top of the fact that my fish food did not taste fresh. She goes back to the kitchen and comes back to tell me that they are going to prepare a fresh one without the garlic sauce, but they are going to CHARGE ME HALF of the other one because I ATE HALF. I sat there dumbfounded as I got my new fish and ate. Never got asked for a refill on my soda in 40 minutes. Just got handed my check and they are now telling me that they are only changing me for the one entree. No apology. Stay away from here. read more

My second time here brought the wife this time and it was a full house this place is a banquet hall as well and Friday they had a mariachi band that was different hard to communicate with your date but it was different. My family lives in San Jose and when we visit my parents who live in Tracy, this is one of the restaurants we go to. For this evening they accommodated our party of twelve (adults and kids) with two birthday celebrants. The waitress was nice and extremely quick to take our drink order followed by our food order for our big group. She checked on us several times throughout our dining. I ordered the Carne Asada con Tampiqueña and I finished the entire plate which included rice, beans, and tortilla. The ribeye steak was really flavorful and went well with a Tecate and Corralejo Anejo. Overall a nice dining experience for the family. My husband and I had a nice and relaxing meal here last Sunday.. There was a short wait around 3pm which we didn't mind. I loved that all the servers were helping each other out. I don't see that very often. We had one of the seafood cocktails and it was delicious. Their salsa is tasty. I had the whole fried fish and a mango margarita. Excellent!. I've been here twice. I got the chicken caldo the first time & it was great! This time I ordered the chicken red enchiladas. I enjoyed it... I'll definitely come back again. My husband likes the fact that the menu has many different options to choose from. From typical Mexican food to mariscos. Besides the food being great... the waiter we got was very friendly! She kept checking in on us & that's much appreciated. The only thing I do recommend is the waiting time... we did wait for awhile however it was during Fourth of July weekend so perhaps less cooks compare to a regular Saturday. Jorge's falls into the sit-down genre of Mexican food joints, so don't expect a divey and cheap taqueria experience. Instead, take a sit, chill, try an excellently huge Michelada with mixed with Modelo Especial (although you can pick other beers, but why?) The food options on the menu are extensive, but a good bet is always the combo (taco, enchilada, relleno, burrito) with beans and rice. As this place specializes in seafood, you could also take a fish or try what I had, the shrimp ceviche tostada. It was excellent. After years of driving by without stopping, we finally made time to try out El Tapatio. Sadly, we probably should have kept going towards one of the city's numerous taquerias. First strike - chips were neither hot nor fresh-tasting. Huge red flag for any mexican place, especially considering the salsa that came with it tasted like nothing but cilantro. Second strike - I had the carne asada tacos - the meat alternated between tough and fatty, and once again was not fresh-tasting. The taco shells were fresh made however, which I appreciate. Third strike - other party members had burritos that were basically just rice. I'd expect that from a cheap taqueria, but not from an actual sit-down restaurant. The restaurant in general felt very old, with holes in our chairs that looked like they predated my birth. All-in-all, one and done. read more

Now might I add my salsa bowls never went empty.. not sure if it's witchcraft or security cameras, but the server was on it. I ordered a standard taco burrito combo. Shredded beef taco - kind of a fancy beef taco, but not too fancy as to lose it's roots. Beef was what I would expect on a crunchy taco at any reputable Mexican joint, but the addition of guac and sour cream on a bed lettuce with plenty of shredded cheese blanketing the before mentioned elements really elevated this taco to something you'd custom order, yet this was the out of the factory stock model! Touché Jorge, well played. Chile Verde Burrito- now this lil wrapped up morsel wasn't exactly little, wouldn't say huge, but bigger than I was expecting for a combo plate burrito. Solid construction, I like to pick my burritos up with my hands and eat it how it was invented to be eaten, NOT WITH KNIFE AND FORK, and it held it's composure for 90% of the devouring. Tender pork chunks soaked in a mild Chile Verde sauce with the perfect amount if cheese (I like a lot of cheese) mingling with the beans and rice, made each bite a treat. Jorge's El Tapitio was reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere for taco/burrito consumption. Service was on their game the night i stumbled upon this gem and probably isn't a fluke.
