Terrible costumer service. My car was towed last month (my fault) after picking up my car I noticed my driver side door had damage to it. The door does not close properly anymore so it rattles and you can hear the wind noise a lot as if the window was open while driving. They scratched my lock handle also. I tried emailing them but doubt their systems even work. I also called and a rude receptionist answered with attitude. This mental establishment wrongfully towed my vehicle & when I went to go pick it up there was a nail in my right front tire. The staff is just doing their job but they're entirely stupid on top of that & act like putting a napkin on the wholes that allow you to hear each other through the glass is gonna help prevent covid. The person who answered the phone was less than professional. She answered the phone with a simple " Hello?" When I call a company I expect to hear the company name somewhere in the greeting like simply saying " Jon's Towing.." or "Hello, this is Jon's towing.." etc. Oh well. So she took down my information and said that the driver would be at location in about 20 min. The driver showed up just under 30 min was a freaking miracle after I read the slip that the lady had given him. I was in Ralph's parking lot. She put down the street addy and Ral. That's it. Ralph's is in a strip mall so he was wondering what and where Ral was. Poor guy. But he was supper friendly and funny. Next. The lady had not asked if my Escalade was AWD or not. It is. To top it off I was calling a tow truck because the differential was messing up, and you can not tow the truck by only one end in an AWD situation without using the differentials which would cause more damage to them. Luckily he had these wheeled extensions he could use since he had not brought the flat beds since she failed to mention this fact on the work-slip. We got it to the mechanics and the tow guy was very patient while we got everything worked out there with parking and such. I really liked the service I got from this company despite the total ignorance from the secretary and all her miss-communications to the drivers. So Four starts until she learns her job or is replaced. Though I do recommend this company if you need help towing your vehicle. read more

My friend parked in one of the guest spots in front of my apartment building for 20 minutes to bring by groceries (we are in the middle of coronavirus quarantine) and their car was towed. It's not on red. We went to Jon's towing and asked how that was possible and they said somebody called to have it towed. I called apartment manager and she said they didn't call and weren't even physically at the building when the car was towed. As a note, we weren't in somebody's spot. This means that Jon's is driving around and randomly towing during this coronavirus quarantine. It cost $400 to get the car back as it was "after hours". The car was only in their possession for 10 minutes before we got there and they refused to give it back despite all of these information without paying the $400. read more

Unethical business practice! My vehicle was towed from a private complex and that same evening it was towed, one of Jon's towers returned to the complex and was putting up signage in order to cover up their UNFAIR practices. I watched in disbelief as I went to return to my vehicle and found that it was gone. Because the tower returned to the garage (to put up signs), he gave me a business card to call and retrieve my vehicle. The person on the other line claimed that there was no one working at the lot to release my vehicle and purposefully made me wait until it was the next business day to release it! I felt that I was lied to because they clearly operate after normal business hours to release vehicles and they intentionally decided to PROLONG the vehicle recovery process. Upon going to claim my vehicle the next business day (it was past midnight) the area was dark and desolate. I felt unsafe and was mistreated by the staff. The person that released my vehicle was 1) the same tower who towed my vehicle; 2) the tower that returned to the complex after he towed my vehicle to put up signage; 3) the tower who returned to the storage lot after midnight to release the vehicle to me!!! Jon's Towing provided POOR customer service. They were DISCOURTEOUS; they DELAYED the vehicle retrieval process (called them 4 times to try to retrieve my vehicle); they were DIFFICULT to work with; and they showed LOW moral character. read more

The most inconsiderate tow company ever. It's been difficult with this pandemic crisis effecting everyone, so I hope NO one ever encountered this company. My vehicle was towed from the property that I live in! I never really park in the stalls, but they are for the tenants of the complex. Apparently, even though you live there, there's no parking between the hours of 8 am until 12 noon, I failed to pay attention to that. I parked in one of the stalls and the time frame was between 11:30 or 11:45, also there was another car parked in one of the stalls. I was towed, but the other car, which the tow truck had to drive past, ONLY towed my car! Why is that? My car was towed 15 miles and on their lot 3 hours, I was charged $291.00. My car was the only one on the lot with out dust, which I STRONGLY believe that the company is trying to make up for loss revenue. I'm lucky to still be working, but I also take care of my mother, who has a long list of health issues, I parked there for a minute to get to my mother. I also was under the impression that the parking enforcement was extended to give people a break. I was told it didn't apply to private property, where I live! I just gave AAA a bad review because for all the money I spend paying for roadside assistance, I needed their help when I was stuck in the middle of the road and they wanted to charge me a arm and a leg becuase I didn't have the valid card with me really ????? I was in a accident and the police Officer was demanding me to move my car becuase I was "Blocking the roadway" and he said if I don't move it, he will move it for me. They came so fast and automatically starting hooking up my car, the driver even told the Officer to shut up and that he will move my car soon. I only see 1 difference in a company that does not work with AAA and one that does, Jon's towing was very helpful and gave me that sence of mind that they will help me through this nightmare. AAA seemed like they didn't care and that it was my responsibility like " your on your own, we can help you". Knowing that Jons towking is there for the customer that thry just spoke to for yhe first time makes me think what all these reviews are actually about??? Don't park where your not allowed. Risking parking somewhere that says you can't will result in your car being towed...... I mean is that a secret? Having to pay becuase you thought you were smart and could get away is a FAIL on your end not anyone else. If I could give a negative star- I would. This towing company uses bate and switch pricing. They towed our car and when we called to ask about pricing to pick up that evening vs. in the morning we were told it would be $403.50 that night or $291.00 in the morning because it was after hours (10:30 pm). We naturally decided to pick up car in the morning as it was less money. We also called in the morning to double check on the pricing and it was confirmed. When we got to the yard in Sun Valley at 10:30 am- the price went up to $403.50. Reason- Saturday is considered "after hours". First of all- there are no signs stating the hours of operation- so they can just make up whatever they want. There were 3 employees standing there and 1 on dispatch and who knows how many in the field....pretty heavily staffed for after hours. Secondly, we were quoted $291.00 twice. My experience with Jon's Towing was a positive one , my wife's car broke down on the 5 freeway in Sun Valley after dark , I called AAA to have her towed home however they informed that it was going to take 1 hour . I looked on Yelp to see if there was a towing company near by , I called Jon's Towing and spoke the owner that informed me they could be there in 15 minutes . To my surprise the tow truck was there in what seemed like 5 minutes , the driver was helpful and got my wife & her car home safely . I saw some of the other reviews however I guess when your car gets towed you feel inconvenienced as well as upset which might explain the negative reviews . I have never had my car towed however I don't park places that are posted tow zones which just seems like common sense . read more

I'm surprised they even have two and a half stars, if I could rate this place lower I would. It's rare for me to leave a yelp rating but after experiencing the service at this place, I needed to warn the future customers. After they towed my car and were removing my car from their truck they damaged the front of the bumper, my bumper was cracked in three places, by my left light, the lower bumper and on my grill. Even though no one expects getting your car towed to be a good experience, this place is the worst. They towed one of my family members cars after business hours. When I called, a guy picked up the phone and asked me a few questions and provides me with the address. We drive over immediately after I hung up the phone and pull up to what looks like a chop shop with a 12 foot metal gate with signs indicating that no one is allowed on the premises without permission. This family member has had his vehicle towed in the past and is familiar with his rights. I had to call the place again and the same guy I spoke to on the phone come to this window in the gate for service. He come they take my cousin's credit card and driver's license and close the window in the 12 foot gate. Twenty five minutes later he come back and hands my family member his receipt, then tells him to give him his car keys. My family member refuses because TOW TRUCK COMPANIES HAVE NO RIGHT TO ENTER YOUR VEHICLE WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION!!!!! He asks for permission to be escorted to his car and the guy (same 1 answering the phone) says they will have to tow it out to him. Another taller much FATTER and ANGRY male comes to the window, and says to my family member that they need his keys to get the vehicle off the lot. Since the got the vehicle on the lot without the keys, that was a lie. My family member refuses and then he yells "I have all night" and slams the window shut. We have already paid for the vehicle and they are refusing to give permission to enter the premises as their sign suggested is acceptable. We call the local police and they tell us that we need an officer sent over, so they are send one. We called the towing company again and tell them that the police are on their way over. They decided to change their minds and open the gate almost immediately and allow my family member to get his vehicle. I'm not sure of why they are so afraid of the police but I will be reporting this company to the better business bureau as well. read more

Their prices are ridiculous and they go around driving in communities waiting on innocent people who work hard for their money to make a profit off of them. So my car got towed by these guys and had to go get it from them but when we got there, there was no one aroud so we waited for about 20 minutes not joking for someone the show up. 20 minutes later some guy comes and tells us what we need in a rude tone so we explain that we want to get the car back so we give him the pinkslip and wait for him and he comes back and says he cant give me my car because its not registered to my name even though my name and signature on the pinkslip (because i had just bought it). So we ask for the manager and he says the same thing but also says i need registration papers wich is some bs because the pinkslip says im the new owner and has my name. So we ask him how much will it cost to stay another day and the price goes up $100 (thats why he doesn't want to give me my car) so instead of calling the cops we went to get it registered and came back to pay the fine. Once we came back they took like 10 minuets to show up at the front desk so i had to call them and they showed up. So we paid the fine and waited for them to bring out the car. We waited another 30 minutes so we asked what was taking so long and they said they were moving cars which is a lie because i saw my car in the security cameras with not one car around it and while we waited so finally i got my car and the put their oily hands all over it (its a white car) and i had to wash it off. So this whole experience was bad should've only taken a few minutes but took about 2 hours these guys are thieves and all the good reviews about these guys are fake! read more

Oh my gosh.... Seriously.... Why is the guy that works on the yard SUCK A DICK? My friends car got towed from my condo community last night around 230am. His niece is the registered owner and they wouldnt start the process of releasing the vehicle without the registration paperwork, which is INSIDE THE VEHICLE (of course). She arrived here BEFORE 5pm. I drove my friend here (and go figure...it's raining). We arrived at 5:06pm. The DICK thats working the yard tacked on another $90 for "after hours release" EVEN THOUGH THE REGISTERED OWNER WAS HERE BEFORE 5pm. Tow yards have your vehicle so they have you by the balls... and thats wrong that they are able to manipulate that situation and charge higher fees for ridiculous reasons.... This place is a fraud. These positive reviews are fake. On the day I was unlawfully towed, I arrived to my grandmother's residence a little after 4pm and I was towed 37 minutes later by Jon's Towing for no lawful reason. I retrieved my vehicle about 1 hour later from the tow yard and they demanded $300 for it!. I did not give my consent for this tow or for these exorbitant charges and was met with a hostile, argumentative staff who refused to give me my car unless I paid whatever they hand wrote on the receipt. They threatened to keep my car over night and charge me more money if I didn't sign the receipt. Ostensibly, my property was held hostage and I cannot be held liable for these charges. This disreputable tow yard isn't allowed to collude with a tenant of the apartment, towing cars with impunity for mutual financial gain. They towed my car unlawfully from a private residence while I was parked in VISITOR parking. I have pictures of my car, the parking site, the sign that clearly says NO TENANT PARKING, VISITORS ONLY. They refuse to divulge who supposedly called to get my car towed or why they towed it!!! They have been rude ana totally uncooperative. I'm outraged with their total lack of accountability and assistance. Now I have no choice but to contact BBB, my credit card, consumer reports and Yelp to address my grievance. I demand a full refund of the ridiculous fee of $304 that they charged me and I will pursue the matter civilly if they continue to evade calls and not issue a full refund. read more

My vehicle was towed, and I do not contest that. Because it is my fault. I picked up my vehicle the next day and just want to go home because of the stress and their location is scary. Not much street lights, and very ghetto. As soon as i got home i noticed that there were some scratch that was made in my vehicle and called them. They gave me the run around and phone hang up. Yesterday June 1st you received a request from an apartment complex that you service to remove a vehicle without parking tags around 2:30 am. The address for this property - Reseda, CA 91335. While removing the vehicle your tow truck severely damaged my silver Nissan Sentra. I took photos and notified my apartment manager (- & -) who also took photos. They explained that the tow truck had to move another vehicle in order to tow the car parked illegally in our gated parking lot. There are tire marks that prove during the process your tow truck hit my car leaving a noticeable dent above the front right tire on the body of the vehicle. I called the police to have a police report created. The police called your business to see if this could be resolved. Over the phone your employee said that you keep video on all of your trucks and that I could come to your Sun Valley location to see the video and show my photos so that I could file a claim. I came to the location and the person there was very dismissive of me. They looked at one photo and came to the conclusion that their truck was not responsible for the damage. They would not file the claim or let me see the video footage from the truck. I returned to the same police officer to explain how your business treated me and helped me file the report after examining the photos and the vehicle. Since you refuse to cooperate and to resolve this issue professionally I will get a detective involved to view the video or take you to small claims court to recover the cost of damages and time I missed at work and commuting back and forth between you and the police station in Reseda. I'm also posting this entire paragraph on Yelp and reporting you to the Better Business Bureau. You are a dishonest company. read more

We had an issue where multiple cars were inaccurately towed from my company and during this ordeal I had to be reminded of the scum side of life. These are the people you warn your children about. I recommend anyone to complain to the BBB and to communicate with the local police. They have to be stopped in regards to their intimidation tactics and disregard for human decency and respect. I bought a 2011 corvette and to say I am a fanatic about keeping it in pristine condition, is an understatement. Two weeks after I got it, my ignition switch failed. I called Jon's Towing because Yelp showed they were the AAA service closest to my location. The person who answered the phone assured me that they would send out the right equipment and tow operator and take my car to the closest Chevrolet dealership. In less than 15 minutes a flatbed truck arrived. I wish I had gotten the name of the truck driver. He assured me my Corvette would be handled with tender loving care. I was very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy of the telephone operator and the tow truck driver. My Corvette and I arrived at the dealership safe and sound. Called at 11am on Monday to maintain that I would be able to pick my car up and asked about the payment amount. Worst towing company ever. Gabriel, the manager is a cheat. They charged me $170 to tow my motorcycle 20 minutes down the road and managed to break my mirror off the bike and will not accept fault. I have before and after photos of the bike and it couldn't be anymore obvious. Terrible practice. My car was legally parked at home in my APARTMENT parking lot and was towed by this company. The "manager"was very pushy and condescending. Refused to supply me with a picture of why my car and EVIDENCE AS TO WHY IT WAS TOWEF. The Manager told me the longer I stood there trying to talk to him the more it would cost me. He told me I did not have permission to be in the lot and to be parked where I was. My placard was clearly displayed and I was NOT parked ANYWHERE in the lot that read DO NO PARK OR FIRE ZONE OR HANDICAP PARKING. I have also seen other cars parked in this spot before and after my car was parked there and they have not been towed!! I've contacted the owner of JONS TOWING and via email and several days later he responded and told me he forgot. Not professional. SCAM to tow cars and meet whatever quota they have. I am a landlord for a number of properties in the San Fernando Valley. Jon's Towing has been courteous to my tenants when tows have been performed. They ALWAYS take a picture of the vehicles before they tow and the way they are parked whether they have permits, etc. They towed a vehicle that the permit was missing and picked her up and discounted the tow. DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They have illegally place one of their signs on my private property. I called them to say that their sign was placed on the wrong property address. I asked them nicely to remove the sign because there are 8 bolts in it. When asked to remove it they said do it yourself! I am not going to hire my handyman and incur the expense of having it removed!! I told them I would make a report with the Burbank Police dept. for destruction of private property and illegally entering to place their sign that was not authorized.
