I recently decided to tackle our radon levels and purchased a monitoring device. Initially, I found…read morethat the readings fluctuated between 2 pci/l and 4 pci/l, especially with the basement window open. After a heavy rain, I was alarmed to see the levels spike to 9 pci/l. Since we have a room converted into a remote office in the basement, resolving the radon issue became a priority. After doing some research, I discovered that Ric had a remarkable number of 5-star reviews compared to other companies, so I reached out to him and set up an appointment. Ric showed up right on time at 8:00 AM and got straight to work. The first thing he did was identify the best spot in our unfinished basement for drilling a hole. He chose a discreet location behind the laundry room door, ensuring it wouldn't be noticeable. Ric then carefully brought in several buckets of gravel and soil under the slab, installed a white PVC pipe, and extended it into the garage. From there, he routed the pipe up into the attic and out through a small hole drilled in the siding of the house. He worked diligently for six hours and did an impressive job. Ric made sure to clean up thoroughly after finishing, and he sealed the slab crack with specialized radon chalk. The next day, with the basement door and windows tightly shut, I was thrilled to see the radon levels drop to sub-zero. I monitored the readings for three weeks, and they remained consistently low. I can't believe Ric doesn't have even more 5-star reviews; he truly did an outstanding job!

I had measured high Radon levels in the basement, up to 17 pCi/L. John thought through the situation effectively, identified a good spot for and installed a Radon mitigation system and did some other sealing work in the basement. Radon levels dropped dramatically after he finished and are now consistently way below the 4 pCi/L level that requires mitigation. I would strongly recommend him if you have a Radon problem.

They were able to come out to the house in a reasonable turnaround time from initial contact. The gentleman doing the testing was very professional and informative. Cost seemed reasonable. Hopefully you never have to have asbestos testing done. But if you do, these are your people.

Angela is also immensely helpful with scheduling and with any issues that come up. Our house has two levels that needed abatement so Janryk installed a system on one level that connected both and pulled from both to get the radon out. The levels dropped quickly but then popped back up. So he came back, investigated, and installed a bigger fan. That also wasn't getting the levels to the point we needed but Janryk came back again and installed a supplemental system. He stands by his work, and guarantees it. He and his team are such a pleasure to work with.

Not impressed--waste of money, time, and peace of mind. I brought this company to my home at the…read morerecommendation of my functional medicine doctor. I had evidence of mold in my home from testing and told Mr. Taylor that I smelled mold in the bedroom corner and the kitchen. He gave me a 34-page "bid" (estimate), which I read in full, only to find that it was entirely boilerplate and did not explain anything about the findings or proposed remediation plan or explanation of why they needed to charge $6,000 to do what he had explained to me was simply uncaulk, dehumidify, recaulk, clean the ducts, and clean the HVAC, which is about $1300 of work. I repeatedly requested a short summary of the work to do be done, only to be told that it had to be discussed instead. I called him, and he verified the scope of work I mentioned. His explanation was that it had to be done to industry standards, which included putting the house under negative pressure and doing the work all at once, so that there was no mold flying around or cross-contamination. I told him we could not afford $6,000 and would seek to do the indicated work with other contractors, which we did. The duct cleaning guy begged me not to waste my money on duct cleaning, since he'd cleaned our ducts the year before and mold does not live in ducts, but we got it done anyway, following Mr. Taylor's general work plan. Duct guy was right; it made no difference. The two issues I had identified Mr. Taylor incorrectly indicated were caused by the HVAC (bedroom) and the kitchen drips, and that once the source of water was stopped and the area dried, we wouldn't need to close up the gap in the kitchen cabinet wall. He was wrong on both counts. I continue to smell mold coming from the bedroom wall and the kitchen cabinet. I called him to ask for additional diagnostic help with the bedroom wall issue. He did not return my call. When I called the next time, he had no recollection of the service and attributed our poor results to our not having used his state-of-the-art plan, which would not have made any difference, because he misdiagnosed the two main issues. I requested his additional help, which he refused to provide.
