I had measured high Radon levels in the basement, up to 17 pCi/L. John thought through the situation effectively, identified a good spot for and installed a Radon mitigation system and did some other sealing work in the basement. Radon levels dropped dramatically after he finished and are now consistently way below the 4 pCi/L level that requires mitigation. I would strongly recommend him if you have a Radon problem.

Where Geller Labs went from perfectly competent to AMAZING is in the patience Mr. Geller displayed with answering questions. My dad had come along with me for the test, and my dad had a ton of questions informed by his own experience as a builder and with indoor air quality. Mr. Geller spoke at length, answered every question, opened up an air vent to check inside the duct work, and basically covered everything twice. Professional, patient, competent, and a genuinely nice individual. Would totally recommend Geller Labs if you've got shady stuff happening in your house and you want it professionally investigated.

I had evidence of mold in my home from testing and told Mr. Taylor that I smelled mold in the bedroom corner and the kitchen. He gave me a 34-page "bid" (estimate), which I read in full, only to find that it was entirely boilerplate and did not explain anything about the findings or proposed remediation plan or explanation of why they needed to charge $6,000 to do what he had explained to me was simply uncaulk, dehumidify, recaulk, clean the ducts, and clean the HVAC, which is about $1300 of work. I repeatedly requested a short summary of the work to do be done, only to be told that it had to be discussed instead. I called him, and he verified the scope of work I mentioned. His explanation was that it had to be done to industry standards, which included putting the house under negative pressure and doing the work all at once, so that there was no mold flying around or cross-contamination. I told him we could not afford $6,000 and would seek to do the indicated work with other contractors, which we did. The duct cleaning guy begged me not to waste my money on duct cleaning, since he'd cleaned our ducts the year before and mold does not live in ducts, but we got it done anyway, following Mr. Taylor's general work plan. Duct guy was right; it made no difference. The two issues I had identified Mr. Taylor incorrectly indicated were caused by the HVAC (bedroom) and the kitchen drips, and that once the source of water was stopped and the area dried, we wouldn't need to close up the gap in the kitchen cabinet wall. He was wrong on both counts. I continue to smell mold coming from the bedroom wall and the kitchen cabinet. I called him to ask for additional diagnostic help with the bedroom wall issue. He did not return my call. When I called the next time, he had no recollection of the service and attributed our poor results to our not having used his state-of-the-art plan, which would not have made any difference, because he misdiagnosed the two main issues. I requested his additional help, which he refused to provide.

The alarm was going off, my property manager's emergency line was not answering, and the condo association's published emergency number was invalid. I eventually called the non-emergency fire station because I was concerned about water in the smoke detector and whether it could affect the building's alarm/sprinkler system. Hours later, around 10:30 PM, I received a call from someone who described himself as calling from an "emergency line." In that moment, I assumed he was connected to the property manager, condo association, or emergency response, and I started explaining the situation because I thought help had finally arrived. Instead, after a gut feeling something was "off", I discovered that he had gotten my name from fire department dispatch information and was contacting me to solicit business. Even after I told him I did not appreciate being called at 10:30 at night with him claiming to respond to my emergency call, he demanded the names of the property manager and property owner. That is wildly inappropriate. An active leak involving water damage and a smoke detector is not a marketing opportunity. Using emergency-response information and vague "emergency line" language to get someone on the phone during an active crisis is misleading and predatory. I would never hire or recommend someone who conducts business this way. I didn't trust this guy after just a few minutes on the phone with him, I definitely wouldn't let him in my house.

All communications from them stopped when I showed them proof of the job not done - proof from an independent mold inspection I paid for which confirmed existing mold and work not done. I'm not only very disappointed, but am very concerned about the health and safety of me and my children who have now all been living with unsafe levels of mold in the home, which they refused to properly treat. Bravado came out and found through their various sensors that we had water damage in the ceiling of several rooms, the water shorted out our washer/dryer, and it was underneath our flooring. We escaped without having to re-do our kitchen or bathroom but basically the whole rest of the house now needs work. They set up ten huge fans (for a one bedroom, and cut away damaged drywall, and just generally got things done. While I'm not happy about the damage or the construction zone my home now is, I'm so happy with Bravado group! They came out quickly, worked efficiently and explained everything they were doing and looking for, stopped by on a weekend to check on the drying process and adjust any fans that needed adjusting, and just generally saved us from our own optimism and the potential mold that would have come with it.
