I found this company based on their reviews in May 2025. One thing that stood out was that all the reviews were positive and five stars. Even though their price was a bit higher than the company my agent recommended, I decided to go with them -- after all, buying a house only happens a few times in a lifetime, and you want true professionals for something that important. It wasn't until I had this inspection that I realized how bad my last home inspection was. In this case, the inspector arrived on time and spent several hours going absolutely everything--the roof, electrical sockets, the HVAC and boiler, all the appliances, etc.. They documented everything with pictures. I also mentioned that I didn't really know a lot of things about owning a house and he took the time to point out a few "good to know" things that I absolutely wouldn't have known otherwise. I got a detailed report with pictures via their web portal, as well as comments about what was a major vs minor issue. Outstanding service from start to finish. Their website was easy to use with services offered, their prices, and booking inspections. I left a phone message and appointment request on their website for a mold and air quality inspection and attic inspection for our home. I got prompt following up messages by phone and email. Ian was booked, but was willing to make the inspections over the weekend. I said I could wait until the following week. Ian arrived on time, brought his equipment, did a thorough inspection of a very humid attic, took pictures, performed several mold tests, patiently answered a myriad of my questions, gave me a list of minor and major concerns I may want to address with my HVAC company, and sent me the comprehensive attic inspection report that evening! I got the mold and air quality report one day later. Ian also promptly answered more of my follow up questions, including over the following weekend. Hands down the best home inspection team I had. They are a great value compared to there competition. The process for there inspectors to be certified is actually rigorous and all reports are reviewed by other experts for accuracy and information prior to being published. Here is a review of my inspection: We had two inspections on our house, while not typical we brought in a GC turned inspector and homekey. The GC was more for house expansion, foundation, and build quality. Honestly should have never used the GC and just went with homekey. The GC house inspection - 2 hours; homekey inspection- 6 hours. GC found 5 non-issues) and did not inspect the roof. Homekey found 50+ items to include a crack in foundation, a broken joist, a replaced joist, a broken clamp, issues with the fireplace, issues with sealant on roof and many more. Mike was fantastic!!! Nicest and most reliable person I have met in the home inspection industry. He is diligent, and pays attention to everything. He will work hard and not cut corners. I carefully read and compared company reviews and have had several home inspections over the years, so I expected a quality inspection from HomeKey but even going into it with high expectations I was still surprised and impressed with the thoroughness and conscientiousness of the inspection. My inspector was Mike, and the home is an older one owned by an elderly person so there were many issues to evaluate. The inspection took much longer than the average amount of time and the report was much longer and required much more work to produce, but there wasn't the slightest hint of rushing any of it or skimping at all. I myself suggested the roof could be skipped because I was worried moss had made it slippery and figured it was surely pretty much gone anyway, but Mike bravely went up there, made sure it was safe, then took a good long while in the heat and returned with photos and an issue that requires immediate attention. Likewise, I was surprised at the willingness to enter a very cramped dirt floor crawl space and proceed around the entire foundation... out of sight into the nether reaches... but I have photographic proof! Those are just two examples out of many, but from under the floors to over the ceilings in attic spaces accessible only through ceiling hatches, Mike examined every detail, took photos, and carefully documented the entire process which resulted in a long, thorough and informative report that will make the purchase decision better informed and provide structure for repair decisions. The price of the service was pretty much the going rate, and thus reasonable. I don't see much spread in the pricing of home inspections across companies, so I would feel cautious of any company that deviated by much. The difference in value for your cost would then be the quality of the inspection. Honestly, the cost of HomeKey's inspection could have been higher and would still have been well worth it for the care, time spent, the information provided, and for the assurance having a trained eye on things can give you. read more

We cannot sing Chad's praises enough. We hired Chad for a home inspection last year, and let's just say he did TOO good of a job because we cancelled our contract! We found another house this year and just used him again. We specifically requested him, and, once again, he did not disappoint! His attention to detail is incredible.
