They come out once a quarter and spray outside our home to deter ants, which we have seen inside only on several occasions. When we have seen ant infestation (twice inside our mailbox and once inside our home in an air duct) we have called and a technician was dispatched and thoroughly resolved the issue. On Saturday, 3/18/17, my husband noticed a few very small ants in our kitchen. He made a call and a technician (Brett Seace) came on Monday. He was very thorough and polite and closed both gates after he was finished, a big issue for us as we have a dog and many service people leave one or both gates open. He informed us of what he did and what he found (no active infestation found) and told us what to expect and what to do if we do see further evidence of ants. However, the system was not set up correctly from the start. It relied heavily on auxiliary heat during heating and failed to cool properly when tested at the start of summer. When I reached out to Meade's, their technician confirmed that the outdoor unit wasn't operating correctly and that the refrigerant was significantly out of specification. As a result, the system effectively ran in an incorrect configuration for nearly three months during peak winter, leading to significantly higher electricity bills (about 3x normal). Once corrected, the system behavior changed immediately. This was also clearly evidenced through Nest thermostat history, which showed auxiliary heat being used on nearly every heating cycle during that period. I understand that energy usage was higher for many homeowners during the colder months, but in this case the system behavior changed noticeably after the issue was fixed, which points to a setup issue rather than just weather. These were installation-related issues that should have been caught during initial setup. While Meade's was responsive in sending a technician after i reached out to them to get the system checked, there was no acknowledgment of the impact beyond that. This review is long overdue…read more James installed our Sonos system at our home in Ashburn shortly after we moved in back in July 2014. In addition, he installed our new flat-screen TV -- coming up with a custom solution that worked perfectly. He also did some troubleshooting on our CAT-5 ethernet and installed wi-fi routers throughout the home. Last but not least, he managed to resurrect the in-home speaker system which had been dormant for 5+ years. The home came equipped with ceiling mounted JBL speakers in 3 rooms, but the previous owner never managed to get them working. James removed the antiquated / non-functioning receiver and equipment from our media closet, and replaced it with a Sonos system -- and breathed new life into those JBL speakers. Now we enjoy Pandora, iTunes, etc throughout the home. James is amazingly resourceful, shows up on time, does great work, and always can be counted on to return a call. His professionalism and attention to detail are beyond reproach. We're doing a porch, deck, and pool addition right now, and I will be 100% calling James to help with our outdoor hi-fi / wi-fi needs.
